@@Z-Man1973 Gee, I didn't realise! I thought Toyota didn't sell diesel cars in the USA because people prefer petrol (gas as you say). It's an interesting comparison, with the cheap petrol/gas prices in the USA a V8 Petrol GX460 (basically a 150 Prado) sounds like a terrifically powerful vehicle. Petrol Engines are also less expensive to maintain than diesel. But the low end torque of a diesel is nice - but more power would be very nice! If I lived in Colorado I'd get a nice GX460 (either new or second hand according to budget), put some good quality sheepskin seat covers on (I love my sheepskins) Dobinsons monotubes and heavy duty springs (352 F, 327R, 265/70 R17 wheels and TOYO AT tyres (tires) (to small for USA?), KAON UVP and the usual KAON accessories, Rola tray, and I'd drive it as much as I could around that wonderful State! Best wishes from Perth Western Australia 👍👍
The Dunlops that came on our RAV4 Hybrid wore to the cord on the inside before we even noticed it even with the dealer supposedly doing tire rotations. Alignment checked out fine and the Michelins we put on next (with me doing the tire rotations) wore perfectly flat.

Ahmed, I love all of your videos on both channels and never have missed one. I am a huge fan and I have learned so much from you. If I may be so bold, I would like to give back and provide some friendly and caring advice to you which you can adopt if you see fit. As a retired physician who has pretty much seen and experienced almost "everything" over the years, I would VERY STRONGLY suggest that you use safety eye protection EVERY time you work on your cars without exception. I have seen too much tragedy over the years almost all of which could have been easily avoided with an inexpensive purchase from Amazon or elsewhere. Please think about it. Take care and be well to the WHOLE CAR NUT FAMILY!`
Your advice is spot on honestly! I just can’t seem to break old school mechanic stubborn habits! But I’ll try. I really appreciate you and hope you’re having a wonderful weekend.
I'm glad to see you've opted for oil spray undercoating. I started it two years ago and I'm really happy. Dunlop tires were horrible on my 1991. I see they have not improved.
About every car I've owned had red interior which I love because tan and black is too common in today's cars. In the 90's you could have an interior color of choice as long as it was grey which is hideous to me.
I've had my '02 Sequoia for 8 years now, and my family agrees that it's great for eating miles on a road trip. It's approaching 400k miles, so the days of fretting over every scratch is past, and every dent has a story (hail dent tornado chasing, buffalo rubbed against the back door, fording a stream knocked the running board loose and screwed it down, etc.).
Thanks for another great video! Great advice on keeping an eye on coolant on the transmission, mine had the dreaded valley leak and found out when I noticed dried coolant spots on that area. Keep up the good work buddy!
**In any accident, remember that everyone prioritizes their own interests.** Don't expect rational discussions, as the other party will likely downplay their role. Instead of wasting time arguing, focus on gathering evidence: * **Take pictures** of the accident scene, vehicle damage, and any visible injuries. * **Use a dash cam** to record the incident. * **Get the other driver's license and insurance information.** **Stay alert and assume the other party will try to avoid responsibility.** This protects you and helps ensure a fair outcome.
Thanks for sharing. Love your videos on the GX460 and other Toyota technical stuffs. You’re one of the reasons why I’m up to my toes taking good care of my 2021 Lexus GX460. 🇨🇦 😊
@41:30 Yes, very important. Call police -> take pictures of both cars all around -> Get police report -> file claim with insurance -> use your trusted repair place. I tell this because I had the same experience hit from behind at a red light. When I file the claim the party at fault story changed to "there was another car hit from behind". Lucky the police report does not say anything about 3rd vehicle nor the pictures show damages to the back of party at fault. I repaired from my insurance and my insurance took the money from the other party's insurance. I got a very nice rental car to enjoy for a month and my Rav4 was repaired like it was new. Even though it was a minor hit insurance replaced the rear hatch, bumper, badges and what not. I was very happy with the job and paint matched perfectly to my eyes.
Also please please have dashcams. Its very DIY and you can hide wires perfectly. Atleast on 4Runner its very easy to have parking mode also. Any dashcam with Sony STARVIS 2 sensor would be sufficient to get the job done. Wi-Fi capability is an added bonus to transfer files with out removing the memory card.
