We see you posting all these tutorials for free and we appreciate it!! I know your other content gets more views and probably promotes more income because of that… but those of us watching the tutorials appreciate you, Toni!!!!
OK imma have to watch this one another fiftyleven times with a notebook and study. I've wanted to learn this technique for a long time and always been afraid of failing at it (goofy, I know) but this looks approachable. Thank you, Toni!
I was just watcing a video of someone making a bucket hat with letters. And I was thinking: "Imma need a tutorial on this 😆" cause it looked nice and I needed a more in depth video. And here comes Toni to the rescue! 🙌💖
Thanks for the great tutorial. The 2 chains help the double crochet stitches lay flatter than the usual mosaic crochet. I love mosaic crochet blankets, especially Apache tears, to use up scraps. To avoid weaving in the nasty amount of tails, I crochet the double crochet envelop border. Gives a beautiful finish and some nice weight to the edges.
I have fallen in love with mosaic crochet over the past few weeks, currently working on a jumper with a mosaic crochet tapestry in the centre, but I find that everyone does it different! Will definitely be trying out this method, i've never seen it done like this before!
I've been trying for MONTHS to figure out what a technique was called after I made a pillow using it for my Grandma. It's Mosaic!!! Thank you so much fr, you've saved me 🤣
Same here, these English terms keep me struggling. Fair Isle, stranded colorwork, Intarsia, Mosaic and Tapestry, all the Colorwork Crochet techniques names are a huge mess in my brain, and I have the projects, but can't, for the life of me, point the method's name.
This is a perfect tutorial for learning how to read these charts! Thx, Toni! I could not work on this type of crochet with anyone home. My brain hurts! 🤭🤣 Much appreciated, tho! 😊👍🧶
Thank you for this video! I love learning new techniques! One thing I have learned in working from charts...I put the ruler above the row I am working so I can see the previous rows as well, just as the piece I am working on shows them as well.
I am so excited to get started on this CAL!! I watched MJ's Off The Hook Designs videos on mosaic crochet and it is a beautiful technique. Very happy you included it in this CAL because I haven't actually tried mosaic crochet yet. I may have to get started early!!
Omg I've been obsessed with mosaic crochet lately, but I've been only working in the round with overlay mosaic to avoid the ends (working on a top down mosaic raglan with Happy Place currently). I've been searching for a good inset mosaic video, this is absolutely perfect! Thanks for being such an excellent teacher.
I had just about given up on trying to learn Mosaic Crochet. You are beyond amazing! I simply can not thank you enough for taking me down yet another rabbit hole (you first had me at tunisian
Thank you , Toni, I'm so excited to try this technique. Don't have the time and yarn quantity that a whole blanket required, but definitely will make this square! 💖
Tony, I was so hesitant to try mosaic because I thought it was too complicated, but now it seems so easy. I wonder if tapestry crochet is just as easy? I can't wait to do this.
I made my first tapestry crochet a month ago and don't be me and do one with 5 colors! I spent more time untangling yarn than crocheting 😅 It was so fun to see the image reveal itself though
Also me thinking "it's crazy that there's a video tutorial for the exact stitches I'm needing to learn for the crochet along" and then me realizing these are because they for the Crochet Along. 😂❤
How did I not catch that till this comment?! Here I was just getting giddy over all the new video tutorials she was throwing at us all-the -sudden! lol
I've been doing tge overlay mosiac for 4 yrs in not sure I can remember to work with the chain 2. Will have to try it. It is nice not to have all the ends to weave in. Thanks for sharing. 😊😊
A question & a request: What's the difference between mosaic, intarsia, and tapestry? Could you please do a tutorial on how to read pattern charts? Especially those ones with all the lines and symbols. They look (to me) like somebody dumped a Tinkertoy set on the floor. 🤭
Hi Toni! Love from Brooklyn. I’ve been obsessed with mosaic crochet for a few months! This version seems another great alternative, no ends🤗🤗 i was wondering, are the charts for inset and overlay interchangeable? Do i have to buy all new patterns? Ps. I’m also getting that great magnetic board you’re using!! Thank you. I love all your videos
Have to admit I like Tunisian mosaic (no tails)--not sure if I would like inset mosaic or not. Only thing I haven't been able to work out in Tunisian mosaic are the diagonals.
I thought this was the normal way to change colors. Lol I always carry like this if I'm changing in close rows. It is nice to see his mosaic is done though. I've been eyeing for a while, just haven't taken the leap.
To clarify, color changes in standard mosaic crochet work differently than normal; mosaic crochet works each row in the same direction, rather than alternating back and forth, so you need to cut the yarn at the end (left) side to start a new row on the right. This inset method provides a way to get back to the right side without cutting by doubling the number of rows
I wonder if this could be easily adapted to make it double sided? My first attempt would be: when doing a DC, work into the front loop only of the stitch 3 rows below (instead of both loops) and leave 2 loops on the hook (like you're about to do a DC decrease), then do a DC in the back loop of that same stitch three rows below but working on the wrong side of the work, and pull through all three loops to make one combined frankenstitch. Otherwise follow the pattern as listed and I'm pretty sure it would be double sided? One of my biggest peeves with mosaic is that the wrong side doesn't look very good at all so I only use it for placemats or items in the round, this could be great for a scarf or a shawl or a blanket where you're more likely to see both sides
I love your tutorials but I’m having a hard time locating the pattern charts. When I hit the link it takes me to your page but the page says pattern not available till 11/11. Is there something I’m missing?

