Hello My Beautiful People! Welcome back to a gorgeous evening in the garden! The Husband of Awesomeness and I just celebrated out 17th wedding anniversary with a quick trip to Maui with our kids! Unfortunately, we all got sick on the way home. We have been resting and recuperating but after 6 days I really really wanted/needed to paint! I was looking at my shelves of paints, and saw my Boom Gel Stains, and remembered that they can be used straight from the bottle, not needing to be mixed with anything. Tonight I am using the Boom Gel Stains and my Makita mini leafblower to do some Bloom style blow outs. Lets get started!
You can order Boom Gel Stains and Australian Floetrol from www.Fluid-art.co
Colors
Boom Gel Stains
Pearlescent Pearl
Pearlescent Watermelon
Begonia Burgundy
Pearlescent Violet
Pearlescent Cherry
Native Violet Purple
Metallic Gold
Pea Flower Orange
Amsterdam
Titanium White
(basecoat and CA)
Pouring Medium for basecoat:
Liquitex Gloss Medium
American Floetrol
There is NO Silicone
in Any of My Paint.
I cover the canvas with my Amsterdam Titanium White basecoat and tilt it to get rid of any extra paint, because I am not planning to tilt or spin out this canvas after I blow out the Boom Gels.
I put down small puddles of my Boom Gel colors, then use some of my White Cell Activator in the middle. I use my Makita mini cordless leafblower with a Progressive Trigger to blow the cell activator over the colors. This creates some beautiful cells! In the first bloom I use Pea Flower Orange, but once its blown out I don't like how it looks against the other colors.
I do two more blooms using the Cherry, Watermelon and Gold with the white cell activator. I love how they look, especially the wispy blown out tips of color.
After doing all three flowers, I decide I really don't like the orange in the first one, so I decide to scrape that one off and do it again without the offending orange.
After I scrape it off, I apply more of my basecoat paint to the canvas in the empty spot, then repeat the process making puddles of colors, applying the CA and then blowing them out with the leafblower.
I really like how this piece came out. The flowers are whimsical and pretty, the colors are bold and the small clusters of cells are really gorgeous.
I feel like I need a bit more practice blowing out my 'blooms', They were pretty but could definitely use some improvement.
Overall I am happy with this piece, using the Boom Gels when I wasn't feeling 100% and not having to mix paint was very nice. The colors are beautiful and stayed true, and the cells make me happy.
Thanks for hanging out with us today, I hope you enjoyed this little blow out!

I definitely agree with you on the orange. Not a pretty orange. Your end result is beautiful, as usual.

Hey Mina happy Anniversary with HoA . It's funny because we got married the same year so Éric and I will celebrate our 17th anniversary in october . I see you have a new Tatoo . You should show us in the next video . Looks cool . Those blooms are very pretty . Love the colors . Sending Hugzzzz 🥰🥰😘😘💕💕
Happy Anniversary to you too dear Manon! ❤️❤️❤️
This turned out so pretty. I love the mini leaf blower!
I would love to use this base. I don’t like the idea of using house paint.
Do you have a video showing the amounts?
Thanks.
I'm also not fond of using house paint - just cant seem to get the consistency right. If I use tlp's with the josonja and deep base, will it still work if I use your base of white and floetrol?
The problem with that,I think, would be that the deep base is actually a housepaint as well, it's just untinted. Maybe try it on a small canvas and see? If you're going to go with the Deep base it would be a safer bet just to use the housepaint as a base too, for consistency sake. I will ask a few more dedicated Bloom artists and get back to you..
@@MinaVillegasArt Thank you :-). I could ask on the Shelee group too as I've taken the course - just wondered if you had tried it. What do you mix your piggies with then? Just the isopropyl and floetrol?
Almost looks like glass!