I have had my 4Runner for 2 years now as well and a few months ago Somebody pulled out in front of me and I clipped it in side No obvious damage except for scuffed paint that buffed out That plastic is quite strong Those protection plates underneath could save the vehicle from road debris going thru the sump so there is an on road benefit
AMD, I am glad you mentioned the upcoming rustproofing. 🥳🥳 You can do all the mechanical maintenance in the world on a Salt Belt car but that won't stop rust eating it alive. Please extend my well wishes to Mrs Car Care Nut. 😁
AMD and Jason are two honest and conscientious guys that are role models for others in the industry - I’ve had Jason’s company work on my cars and trust them, and as an owner of a old, pristine, Toyota with sentimental value - AMD is on my mind for simply doing an inspection. BTW - the PDR guy is Dennis- he does great work.
Wipers - first time Toyota owner (2024 Venza) - didn’t know there were replaceable inserts. Remember this style from a~30 years or so ago…. Ordered replacements…
I just saw a dashcam from NY where a person pulled in front of the lady driver hit their brake and then reversed back into her and everyone in that car was claiming whiplash. Fortunately, she had the dashcam to prove her innocence. Its that bad now.
Great video as always 😊 while I sat in my vehicle in a parking lot the person next whipped their door open and into my vehicle causing a small dent. This person didn't even have the descent response of saying sorry, just looked and walked away 😔 I had to count to ten keeping my behavior in check.
In New England, we buy 5 sets of those pins every case of oil filters. Every spring, replace. I drove my Tacoma for 13 days in NH salt. Then moved to Florida. Then got the fuel pump recalled. Had to take it to 3 dealers before anyone would touch it. "More rust than they ever saw before." They replaced literally everything they touched. 13 days. According to FL technician fuel tank straps were "unsafe". 13 days.
@@charley95sheridan44 recalls are federally mandated, with severe penalties if they are not done correctly. Most dealerships won't screw around with how they do recalls.
@@drw1926 It's not that I don't trust the pump being replaced properly it's the issue of my car being damaged cosmetically. It's happened several times to me.
My Sequoia caliper pins are similar design. New England winters binded them up. After my brake job my gas mileage went back to 16.3 mpg from a low of 15.2.
I park way out in the lots so things don't happen on all my vehicles. Walking is good exercise unless you are unable to then get dropped off closer. Lately the road less traveled to your destination has benefits in getting into accidents if possible.
Please make more videos of this GX 460. I got a 2023 GX 460 Luxury package for a year now. I do all my maintenance. I change the motor oil at 845 miles, 3,900 and recently 5,300 miles. At 850 miles there were metal shavings in the oil filter since the engine was brand new and barely broken-in. Lexus 2 free maintenance service doesn’t change the oil until 10k miles. I don’t want to risk it as I want to keep this GX as long as I live. Maybe passing it down to my kids or grandkids.
The same type accident happened to my wife and her Highlander. A girl on the cell phone ran into my wife as she was stopped in traffic. The girl even admitted her brakes were not the best. It did $11,300 damage to my wife's car. The insurance wanted to total her car and I got heated up. My wife's car was and still is pristine after the crash. We pride our vehicles and I knew we could not replace her car for the money the insurance would have given us. I kept on the adjuster and they made the repair. I told my wife if they totaled the car, we were not going to buy some used junk. Her car had only 52,000 miles and looked like new. I would buy a new one. You never know what is going to happen. We work hard for the money to own nice vehicles and I take care of them.
When I bought that same funnel a few months ago to pour oil into my Mazda CX-5 and posted about it on Reddit, everyone made fun of me, calling me a fool and saying I was wasting my money. Now I see it being used in this video by one of the best car mechanics, especially for Toyota. I couldn’t be happier, knowing I wasn’t wrong to get that type of funnel.
It's so refreshing to see someone as in depth with toyota and lexus, as I am. I've been working in a toyota and lexus environment since I was 8 years old. I was A1-A8 ase certified at the age of 15. So, My 2017 GX that you inspected for me needed the maintenance done at 70k. I Had it Ziebart undercoated and rustproofed, changed the brake fluid, oil, and filter, put pre-mixed Toyota coolant in it, and had the rotors skim-cut and new brake pads. Now I have peace of mind and know that I'll have this SUV for a long time! Thanks for your help! As far as accidents, You're right about a police report and photos. One more thing, I will not drive anywhere without a dashcam!!!! I have a 4k in front and a 4k in the back. You can't trust any one and the insurance companies are not your friend. Thanks for the great videos!
Your channel has helped me so much with my 2008 Toyota Camry 2 AZ FE. Shop had shaved the head and not installed a shim resulting in a retarded timing issue due to health that I could not monitor the work as usual. The shop gave me the car with a light from the changed valve train geometry. I was looking for the issue when I saw your video telling us about Toyota shaved heads. So, I ordered a shim from the U.S. (I am in Mexico). Went back in put the shim in with a quality Fel-pro gasket. It restored the retarded timing issue. So thank you so very much. I watch your channel religiously. So keep up the good work.
