Minnesota is a state filled with a variety of things to see and do. From the state being known as the North Star State to being the inventor of the first "mall" in America (and subsequently the largest "mall" in America). Minnesota has a ton of great places to visit. It doesn't stop at just the Twin Cities. There's so much to see and explore in the Land of 10,000 Lakes.
If you are asking yourself why visit Minnesota? We'll have you covered with all of our favorite cities, landmarks (like the Split Rock Lighthouse), state parks and several secret places along the way that aren't filled with tourists (sorry, Mall of America).

There are a some mistakes in this video. Gooseberry Falls is not part of Lake country. Gooseberry Falls is on the north shore. Lake country is farther west. Tettegouche state park, pronounced tette gooch, does have a beautiful waterfall called high falls but it is on the Babptism river, not the Pigeon river. High falls on the pigeon river is up the north shore to the northeast near Grand Portage state park. Both of these waterfalls are well worth seeing.

Not bad, but it could be greatly improved by better syncing the text with the pictures, and having less late fall or early spring shots and more summer shots. Also, you should try to pronounce the names of the places you promote in the video the way it is actually said in Minnesota. For example, Lutsen is pronounced "loot-son," Grand Marais "grand ma-ray," and Tettagouche "te-ta-gooch."

@@viatravelers Days that are comfortable to be outside for long stretches of time without freezing, sweating or swatting.
Northern MN is either too cold (October through May), too hot, too humid, too windy, too rainy, or filled with swarms of mosquitos, biting flies and wood ticks for about 335 days a year.
I lived there many years. Summer is the rainy season, just for spite. When spring finally comes, the bugs start breeding. Every evening around sunset, it is impossible to be outside for about three months.
Spring and fall are short, sometimes measured in weeks.
If you hit it right, it can be great, but it is a long shot. September can be great, but it is a short season of nice weather. Normally, by late September the frost hits and leaves drop fast.
Southern MN, is much warmer than Northern MN (8 - 10 degrees). It still has bad winters, but are at least a month shorter for the entire season. The summers are much hotter, with high humidity, though. Gulf stream humidity makes it into Southern MN, along with lake, swamp and transpiration from farming. Summers in Minneapolis are brutally hot.
