Nice selection selection of stops. Devil’s Kettle was especially neat with the one side disappearing into the rock. I would never have expected fires up in that region. I was aware of the current ones out west but without this video I would have been none the wiser. Hopefully they are extinguished soon. I’ve come to really appreciate visiting our National Forests. They offer some great sights and are typically less visited. I completed a recent weekend trip with my oldest in Charleston, SC. We spent one day hiking and kayaking in Francis Marion National Forest. Not remote at all but hardly saw anyone there. It was a bit sketchy with the wildlife, though. We kayaked and saw several alligators and had a large copperhead cross our path on one of the hiking trails.
Hello America's Parks..I grew up in North Dakota, which borders Minnesota to the west, and it has always amazed me how truly different the land differs in each state. North Dakota is more prairie, and wide open spaces, with rolling hills, and Minnesota is more wooded, and dotted with numerous lakes. As always Pastor Randy..thank you for sharing this Adventure with us...🌳🌳🌳
Hello America's Park's😊😊, I really love the scenic views of the northern coastal areas of Lake Superior and the beautiful state parks and National Monuments. I have been to quite a few of them and most require LOTS of steps but it's worth it for the SPECTACULAR views. Great to see Shane having a great time. I just got back from a wonderful road trip to Mill Mountain Park in Roanoke,VA--Cumberland Gap National Historical Park and that AWESOME Pinnacle Overlook and the history behind it--Great Smokey Mountains National Park and Clingmans Dome. I've been there many times but it doesn't get old---and, Cape Hatteras National Seashore!! I really enjoyed this video Randy👍👍👍👍. I can't wait to see what's in store next.
Hey Al, so encouraged to hear about your recent trips and the enjoyment you received from them! We too had a wonderful time in that Roanoke area when we drove the BR Parkways last fall. Have a great week, my friend!
We hiked along Oberg trail a few years back when colors were changing, and it is much busier on the trail then as you can imagine. Split rock river trail looks good too from posts seen on Facebook Superior Hiking Trail group site, we will take that next. The magnetic rock trail off gunflint trail is also a good hike. We were north of Ely in mid July during the fires, and was quite hazy some of the days we were there depending on wind direction. Good call to skip the last stop, hiking and smoke not a good combination! The falls in Grand Portage are beautiful, we enjoyed it there. I am so glad you had some good experiences in our neck of the woods. Be blessed!
Thinking back, it was a special time in MN. For the most part, we were able to complete most of the activities we planned to accomplish. Great to hear of your experiences. God bless you as well!
This channel keeps getting better & better. Thank you for helping me plan some road trips to various US national parks when we are able to travel internationally again. Stay safe. From Sydney, Australia.
You always do such a great job with editing! There is such a great mix of info, fun times, food, and of course gorgeous views. Thanks for sharing your trips with us. Take care always.
An absolutely Excellent National Forest video Randy. I enjoyed every moment you shared. The awesome scenery and the background music was very enjoyable. Thank you all and many Blessings always... Robin :-)
That's a super cool waterfall at Kettle falls and the lighthouse is a great viewing point. Sorry wildfires were happening while you were up there. Made for some neat orange views, otherwise nice skies closer to Canada....high falls was cool...we love ice cream... I like milkshakes more than malts for some reason, but looks like it was a good break in the day! Nice drone shots of the falls and pigeon river. Incredible that the fires shut that whole area down- but from those skies, wow .
Lots of awesome views in this video! Really like how Devil's Kettle Falls just cut through the Rock. Crazy how far that smoke from the forest fires can blow. I remember a couple years back when the Smokies were burning we could see it that same look in the clouds in Middle Georgia. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for the kind words! Plan to get the Isle Royale video up next - nasty, nasty food poisoning. Hits hard, but grateful is passes soon. Blessings to you as well!
Your videos progressively get better and better. It's a balance to get close parks near Jersey with far-away. Looking forward to more National Battlefields.
Randy, another nice segment of the Northern Minnesota tour for Julie, Shane and you. Split Rock Lighthouse is quite famous, and that is a nice feature in this video. The waterfalls are excellent! THANK YOU FOR TAKING US ALONG, . . . Mike
Hey Mike, just kind of stumbled on that lighthouse as we were heading out. Glad we made the stop just before they closed for the evening. Have a super week!
Thank you very much for sharing these amazing experiences of family trips to national parks. After subscribed your channel, our family started our journeys to the beautiful national parks as well. 😃
Those waterfalls were beautiful! Thanks for sharing another great video of somewhere I would have never known about. You are doing your viewers a fantastic service!