Lots bull dust out back roads. normal filters get the box dirty on the clean side. I put a little rubber grease on the seals of air cleaner filter. It really works. The 200 series is very prone to getting engine dusted in Australia. We use after market filter boxes here and the dusting problem goes away.
It’s not the engineers it’s the marketing and management telling people to do these crazy intervals. I bet you most engineers working for these cat companies (and especially powertrain engineers) do not do these crazy intervals on their own vehicles
Thanks Ahmed! I was thinking I was crazy to want to replace my OEM tires with only 8000 miles on my 2023 Camry XSE V6 with some Michelin CrossClimate 2's. You helped push me over the edge.
NOTE: At 42:16 you start talking about calling the police in an accident. I’m from California, the police usually refuse to come out to an accident. I was involved in a hit and run, I was rear ended at a stop sign. So I pulled over and the other person fled the scene. I called it in and they said they’d send someone to at least take a report so I have something to file with my insurance company, well standing at the side of the road for an hour, I called them back and they told me to come into their office the following morning, they no longer respond to traffic accidents unless someone is injured. I was shocked that they didn’t even bother to call me to tell me they weren’t coming. So don’t rely on police to show up, make sure you know what you are supposed to do in the event of an accident if the police refuse to show you have have all the necessary information if you need to protect interests. My Mom was sideswiped on the freeway a couple years ago and the driver was drunk and spun out into a field and the police never showed up either. A lady, at like 2am gets hit by a drunk driver on the freeway and no police show. It’s bad. I’m not saying don’t try to call the police BUT make sure you have a plan and method to document things should they choose not to show up.

Thanks, ! Interesting to have other Countries, viewpoints, etc.
The Dunlops that came on our RAV4 Hybrid wore to the cord on the inside before we even noticed it even with the dealer supposedly doing tire rotations. Alignment checked out fine and the Michelins we put on next (with me doing the tire rotations) wore perfectly flat.
Mrs. Car care nut is very blessed to have you take care of her car! I have to beg to get any work done and he never cleans up any spills. I learned how to change my own oil and other fluids because I got tired of waiting for him to do it! lol!
I always park away from the crowd in parking lots. A few extra steps means no door dings. Have trained the wife to do the same 😉
Ha, me too, We park a mile out to avoid getting the grocery store measles. Not a one yet on both of my Lexus's and one is 11 years old. Ya have to hunt out the spot that no one else wants to park plus, it's good exercise.
@@charley95sheridan44 I have my " reserved, " spots at the grocery store. It's far enough out that nobody parks there...but me.
Reasonable advice
Your advice is spot on honestly! I just can’t seem to break old school mechanic stubborn habits! But I’ll try. I really appreciate you and hope you’re having a wonderful weekend.
I got safety glasses adapted to my view, with prescription, I found out it was a game changer and it’s hard for me not to wear them.
Wear safety goggles or glasses. Please! We need more videos.
I'm glad to see you've opted for oil spray undercoating. I started it two years ago and I'm really happy. Dunlop tires were horrible on my 1991. I see they have not improved.
What about crc or amsoil metal protector. Those dry and don't wash off. Why use fluid film etc that ends up washing away and having to be reapplied?
Keep up the good work and compassion for other people. AMD our brother in Christ.
43:19 Ur a good man for letting that rear damage go.
I don’t normally like red but that interior is fire.
About every car I've owned had red interior which I love because tan and black is too common in today's cars. In the 90's you could have an interior color of choice as long as it was grey which is hideous to me.
Beautiful car.
I do my oil changes every 6 months or 5,000 miles with fully synthetic oil!
Do they have 0 w 20 or 0w 16 in non syn?
@@Republic1usa probably not.
@@Republic1usaNo, "0" means synthetic is used in it. Pure dino oil can't have a 0 weight.....that is my understanding.
Got a 23 so love seeing these for sure !!
400k, that's awesome, congrats to you!
Instead of wasting time arguing, focus on gathering evidence:
* **Take pictures** of the accident scene, vehicle damage, and any visible injuries.
* **Use a dash cam** to record the incident.
* **Get the other driver's license and insurance information.**
**Stay alert and assume the other party will try to avoid responsibility.** This protects you and helps ensure a fair outcome.
Great video. You’re an inspiration to all home mechanics. God bless you.
You deserve the best, 44:52 Mr. Car care. And God blessed you with a wife who you are happy with.
And who is happy with him
This guy is a perfectionist. Hats off to you!!!
You would be amazed how a trailer hitch can prevent disasters from getting worse.
