- Timeusb sent me a battery to review. The battery is a 100ah 12v Lifepo4 battery. It passed all the testing except one.
I like the form factor of the this battery. It's a Group 24 and it's easy to pick up and move around because the fact that it's light weight.
It can also push out 400A for one second!

I have (4) in 2P2S. Been in service in a backup system for over a year; no issue. The company is also very responsive.
I'm glad to hear it! Thanks for the comment.
Very nice to see someone doing stress testing and not just a battery infomercial. Though, you should have used an IR thermometer and checked the battery temperature looking for hotspots.
I do use it on some of my reviews. I need to be more consistent. Thanks for the comment.
Impressive little battery. Massive amp stress test Would have thought the bms would cut out sooner. Keep up the good work mate 👍
It must be set to shut off at 400A. I feel like they need to adjust that. Thanks for the comment.
@@OffGridBasement yes I agree hopfully they sort it
Thanks for the video! I just checked their website and that’s a good price imo. I was afraid that your cables would melt. Plenty of power in that battery!
I couldn't believe it didn't shut off at that amperage. Thanks for the comment.
Nice review.
Thanks for the view and the comment.
I already have the little 50Ah an love it. Considering I carry my batteries through a muddy jungle to a remote array. I love the form factor. I ain't pullin 380amps though 😂
The smaller and lighter the better! Thanks for the comment.
... use my 50 ah TimeUSB for an off grid (solar powered) HF 100 watt SSB transceiver... peak SSB O/P draws 16, maybe 18 amps, average is 30% of that.. in TX full SSB with compression on the input voltage fluctuates .1-.2V... don't get much better than that. Perfect for POTA (Parks on the Air) operation. It's a bit heavy for SOTA (Summits on the Air) unless someone else is packin the battery up the hill for you as the 50ah is 11 lbs...
Sounds like you could possibly get 4 to 5 hours of use out of a 50ah battery without solar. Does that give enough time to do what you need? Thanks for the comment.
@@OffGridBasement .... for Hf or VHF amateur radio service the 50 ah battery should comfortably last a day if not more.. the receivers only draw around 600ma (HF transceiver) on RX (that's around 6 ah for 10 hours) .. VHF radios, particularly portables usually far less... If extra power is needed, say for LED lighting, going to 100 ah is not particularly expensive...
Seems like it would start a small car's engine but probably have a short battery life. At that size (24 vs 31) do you know if it has pack cells?

They use prismatic cells, not pouch cells. I would think a small engine would pull too many amps, but it would be an interesting test! Thanks for the comment.
You would figure high temp would of shut it off . Might have some resodered wires in their
I would just hate for the internals to get damaged because the protections don't work.
If only it I can purchase LiFePo4 batteries without all the high added cost of freight shipping
If you don't have a way to get free shipping, that can definitely be an issue. Thanks for the comment.
@@OffGridBasement ...TimeUSB ships for free to the lower 49.. no additional charge... they won't ship to Mexico... had to mule mine in.. not sure about Canada.
You must have so many 12v batteries...lol..I was giving up in the winter but actually found a utility company that sells Octopus agile rate electric.. They are dumping Wind power at night at variable rates..04p 0.0 p even minus rates paying you to take it away. agile...So I might try to charge up at night and use free during the day... Octopus energy I think is only in Texas. not National in USA don't think they can sell into any area like in the UK.
I do have a lot of batteries and I use all of them. I've built a battery bank just for extra storage that really only supplies extra capacity to my 24v system. Great find on the wind power utility. I'm trying something like that now with a Bluetti and a smart plug that only charges during off peak and runs a fridge the rest of the day. Thanks for the info and the comment.
Happy New Year, yeah in the USA its true more of a Campers market cheap electric rates,,,,I think in UK I have 1400 pounds energy Bill for the year, Electric heaters are cheaper than my old gas Boiler water radiator set up... Called Fuel poverty in UK so real market for people to save money with Solar.
I would not trust that BMS. It doesn't have a high voltage cut-off and maybe doesn't even have a high-temp cut-off, given that it SHOULD have triggered 30 seconds into a 380 amp output. This kind of battery is why you use high-quality fuses...to protect your system from damage when components don't work as designed.
hi amp. not good
Very true. I don't like the idea of this not shutting off when over max amperage. Thanks for the comment.
