Just a quick note to let you know how much I appreciate your tutorial. I did try and learn from the same pattern, but a different person, and their hands kept getting in the way and they were just a little too fast for me. Thank you so much for taking your time and being aware of what we needed to see.
❤ You have explained this pattern astonishingly well with directions that take the mystery of Mosaic back into the realm of you can do it! thank you!!!!!
Thank you soooooo much for this clear, lovely tutorial. This is the first time ever I found out how simple it is to do a mosaic crochet. I am a visual learner, sometimes I follow the pattern once understood and have tried a few times to do mosaic crochet, but this video is the best! Thank again for so patiently and clearly in showing how to do it. You are calm and no rush involved in making this video. Greetings to you from Thelma in New Zealand
Thank you so much for such a clear and great step by step example ,I have been terrified to even try mosaic crochet but you have given me the confidence to try this pattern and I hope to see more of you tutorials so ican advance my crochet knowledge with you ,thanks again
I have done many mosaic crochet before but with different way. Designer Tinna's patterns. There were loose ends on both sides and it's difficult to hide them so had to do border. This is a nice way to do without loose ends. Liked this technic
Thank you so much for this tutorial - it came just in time! I had just completed one mosaic crochet project and was ready to start another. But I like to work from charts, and my previous mosaic project used Xs on the chart, and ended every row by cutting your yarn at the end of each row before changing to the 2nd color. So imagine my surprise when I saw patterns like the one with regular crochet symbols - with no Xs and no cutting! I was so confused, but your tutorial cleared it all up. Thanks again & I'll be starting this project really soon!
This video makes the chart easier for me to understand as a beginner. In one of the books I'm reading abt mosaic crochet, it suggests to make one more chain than the number of stitches being skipped when making chain spaces. So using this pattern, I made 3 chains then skip 2 chains to make the chain space
Thank you very much.I liked this technique bcz I've seen many videos where they always cut the yarn in every row and for my that was a mess !!! I will definitely try this way when make my next mosiac . Thank you again.
I was of the same opinion as you are but I tried the technique after watching a tutorial and I’m hooked now. The ends are not a problem and they are worked into a double border.
Cutting the yarn after each row is done in OVERLAY mosaic crochet. The ends are then encased between a double border (on a blanket or coaster or such) or can be twisted braided let as fringe or tassels. You should always check whether the pattern is INSET or OVERLAY so you can do the preferred method. It’s very frustrating when the type of mosaic crochet isnt indicated. Don’t assume all mosaic crochet is performed the way INSET is described in this tutorial.
I love how you walked through this using the written pattern and the diagram because I’m self taught and the symbols always confused me but this made sense and now it’s not so daunting! I’ve been dying to try this technique but it seemed overwhelming. This has simplified it in my head and I think I can successfully attempt it now.
Wow, so glad I found this video, I love Mosaic crochet, and this is such a different, and unique pattern, love it, very good instructions, thank you so much!!!
Thank you for this great tutorial. I particularly like the way you link the written pattern with the pattern diagram. Diagrams are quite scary for me, so this is a good way of easing into them. Very useful time line references on the video too, e.g "set up row 2" which make rewinding/forwarding easy.
I switched this up a bit to avoid having to do the chains and skips, which made my project a lot tighter and cleaner feeling to me. I think the only reason the chains and skips are in there is to have something to attach the doubles to from two rows up, but if you look up the video called "Sholach - Mosaic crochet - getting started video" by Get Yer Hook On (it's not my channel, I just did that project and liked the technique so adapted it for this project), you can see how you can do this differently. First of all you only work from right to left, you don't work on the wrong side at all... then cut the yarn and start from the right again, this means every other row would be just straight single stiches all of the way across. If you do that then all of your stitches tilt forward and you can do your singles into ONLY the back of the stich, leaving the front of the stitch for the doubles to attach to later. go see the other video so you can understand what I mean by this.
I've never seen this method either. I also got confused with the separation of multiples of same stitches. (4sc in next 4 sts, then 6sc in next 6sc🤔) why not just say SC in___ amt of sts total? I constantly felt as if I had missed a special stitch.