Illegal to have trailer hitch ball installed in Illinois when not towing though
@@travissheehan6082what about a step
Wouldn't that cause damage to the frame
Thanks for sharing. Love your videos on the GX460 and other Toyota technical stuffs. You’re one of the reasons why I’m up to my toes taking good care of my 2021 Lexus GX460. 🇨🇦 😊
Smart guy ! You are a good man.
You're the Best man! I wish you were a Diesel Mechanic also! Totally appreciate your passion and dedication to Toyota/Lexus automotive! Much Love
It is Fascinating to watch an Artist at work !
My RX350 have Michelin tires and I love them in fact just replaced all 4 with the same tires.
It's the only brand I run on my 14 RX and on my 3rd set.
I have had my 4Runner for 2 years now as well and a few months ago
Somebody pulled out in front of me and I clipped it in side
No obvious damage except for scuffed paint that buffed out
That plastic is quite strong
Those protection plates underneath could save the vehicle from road debris going thru the sump so there is an on road benefit
Please advise from where the replacements for wipers to take?, maybe it's for RAV4 as well?
@@juliustertelis5902 according to Amazon it’s the same as the RAV4 (“fits” my Venza). I expected this as the cars are very very similar.
I just saw a dashcam from NY where a person pulled in front of the lady driver hit their brake and then reversed back into her and everyone in that car was claiming whiplash. Fortunately, she had the dashcam to prove her innocence. Its that bad now.
Yes they commit insurance fraud
Loving the altezza in the back there, wonder wats under the hood
Great video as always 😊 while I sat in my vehicle in a parking lot the person next whipped their door open and into my vehicle causing a small dent. This person didn't even have the descent response of saying sorry, just looked and walked away 😔 I had to count to ten keeping my behavior in check.
This guy is the best mechanic on RUclips, very knowledgeable
Very nice gesture to let the fender bender go, very few people would do that. Karma will take care of you and Mrs. CCN in a very good way.
Not Karma. Like CCN says .The Good Lord will protect him and care for him.
I had no idea it was that easy to change the internal cabin air filter... Thanks for the information! (Changed in both cars in sub-20 mins... :) )
13 days.
I still haven't taken mine in for the fuel pump recall because I don't trust dealers.
Check your steering column linkage for rust.
I just lathered fluid film on mine.
Was disappointed to find it rusting on a 2 yr 4Runner.
Always put a towel under the wiper arm. JUST in case of an accidental drop. Even 6" can crack the glass.
I park way out in the lots so things don't happen on all my vehicles. Walking is good exercise unless you are unable to then get dropped off closer. Lately the road less traveled to your destination has benefits in getting into accidents if possible.
I, too, practice a strict isolationist policy when parking.
I do that too. I usually drop my wife/family off at the front door and go park. My family always teases me about my parking lot OCD.
This has to be the sickest GX460 out there. Looks like Batman's car if he had a family with Catwoman 😅. Love it.
I don't think SUVs come with the jet engine attachment at the rear :)
It’s just caviar with red interior bro lol
I don't have a platform like you do, but im ok with that. I do hold classes to teach people about their vehicles and.my classes are always full and have apps through the next year and a half and appreciate you showing the world brother.
For example, I rebuilt 3, 2ar-fe engines yesterday.

Vividly I remember the GX video just like yesterday. The SUV still looks brand new. This machine with your type of mechanic will a million mile
Mrs. TCCN now is very happy 😁
Yes OEM tires are terrible, my tundra’s tires barely lasted 2 years.
Great video with good information. Sorry about your accident. My wife loves her GX as well. Great vehicle.
He rolls on Michelin Defenders with his LS.
Too bad you can't depend on the PD to do THEIR JOB!!
Thank you for your time ❤
Video Suggestion… “Cars of AMD”! Title it “Memory Lane“! Go over complete history of the cars AMD has had in chronological order. How and why it became yours? Memorable moments of the car? What happened to it? Etc. How entertaining it would be to see a video like that with your funny stories.
Thank you for a great idea! I added it to the list.
Amd, this is the video I’ve been patiently waiting for! It was thanks to your “gifting” video that my wife and I bought our GX460 last year.. we absolutely love this beast and are so grateful to have been able to purchase one. Like yours, we too had a person run into ours (T-Boned and wiped out the whole driver’s side) which broke our hearts but no one was hurt and our baby is good as new again. Please keep us posted on anything you do to yours, we appear to be in lockstep as mine has also reached 15K miles thanks to short trips.
Can’t believe it’s already two years!

*The dentist's kids have cavities...*
I’ll walk from the back of the parking lot to keep my truck safe from dings however, there’s always that person that needs to park their 💩 box right next to me. Gotta love it.