Another great video! SO much to see in this one I have driven through the Grand Portage area a lot when I lived in Thunder Bay across the border - but I never knew about this waterfall! Too bad, as it's really beautiful!
What an amazing area! Really loving the 360 camera( have to get one!). Here in Cali. wildfires are n unfortunate way of life. Almost totally preventable as well. Hope the Black Hills trip was great! I finally got home after 30 days and managed to upload a few clips.
Great video of my home state! Been up to the North Shore to hike and have done a lot of x-country skiing. Glad you enjoyed it (The Boundary Waters are open now).
Thanks for the hospitality and affirmation, Jane! We had such a nice time in Minnesota. Will never forget my two trips to the Boundary Waters in the early 90's.
Looks like Minnesota has some cool hiking trails! Having no mosquitoes is definitely a blessing I'm sure! Definitely a different kind of landscape than anyplace I have hiked through. Too bad the fires altered some of your plans for the day but that's totally out of your hands. Really cool Randy!
Love Lake Superior! There were a bunch of fires on the Canadian side as well. Last year, while up near Terrace Bay, I randomly picked a trail to do one day and it was probably the best hike I've ever done! And I've even hiked Angel's Landing! You'll have to get to the Canadian side of Lake Superior some day. It's very mountainous and Sleep Giant is a great area to tackle! Not too far from the second video on here!
Hey Steve, thanks for the suggestions! Would have no problem going back to that beautiful area and moving further north into Canada. And congrats on Angels Landing! One you'll never forget!!!
I’m planning on thru hiking the 310 mile Superior Hiking Trail the 21st of September. Looks very beautiful up there. Great video capturing a lot of that Superior landscape.
Those are some beautiful waterfalls & I love waterfalls! I've been getting out myself & enjoying a huge national park near Cleveland, Ohio. Thanks for this amazing video Randy. God Bless!
Oh man, you are on my lake!!! Man, you got to hit the north shore of the big lake one of these days. Beautiful. Yeah, we've had a few fires in the area this year...had a few summer days here under the hayz with that weird sun glow. Great drone shots, and rocking falls!
Beautiful falls but those steps were a bit long !😛 Nice vacation places and you were so close to Canada again…you will surely cross one day and who knows another channel maybe …Canada’s Park …Lol! 🤪 Congratulations for reaching over 40K Randy Nice views with you 360 camera 😉👍 Hope you are doing fine and wishing you a wonderful week Serge H&S 👩❤️👨🌈🇨🇦
How awesome! All good stops that I know well. My last visit was May before the fires. Too bad you couldn’t go to Honeymoon Bluff. Nice views and sometimes you see moose on the Gunflint Trail.
170 steps up and back. Oh boy. And then more steps after on the different part of the trail. If you are not in pain, are you really hiking. 😀 Forest fire smoke travel is crazy. I saw it first hand in Yellowstone. That was before the Dixie fire. I thought it was my eyes at first. But it wasn't.
Yeah... and those steps were the day after my Isle Royale sickness (recent video)! lol! Nice to hear about your traveling memories... even when we have to deal with the unfortunate stuff! Have a nice week!
Hopefully you'll hop north of the border and check out Kakabeka Falls which is referred to the Niagara of that area. Quetico Provincial Park is nice too just be careful with the moose and mosquitos. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for another great video! I'm not very familiar with Minnesota, so this video is a great introduction. Those waterfalls are fantastic! It's a shame about the wildfires. Do you happen to know what the sign posted on the tree (at 6:20 in the video) says? I can't tell if it's some sort of historical marker or a standard "don't dive in the rocks" warning.
It always amazes me how much beauty there is in our national parks, monuments & forests. Your videos do them justice. Although I was aware how bad the wildfires are our west, I was not aware that drought has affected that part of the US as well. I noticed from your drone shots that a lot of the trees appeared to be changing color; what time of year were you there? I guess that some of the color change was due to drought conditions and maybe to the time of year? Any thoughts?
Hey Bob, great question. We were there about 3 weeks ago. It's rather far up north so the fall colors will appear much earlier. But at this point, I believe much of it was due to the drought. The leaves were falling way too early.
I love Minnesota... born and raised... ♥️
Fantastic state! Had a blast up there - so much beauty!
Epically beautiful on every conceivable level! Looks like a great family getaway!
Appreciate the kind words, TJ!

Wow, some memorable encounters with nature! Same here... making the forests more of a priority - less crowds and regulations.

Some really nice waterfalls and trails . It was so dry. Not typically how you’d expect northern MN to be. Thankful for a nice trip .

Good taste, Joseph! Those Great Lakes are special, but something really unique about Superior! Hope you can get out there!
Your videos progressively get better and better. It's a balance to get close parks near Jersey with far-away. Looking forward to more National Battlefields.
Appreciate the encouragement, Christopher! Yeah, need to get to some more battlefields. So sobering and reflective to walk those hallowed grounds.
