Tokyo Ghoul is my second favorite series after Attack on Titan and it saddens me so much that it got the anime adaptation it did. If Nick did reactions to the manga I think that would go so hard. Ishida is my all time favorite artist and Tokyo Ghoul is full of so much amazing artwork. I can only hope that his current manga Choujin X gets a proper anime adaptation eventually
I'd like to see a remake one day, but I just don't believe it will happen. TG lost a lot of traction and hype at the end, partially because of Ishida's mental state, so it's not like we're looking at "that insane classic that has to have a remake" unfortunately :( I'd have killed for a proper adaptation though - this series gave me life. Never before it have I ever attempted to analyze some symbolisms, religous aspects etc about a manga.
Tokyo ghoul is such a failed wasted masterpiece. Like even with just average art and animation, the anime shouldn't be that bad. They butchered the anime adaptation so bad. 25:04 I wasn't watching the live unfortunately because of my timezone, but i honestly want to say that A-1 pictures would be a very good choice for a remake of Tokyo Ghoul. They proved many times that they know how to make good animations, their staff teams are usually very competent people and I don't think i ever saw them going off from the source material they take (Correct me if i am wrong). But anyways, if you want a good example of A-1 pictures there are pieces of work like Fate/Strange fake, Sword Art Online (say what you want about the story but the anime was very well made), 86 and the most recent Solo Leveling (which can't be told much about since only 1 episode is out and it wouldn't be fair to give it a great score just from 1 episode).
Same thought on my mind mate, I do believe A-1 Pictures will be the best to animate TG as it has lot of blood, dark and gory scenes as well as futuristic, and they have all ready animated shows like like 86, Solo Levelling now, which put kind of similar scenarios and vibes. I really hope someone would do.

Hey, there's 1 vampire in anime that stands above the rest, and that is Alucard from Hellsing Ultimate, the most badass, terrifying and crackheaded vampire in fiction history! If you haven't seen it, please watch it!
It might be a bit similar to the typical vampire story, but I think that vanitas no carte is also a great vampire story. I mean the manga was written by jun Mochizuki, the author of pandora hearts. Also the anime was made by studio bones and directed by the Monogatari series director, with the OSTs composed by Yuki Kajiura.

This was literally the first manga I brought. I hadn't read it but it was popular at the time and I brought the first volume, fell in love with it. The I watched the anime and...yeh. They really screwed it up. This should have been one of the best anime adaptations and it got screwed over big time. Both this and its sequel Tokyo Ghoul Re. The live action Movie they did WAS good though. I did like that. That worked for what it was and the arcs they adapted. I'd love nothing more to see a remake/truer version of this done one day, properly instead of the rushed, cheap mess we ended up with.
My biggest problem with the anime was how much season 2 wasn't canon. They took away so much canon content and replaced it with boring filler and then when season 3 came along it pretended that none of that filler happened and that the viewer only read the manga continuing off on events that only occurred in the manga and not the anime so anyone who didn't read the manga would be left confused to what was happening. Not to mention season 4 had so much cut content it wasn't even like a season it was just a very long PV of the manga
Just watch the 1st season of TG and stop watching spoilers, please! The 1st season is actually insane and faithful to the manga and has one of the best season endings ever. Great sound design and Ist. It's a must! After that read the manga the anime is trash...

I haven't gotten to the end yet, so forgive me if I'm saying something that Gigguk will eventually say but IDK that an anime CAN adequately express the manga. The manga is art and some of the things that the mangaka does (like the extreme shading, the speech panels coming out of the bubbles to show insanity, the characters literally melting down the page, etc) just doesn't translate to animation. I'd love them to actually TRY though. TG was as popular as AOT back in 2013 ish (if not more, tbh) and it really needs more recognition.
Fate have a few series and movie, the top 5 animation series/movies is not even animated by ufotable, ufotable is overrated, the animation looka good mostly because of the compositing such as effect, lightning and colour

I watched the whole Tokyo ghoul anime and it was fire but if people are saying it was ruined then it must be even better than that right? I mean there was A LOT things I was confused about like Haise Sasaki to me was a stupid idea and I was actually fooled into thinking kaneki was dead for a long time. The first season lives rent free in my head though, absolute peak of the anime. Season 2 was alright but it started to skip a lot of details just to go to the action which I really did not like but was still able to "detective" most of them. I just hope that season 1 was like the manga, that way if they do a remake it will have that dark grunge tone which I thought was what TG was all about, but ive never read the manga so i have no clue if it really is.