Me too! I gotta take notes or else I’ll get confused! We can do this! 😊
Me too!! I’m doing that right now
I have tried about 5x now. I want to make a table runner so I want it 2x the size. My brain won't work😂😢
I was just watcing a video of someone making a bucket hat with letters. And I was thinking: "Imma need a tutorial on this 😆" cause it looked nice and I needed a more in depth video. And here comes Toni to the rescue! 🙌💖
Another great tutorial! You make things easy to understand. Your pace is great, not too slow, not too fast! Thank you!

This tutorial was easy to follow and you gave great instructions on how to pick up the stitch in the rows below and make them lay flat. Thank you.

You are such a lovely teacher. Thank you Toni for so nicely clarifying how to master this technique.❤️
Okay. Am I the only one who demands that you do a “show and tell” of your beautiful nails at the end of every tutorial?
heard :-D

I've been crocheting and knitting for 34 years and I am stiil learning new things from you ❤
Can't wait to try this technique on the Amour blanket. Love how the colors pop within the pattern.
Wow…I am amazed at how that came out. Definitely doing this square in my mix and match CAL blanket.
Hi thank you for this tutorial you make it easy to understand thankyou

Yes gurl!!! This is such an amazing way to mosaic crochet, and I have been getting VERY into it this year! So glad you are sharing this ❤
Thanks for the tutorial. I started a mosaic project earlier this year & I need to finish it.
IVE BEEN WAITING FOR YOU TO TEACH THIS ONE GIRLLL AHH SO EXCITED
I know exactly what I'm doing this weekend! 😊❤
This would be a perfect choice for a temperature blanket using the high and low for a day
Pls do more mosaic patterns! I learn so much from you.
Beautiful
Fantastic! I have to try this right now!
Lovely.
Damn girl so many tutorials one after the other 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥

The Crochet Crowd has an incredibly in depth video guide on how to read crochet charts, that's how I learned

hi! since inset has a wrong side row, the charts are not interchangeable. but, you can alter an overlay pattern to become inset.
Have to admit I like Tunisian mosaic (no tails)--not sure if I would like inset mosaic or not. Only thing I haven't been able to work out in Tunisian mosaic are the diagonals.
I like the magnetic board you are using to hold your pattern. Do yo have a link for that? Your videos and designs are great!

Can you do this tutorial with tunisian crochet? Please and thank you 😊
I don't know that one, but if I figure it out, I'll share it :-)
@TLYarnCrafts I know you will figure it out because YOU MASTER TUNISIAN CROCHET 👏🏼🥰
I have been able to use any mosaic graph in Tunisian mosaic except for diagonals--and I'll continue to work at that.
I am always curious as to how the back looks.
Over lay mosaic is when you work always on the right side and have all the tails right?
Hot take…I prefer inset mosaic over overlay mosaic. I don’t know why we don’t see more inset mosaic patterns
I'm curious, why is it dc and not treble when we drop down 3 rows?
Treble would be too tall :-)
I have to ask, how many colours should be in the amour kit? I don't have that red
@@selinamargetts6720 there are 4 colors in the project
How do us lefties deal with this pattern? Would making a copy of the pattern in a reverse image work?
You could also read right side left to right and wrong side right to left.
Lefties would just work the chart from left to right on row 1, instead of right to left :-)
Oh this is probably my problem! I have been trying different mosaic patterns for 3 days and they never work! 😂😢😅 I'm a lefty!
I love all your tutorials Toni but I am a leftie and I think I can understand the other type of mosaic crochet. 😢 sorry
You can mirror the video if that helps - check out this website, www.mirrorthevideo.com/
I love your tutorials but I’m having a hard time locating the pattern charts. When I hit the link it takes me to your page but the page says pattern not available till 11/11. Is there something I’m missing?
They're not available just yet. The pattern goes live on Monday :-)
this looks great but the chart is so light I can't really see it.
It'll be easier to see in person when the pattern goes live on Monday :-)
@@TLYarnCrafts is the pattern available now and if so where can I find it. Thank you
oh I found it!!!
