I have the same battery monitor on a lithium battery charging with solar. I set the battery capacity and the percentage and it seems as if everything was great as the monitor percentage, time and ah was counting down when I had load. However when the battery is charging the monitor won't show a charge coming in and the ah will not go back up even when no load is on. The charge controller shows charge coming in but the monitor just counts down but never back up.

I had the same problem with the same values ​​of panels, the voltage was different a few volts I put a resistor of 0.12 ohms in series on each panel and suddenly I have more power The panel with the highest voltage is dominant, other ones below it will not be taken along by the charger mppt

I had a 48V, 4000W solar off-grid inverter setup using LiFePO4 batteries for night-time backup, but a few days back the inverter developed a fault and crashed giving off grey- smoke. I also have an old similar 24V-DC inverter unit which I can use provided I can find a way to hookup the 48V batteries I have with this. Please advise how will it possible. I don't want to buy a new set of 24V batteries. Regards

You have demonstrated that there is cold charging “protection” at 1.4 degrees F, but have not determined at what temperature this is activated. A temperature of 1.4F is a lot colder than 32 degrees F, where cold cell charging damage begins. Your “test” results are meaningless pertaining to a safe charge protection level cutoff.

I think that the problem is people don’t understand electrical power and how it works you need good connections and they should be checked every once in a while that they are tight and wire size is a problem it takes big cables to move dc voltage check your system and stay safe

I think a lot of the problems we might have with parallel LiFePo4 batteries is more of a long term degradation issue as the "newer" or "Better" batteries have to work harder to boost the lesser batteries. I use 3 100ah batteries in parallel to supplement my system in the barn where I have 3 deep freezers. One battery is 2 years old and the other two are only a few months old. I run them through a Bluetti to make sure the freezers can run at least 2 days. The system gives me approximately 5kw of juice and has a total of 1200 watts of solar that is split between the Bluetti and a solar charge controller. The batteries basically act as a slow charger for the Bluetti. When I only had one battery it was common for the system to run out of juice when I had a cloudy morning. Since I am running a 12v system, and only pulling 10 amps MAX when running, I expect these three batteries to last for many years. I need to set up an experiment like you have and see how each individual battery performs. Maybe the older battery is hurting the system, but it serves my needs in that the batteries and the Bluetti are often pressed into other applications on the farm. I'll snatch one of the batteries to use for running a sprayer or a small trolling motor on occasion and then just hook it back into the string. I do have electricity out at the barn, but use this system for giggles and to have a backup. Sort of a "proof of concept" that, for only about $3,000, I can save $.60 a day. ROI is about 13.7 years. Yay me!!!

Definitely do not like the alfaa based on this test. I will stick with the CNswipower one I got. 3200 watts at 12 volts and it is silent and comes with good connections for the battery cables. They also make them for higher dc voltage.

lol my 400watt black and decker inverter started action up so i took it apart to see whats wrong and i noticed one of the wires was loose so i fixed and it when i went to put it back in its old plastic case that looks metal lol well i ended up ripping off a capacitors so now it wont work at all so i have to fix that now and i just threw out all my old cpactiors lol i like fixing things so i collect all old parts out of old TV and radieos and exc. so yeah not happy atleast i still have my cheap 30 dollar 500watt inverter from EBAY and i got a 50% percent discount when i told the seller it shocked me lol

What are the binding post connections for the 24V Inverter rated at.. ? Possibly only 100A if they are of top quality, and well terminated.

If you look at the connections you see the insulator sticks out past the flat copper so the connection never even makes contact correctly. The solution is chipt all the way around both isolaters. I cchipped around my first inverter but to bussy to do it to my second inverter just knock on wood i get tired of working on stuff especially brand new stuff

The only way you can successfully run different panels is with separate charge controllers. Otherwise you are just wasting your money on “bigger” panels. The output of multiple charge controllers to the battery is not an issue. They don’t have to communicate to each other, no special settings, no special wiring.

Hello, I recently bought a 110 watt 12v solar panel and I have a 24v 100ah battery. Can I charge my battery with that solar panel? Base on my calculator, It will take 3.32 days to fully charge it. 2560 watt battery (25.6vx100ah) and 2560watt/110watt is 23.27 charge time, assume peak 7 hours each day. Thus, I need about (23.27 charge time/7 hours) 3.32 days to fully charge.

Does any car batteries work with this setup?

Thanks so much for this - I contacted Bluetti support to ask if it was possible to charge my EB55 direct from a 12 volt leisure battery and they didn't seem to be able to answer that question! The step-up transformer is a great idea, I'm trying that for sure!

Your Theory is spot on. I have about 800 watts in solar panels not all the same wattage and at max I get about 360 watts during peak sun hours.

lol i blew up my renogy 10amp charge and thats like 50 dollars on AMAZON now not cool and the other cheap blue one i got from ebay years ago i blew up so i dont have nothign right now to use so owell and my new renogy wanderer 30amp charge controller was sapsot to be here today but nope of course not lol anyways not having good luck these last few days not at all but owell so i need to buy a cheap 10 dollar one like the blue one in this video and i wanted to buy the renogy wanderer 10amp charger but that went up doubble in price for some reason so thats not good so i guess ill just buy another 30amp renogy wanderer off AMAZON instead of EBAY lol

Just a quick WARNING. I'm not saying don't do it. Just be aware. Bonding the neutral to ground can be risky. Some inverters will be destroyed. If connecting a fuse between the ground and neutral on your inverter causes the fuse to blow, then don't. Use a 1/2 amp, fast acting fuse and cross your fingers. The chassis on some inverters may have live voltage on it, but this is probably rare unless the ground on the outlet is bonded to the chassis. The point is, the ground wire on everything plugged in to the inverter will be hot.

Seems like a good choice if you at need to draw high current in a pinch and keep in mind the lack of safety shutoff. Install a circuit breaker if it makes you feel better.

In parallel, the solar voltages will average out itself - that is, the 24v and the 18v will give an average of about 21vdc. Power companies parallel generators of different capacities all the time.

I been using this set up for a year with a 55 Inch tv but it was draining the battery to quick until i bought a 32 inch tv and it last way longer