I do back loop only. But then a double row and instead of cutting I carry up the sides.. the skip a space and chain 2 thing really screwed me up.. and for over 7 years.. I couldn't figure out a blanket pattern I bought and was so frustrated after 2 years of trying that I gave up crochet for awhile. After I started again I decided to use my own technique which is just really a bunch of other people's ways combined.
OMG...this was SOOOO HELPFUL!!! I am so glad you did this video and explained the stitch. But, it was great that you broke down and explained the chart (I'm new so reading a chart can be confusing at times). NOTE: I REALLY wish the Eyelet Knit Cocoon was available in a crochet pattern too. It looks so comfy, but I can't knit. Thanks!!!
Hi! We're so happy to hear that you found this video useful. We'll pass on your request for a crochet version of the Eyelet Knit Cocoon pattern to our team. -Betty
Hello! What a great video!! First time I understood how to read the chart - nice way to show as you are working!! My question: how do I design my own mosaic patterns? Any advice on this?
Hi can I make my foundation chain row as long as I want for this pattern to make a blanket or anything else that i would like to create with this pattern 😅 and i understand and you go very slow with mosaic pattern
Wow I really love this design. I have just finished a very simple mosaic design blanket and now ready for my next challenge. Could you please tell me what your wool is and what the ply (Im Australian) is and what size crochet hook you used. Do you do a particular border. My main reason for txt you is where do I get the the written and diagram chart from. Thanks again June Flemmer 😊😊
Excellent instructions!!! What are the multiples for Mosaic crocheting?? Are there certain types of yarn that work better than other yarns for this type of stitch?? Thank You!!
I absolutely love ❤️ this tutorial. What yarn did you in this video? May I hear from you ASAP so I can get started on this blanket for a Christmas gift?
I'm just curious about the reason for working the mosaic double crochet in front of your work. Won't that create a lot of loose chains on the wrong side?
Thanks for sharing so many projects with us. It is not always easy to understand written patterns when I'm trying a new skill. The sound is great but the camera angle not so much. The angle on Mikey's videos is much better. Could you zoom out a bit or have the camera looking at the stitching rather than her right pointer finger knuckle please and thank you?
I am desperate to see the end of the pattern with the bobble stripe. How do you guys have a video for everything but the snow capped mosaic afghan.... I have no clue how I'm gkjng to finish this blanket without detailed help with the bobble stripe. How do I get help???
Hi! I just arrived in the channel and I loved this extension you use on your crochet hook. it is much more comfortable to work. Can you tell where I can buy it? and please put the option of subtitles in Portuguese and Spanish. kisses from Portugal 🇵🇹!
I love doing this. I am legally blind and was able to follow your instructions well. I was wondering how I get more of your patterns? Obviously video is how I Kroesche.
Why is my single crochet stitch not working? The two middle stitches are too small and you cannot see my small stitches? There veering to the left not the middle. I even chged hook size.
This is why the written pattern was a little too wordy and confusing- why not say 8 SC at beginning of row, chain 2, skip two, SC in next 10 stitches...and make sure your chain 2 spaces line up row to row. Even the pattern diagram seemed off....Mikey does a better explanation on his mosaic blanket video..also he says to chain 2, but skip only one space b/c it lies flatter that way? Is that true?
@@susane4576 Me too!! It still wokred out but i was getting pissed because I already invested a bit to get started and was going to be really pissed if I wasnt able to continue.
I had this problem on row 6 when reading the pattern, I was following the instructions to sc 10 but my chains were not working out towards the end of the row, had to come back to the video for confirmation
Hey, just wondering if for future videos could you put the stitch terms in the title? please! It would of been so helpful if you put that you use US terms, this would be great for beginners as well.
Good video but would've been better if you did at least 2 full repeats btwn the beginning and the end to better understand the count. Written pattern is a little confusing the way it breaks up the stitch count so the diagram really helps. Thanks.
this patterns makes sense to me but why is it considered mosaic crochet because they aren’t worked in the back stitches and your working on the wrong side?
It's a nice stitch but difficult to follow because your hands and project are way to the left of the screen and you need to zoom in more to show the actual stitching. Otherwise it's great
17:32 I think this is the first time I’ve understood a pattern chart. Thank you!!
Just a quick note to let you know how much I appreciate your tutorial. Beginner here. Really appreciate the thorough guidance, clear footage and you taking the time to explain how to read the pattern. Many, many thanks.
Really good voice and teaching style. Kinda matter-of-fact, "You can =do= this!" Very clear instruction. I think I finally get it!
what an awesome tutorial! Thanks for teaching how to "read your own work". This is very helpful

