good video! I ordered the new catwoman last week and gotta wait another year, but sorta worried about the leather parts, but i dont have feel worried anymore with the option suggested in this video! Thank you for your tips!
Your very welcome! On the boots and sleeves that I used the fabric paint I feel makes her easier to pose and don’t have to worry about cracking or peeling. Some people may not like it though since it’s technically not screen accurate.
Oh man! I was looking on RUclips to help fix my Hot Toys The Crow figure which is flacking like heck. I’m scared to try these repairs. But I think I would use the acrylic paint because it give off that shine. Why can hot toys use real leather and if it’s to pricey go white black fabric even though it may not be 100% movie accurate! These figures ain’t cheap $200+ So give us real leather or some substitute that can last!! Keep putting good videos! I’ve watch a few and there are informative!
If they are dusty you can take a soft makeup brush to dust them off or even a microfiber cloth. I use a leather faux spray to maintain my pleather figures every 6 months or so.
Yikes... Grateful that I haven't seen this on any of my HT figures so far. Some of them are 14 years old, so far so good. I like your creativity in making the best of your crumbling figs though!
Best mod you didn’t mention, is buying new leather boots 1/6, or leather sheets and cut it and replicate it. If you have fully pleather stuff like darth Vader or cat women. It’s tough. That’s why I only at most buy figures with pleather parts not fully pleather. Because i know what might happen. Never had peeling personally. Maybe it’s my location!
@@Mogonly yeah for sure, buying new parts is an option m! My video was more for experimenting how to fix at a very low cost and if it would still look presentable. I’m def with you on trying to avoid pleather outfits if possible. Hot toys just needs to step up their game and offer leather materials. Thanks for watching!
Have you tried using spray on vinyl fabric paint? It will get you closer to the factory vinyl Hot Toys probably used on the outfit. It coats thicker and flexible simulating that pleather look.Be sure to research the finish each brand has more shine some have satin.Dupli-color and Krylon have positive reviews.
I like your Liquitex acrylic paint idea. I'm going to try it on my Hot Toys Deadpool figure because all the black pleather on his costume has flaked off. If it turns out anything like your Catwoman figure, I'll be happy.
I was happily surprised with how the liquitex turned out and really can’t tell the difference when I’m more than a foot or two away! Hope it works for you as well!
@@ashtoncrosby3517 honestly, I wouldn’t because the pattern on the suit is very very particular, and even if you don’t pose it when displaying the pleather will crumble eventually
Got a Sideshow Batman Premium format and his trunks are peeling, might have to give this a shot. Great video and thanks for sharing!
No problem! Hope it works for you!
Another great video mate loving young groots christmas hat too lol 😆 this is one figure I'd love the reissue on the hit list for sure 👍
There are def a few figures in the display feeling festive haha. As always, thanks for watching!

Why did I like this so much 😂
Cause you’re awesome! 🤣
Is the tulip spray flexible? Like does it crack or crease when the fabric is bent?
It’s just as flexible as if you didn’t paint it. Works great!
The jacket from my threezero Negan figure is peeling, i may have to opt out for this method.
It’s worth a shot!
Need it done on my Yondu’s trench coat is starting to peal sadly.
@@Gatchaman01 damn… 😭
Hi, for darth vader suit wich one do you recomend?
Tough call as I haven’t had to use it on Vader but I would think the black acrylic paint would replicate the leather look more.
@@thejediknightswatch thanks !

I agree, with what we are paying it’s not too much to expect leather goods. Some figures already come with it. Make it the norm!
I have the luke bespin and the boots are getting dusty do you know how to repair or take care of that type of material pls

Can this method be used for the gold pleather for hot toys spider man gold integrated suit
I’m not 100% sure as I don’t own that fig. My buddy does so maybe I can check his out next time I’m there.

Thanks! Yeah, hopefully it doesn’t happen but nothing lasts forever right?

Looks good, better than the peeling
Haha exactly! Worth a shot on some of these old figures.
Can you use the sealer? For a small shine?
Yes you could. Not sure if it would harden the material though
Where do you get that spray from
Amazon. It’s linked in the description😀

I’ll def keep an eye out for that!
hey, you did do an update! good stuff.
Haha thanks for watching! I also used this method on a Star Wars Pauldron that worked really well.

You got it!👍🏻
@@MegaManXtoys hi, any updates on your Deadpool figure ?
Instead of using normal acrylic paint, use Angelus Acrylic Leather paint.
Unfortunately I don’t think it’s a something you can get around.. all pleather will do this after a while
Is it even worth it to buy Darth Vader then?

You talk a lot pretty annoying
