Kindles are just so much more comfortable to read on. You’re not kidding about the battery life either. I rarely have to charge mine. So many great points made!
Thanks for this easy review from a lady perspective. I'm ordering a kindle paperwhite for my woman's birthday today. She does an unhealthy amount of reading on her mobile phone well into the night at times, & I want to fix that while still allowing her to enjoy her reading more healthily. A follow video on kindle accessories would be super.
I’ve been really trying to find a balance between physical copies vs. kindle editions. I think I’ve decided that I’ll read on kindle first and then if I love the books, then I’ll buy the physical version! I do love my Kindle so much! I think it’s accessible, easy to travel with, read at night, and everything you’ve said!
Yes there are so many good KU options!! But I feel the same way! although most of the books where I am now are in a different language so that does make it easier to not go and buy books as much as I was haha
I don’t have a Kindle yet, but I have the app on my iPad mini. I really love the Goodreads notes! I annotate and talk to the characters like some people talk to movie actors. “What are you doing? Don’t go down that hallway!”😂
@@Sullsworld I have the first generation iPad mini. I’ve had it for over 10 years! I only read Kindle books on it, so I never saw a reason to upgrade. 🤷🏽♀️ Yes, my notes are pretty comical! I get really engaged. 😂🫠
If you use kindle unlimited and have to return books constantly and you like to “keep” them in you library, what you can do is download the sample after you finished and that way you can keep track of what you have read and still “have” them in your library! As far as storage, you should only worry if you plan on having thousands of books. I have 400 and only 1 GB has been used 💃🏻
Thanks for the push I needed to finally buy a Kindle paperwhite! I transferred all my Google books to it and I'm obsessed with it! I already ordered a case, screen protector, and a bunch of stickers to decorate it! Also I love the random cat moments happening in the background throughout the video 😂
I agreed with everything you’ve said! I have had 4 kindles and have never been disappointed. When I read a book on kindle I like I’ll sometimes buy a physical copy. I also love Kindle Unlimited, it’s definitely worth the money.
That’s one of the things I wasn’t really sure of! The longevity, if you’ve had four would you say they last well over long periods of time?? I definitely agree though :)
I gifted myself a Kindle last year as a birthday present to “try it out.” I must say I treated myself well with that present. I love it! Just drop it in my bag and pull it out whenever I have a free moment to read. I had used my iPad mini previously but it’s heavy and the glare was too much. I can comfortably read in bed and my cats can still get a proper cheek scratch on the corners without making me lose my page. I hit the like button immediately when I saw your cat 😂😻
Hahaha well stick around and you’ll see all 4 cats in the videos! I love that you gifted it to yourself though! I never even considered the glare. I’m glad your cats love it too 😻
Kindle is such a game changer for me. I have really bad eyes and being able to adjust the text size is so helpful. I'm finally ale to read comfortably for hours without getting a headache. Still love physical books tho.
I still have my original kindle I purchased back in 2007. I now have the kindle paperwhite, love the fact it’s waterproof and the back light. I love to read at night before bed.
Hi, Im totally new here, but can I just say you are SUPERLIKEABLE! Like, instantly you just feel like such a sweet person. Cant wait to see more videos from you.
I love my Kindle paperwhite! I also want the Kindle Oasis. I was just telling my friend how much I love my Kindle, because if I'm reading outside of the house, and am not reading a physical copy, my phone is too small, and my iPad is too big so the Kindle is perfect! I also read books way faster on the Kindle than physical copies. Although, I do end up buying the physical copies of the books I really like that I've read on the Kindle. I love Kindle Unlimited, it has a ton of options, but I've noticed ebooks that aren't on KU are almost the same price as physical books...
I haven't looked into the Oasis too much what do you like about it? And that is true it's perfect for taking anywhere! Maybe it is just different depending on region? Where I am from in Canada books are so expensive lol
For me it's much easier and faster to read laaaarge books on Kindle, they are heavy and difficult to read. And it's less daunting to read them when you don't see when you have 600 more pages to read 🤣 I turn off my page number so I don't keep checking how much I got left.
I cancelled KU because i realised I had over 200 books already collected over the years from sales and stuff your kindle days 😂 so my goal this year is not to buy any new books. And I have at least 40 physical unread books.
I have an 8th generation Kindle e-reader that I bought in 2018. It doesn't even have backlights 😂. I want to upgrade to the Paperwhite but that seems wasteful when this one is still working so well. I love the dictionary, translation, and Wikipedia feature. I find I miss it when reading a real book. Battery life is still amazing! I am connected to the Libby app and have yet to find a book the library doesn't have in their catalog. Prior to watching book and kindle reviews, I thought all libraries were as great as my local library. I am realizing I am quite lucky our state has such a vast library system.
Haha well if you do upgrade this one maybe you can gift the 8th gen to someone who is considering a kindle? :) I know what you mean though, my kindle has made me lazy... I am constantly like "well guess I won't know what that word means" while reading physical copies now 🤣. I feel like I completely under utilized the library system for where I am from and I am kicking myself it. I am so jealous!!
Hello , I just forund your channel . Liked the video, I dont have a Kindle as of yet . This helped me to decide if it was right for me or not . Oh and your cat is cool . thank you for sharing your thoughts .
This is a good tutorial ruclips.net/video/dIfumzC05RY/видео.html&ab_channel=KaylaLeRoux from @KaylaLeRoux The lit homebody on Instagram I think might have created the OG tutorial as well. But essentially the epub "picture" you send to your kindle will be recognized as a book, I just switch to that one whenever I don't like the cover of what I'm currently reading and close it and it should save as the background, then I switch back to what I'm currently reading when I open it back up again. Hope that helps!
Hey Sul! I was wondering if you know if the kindle can highlight in different colours? I want to highlight specific themes as colours in a book and am unsure if it’s capable.
I plan to buy it on Prime Day. You said that the library is limited. I have a lot of epubs that I planned to add. Would the limit affect that? And how much is the limit?
That’s a good plan! The borrowing of free kindle books is limited to 20, but books you just have, like epubs you send to your kindle would take up storage instead. So if you pick a 8gb or even a 32gb kindle it’ll take up some of that storage. However I think if you are reading just e books without lots of graphics you’ll be able to have many many books/epubs and not run out of storage on an 8gb.
@@rachaelm7084 I totally understand! I think there are a lot of features to consider, I know people love that you can get colour with kobo too but for me personally kindle just worked best with how much I like to read/mood reading, and especially with Libby not being a thing in Portugal from my understanding. I hope the one you get is the right fit for you!
I understand not using amazon. I've heard a lot of good things about Kobo too, and the library access with Kobo is really nice for Canadians so thanks for sharing the tips :)