Super demo and explanation of learning the mosaic stitch. Excellent timing and voice. I think I can do this now. Thanks!
I think you teach this so good. Just learning in 2023.. thanks
I have done many mosaic crochet before but with different way. Designer Tinna's patterns. There were loose ends on both sides and it's difficult to hide them so had to do border. This is a nice way to do without loose ends. Liked this technic
Oh my goodness. Amazing. Incredible. Thank you for the side by side demonstration with following symbols. The pace is perfect. So wonderful
Nice explanation of mosaic crochet pattern. This was paced exactly right for a beginner and easy to understand. Thank you.
Wow! This is beautiful and relatively easy. Your explanations and examples are terrific. Thank you so much!

First time watching a mosaic pattern and I understood clearly. Thanks very much for the tutorial. 🙌💓
Fabulous pattern and wow what a comprehensive tutorial. You’re a natural teacher. Thank you. I can’t wait to try my first mosaic.
Wow, at last I got it!! What an amazing and elegant stitch!! Thank you so much for teaching me, excellent tutorial. From Costa Rica, a big hug. 😊😊😊
Thank you for sharing this tutorial. I had never considered even trying the mosaic stitch until now!!!
Thank you very much.I liked this technique bcz I've seen many videos where they always cut the yarn in every row and for my that was a mess !!! I will definitely try this way when make my next mosiac . Thank you again.

Hervorragend erklärt, jetzt habe ich es verstanden. Auch super, wie man ein Diagramm liest. Danke fürs zeigen.

fantastic teaching! Appreciate all your efforts to explain the details both verbally and with graphics! Amazing! Thank you so much!
Wow, so glad I found this video, I love Mosaic crochet, and this is such a different, and unique pattern, love it, very good instructions, thank you so much!!!
Oh thank you! I honestly couldn't wrap my head around how people are doing these . This video was extremely enlightening! Thanks again .
You’re a gifted Teacher! Thank you for this step by step. Wonderful photography as well👍
This was so easy to follow! Thank you!
Beautiful, no ends!
Thank you - so well taught... I have watched a few tutorials which left me baffled. Your clear instructions and diagrams are excellent.
This is terrific! I see a beautiful mosaic handbag in southwestern colors on the horizon!!!!! Thanks very much!!!😊👜
Excellent tutorial, you made it so much easier than it looks. Thank you!
Well done! Thanks for emphasizing following your work visually.
Thank you. Great tutorial. Very well done. Great explanation. You make it look easy.
Thank you for this great tutorial. I particularly like the way you link the written pattern with the pattern diagram. Diagrams are quite scary for me, so this is a good way of easing into them.
Very useful time line references on the video too, e.g "set up row 2" which make rewinding/forwarding easy.
What a great video. Really helps a beginner like me to read and work with patterns. Thank you so much!!
Brilliant tutorial for beginners...very well explained. Thank you
Thank you, Now I finally understand!
Please explain to newbies that this is a different technique from other mosaic designers, such as Tinna.
I just love this mosaic pattern, it’s lovely! Thank you !👍😃❣️

I was looking for a comment mentioning the back loop only. I had never seen Yarnspiration method of skipping stitches. Interesting technique.

Hello! What a great video!! First time I understood how to read the chart - nice way to show as you are working!! My question: how do I design my own mosaic patterns? Any advice on this?
Excellent tutorial! I’m going to start the Catch A Wave blanket and wanted to learn this stitch! 😊
Hi, can you make this in a round? I would like to do a mosaic crochet purse for my mama...
It would be helpful to see the chart/pattern you’re crocheting to follow along
Muchas gracias se agradece la opción de subtitulos en español!!!!
Hi can I make my foundation chain row as long as I want for this pattern to make a blanket or anything else that i would like to create with this pattern 😅 and i understand and you go very slow with mosaic pattern

Super pomocny filmik, dziękuję
Are there multiples of chains I must use. I want to make the pattern smaller but not sure how many chains to start.
Bonito mosaico.
Cómo puedo conseguir esa aguja de crochet?? Parece muy cómoda.

I am specifically looking for more mosaic crochet patterns with out the multiple threads on each side.
Great clear instructions. BTW where did you find your hook?. I love the handle.
Where is the diagram? Where can I find the PDF ? Please you did not let here
How do I print the pattern?
so its 8 sc at start ?
Where do you get the pattern?
What hook are you using

I agree I watched that 2nd row like 5 times thinking I was missing something. Too confusing 😕

Where can I find a written pattern for this?
Wouldn't it be simpler to say 8 st. CH. 2 sk 2 8st.???
😱 NICE❤️🙏
Real nice. Where do I find the pattern for it so I can use with the video, please? Thank u for the tutorial
Hi Tommy,
All the patterns shown in this tutorial are linked in the video description. Happy crafting! -Betty
What is this type of mosaic crochet called? It is not the Overlay Mosaic Crochet I know.
Inset mosaic crochet
Unfortunately she moves a little too quickly to keep up and the pattern is 29 stitch base not 31.. can't seem to figure it out.
so wish there was a left hand version of this
I don’t have sound on my video. Anyone else?
Hey, just wondering if for future videos could you put the stitch terms in the title? please! It would of been so helpful if you put that you use US terms, this would be great for beginners as well.

this patterns makes sense to me but why is it considered mosaic crochet because they aren’t worked in the back stitches and your working on the wrong side?
The yarnspiration pattern is a little bit different
Explication a little complex what with the *repeat * which is hard to understand if one hasn't got the written pattern as well!
Would have been better if the line from pattern instructions were given along with the explanation.
Why don't you say you crochet 8 single crochet at the start of each fow? Why sc2 and sc6? Did I miss something?
