@Dziwak Marchew, I have social anxiety and have found the best way for me to have interactions is at my church. In my experience a lot of people are more genuine and kind which makes a more friendly environment. All the best to you!♥️
A note about the Deep FLEX: The deep is not deep enough for a lot of black and brown people. It shows up as orangey-brown on my skin tone. If you wear foundation, the deep is much closer to a medium foundation. I don't think Colorescience did their due diligence on testing Flex on black & brown people across the spectrum of shade ranges.
Finally tinted mineral sunscreen I can wear daily and not feel it, not see it! Thank you so much. I’ve spent so much money trying different sunscreens. Got this one and finally I’m happy. I purchased it as gifts as well.
Hello Dr. Dray. You introduced me to both Cerave and Colorescience. I love them both. I’m a senior, so I have to be careful with how I use sunscreen or cosmetics. You give very good advice. My skin has been very happy. Before Cerave, I used a bunch of expensive products from Sephora. My skin wasn’t very good. Now that I have switched over to some of the products that you have suggested, my skin is happier. I am also spending less money overall on cosmetics. I am now more concerned with skincare. I still do use some cosmetics but the condition of my skin is what sets the tone. Anyway, thank you for your videos. 😊🌹
I have to say! I tried the original because of your recommendation, and fell in love. Hands down! My favorite sunscreen next to the Elta MD Repair. Thank you for putting me on to it.
I'm glad you addressed the settling into lines for both the flex and the under eye product. I still like both of them, but I live in a very humid environment and they both constantly settle into lines. I think part of the problem though is that if you put on enough of the flex in order to get the proper coverage, it ends up looking really cakey and is definitely more likely to settle. I really hope that they come out with a fairer shade of the mat as well as a larger range in all of their products overall, so that person's with deeper skin tones can also benefit. Thanks again for another great video! ❤️
I mix the fair Flex with the classic one to get the perfect balance of sheer and matte together, plus the perfect shade for me. I feel they need more colors of Flex. I’m light golden and the Flex makes me look washed out a bit. It is a true fair cool tone on me. So the classic adds some warmth and they blend well. Then I use the glow as a face highlighter. One huge bonus of the Flex is you can literally see how well you are covering your face as it’s so white at first.
Wanted to thank you for this comment! The classic version has been my go to for the past couple of years as I found the flex too matte for my liking the times I tried it although the color was much better for my super pale ginger self, haha. I started to get super tired of the slightly too dark look from the classic and was trying to figure out a new sunscreen etc. Long story short it’s been a disastrous last couple of months as I remembered all the trial and error I went through before finding the classic version. My skin is just a huge PIA, super sensitive etc etc Anyway just thanks for this tip. Somehow I never thought of just mixing the two. Lol. For me it’s been perfect. ❤
I love the total eye renewal. To avoid creases I use a beauty blender and lightly powder it to set it with IT cosmetics Bye Bye pores and it stays put.
I have the Colorscience Sunforgettable Gace Shield! Ever since you recommended it. And I am putting it on as I watch! Just love this stuff so much! It has lasted me since March 3x a day and only half finished so far!
Thank you so much for the amazing review! I was on the fence about this product, and you made it a no brainer! I am going to buy it because I LOVE that you did more than just your “standard” review. You went above and beyond to explain why its good and explained all the science and what I was looking for as far as the claims. Thank you for being so thorough.
I just recently found your channel and completely blown away for all that I thought I knew and was wrong, totally binge watching your old videos. I didnt had such a-ah moment since I discovered the menstrual cup! 🤯🤯Really thankful for your work. Now I just want to trash all my beauty counter! 😅
I found out about menstrual cups a decade ago and they’re truly life changing! Have you heard of period panties? There’s a lot of brands out there. I tried those out this year since I work 10 hour shifts on average since the pandemic and didn’t always have the time to empty my cup(I have heavy flows). Period panties have been even more life changing! They do help prevent odor. At least the brand I use does. You should check them out! I use Thinx brand, and haven’t tried any other ones. I hear they’re all pretty great though!
Thanks for this video. I just bought the skin ceuticals physical fusion sun block and think it is amazing, but I think I want to try this one next. Can you do a video comparing color science and skin ceuticals sunscreen?
My personal review: I bought the flex in the shade medium. I’m a Fitzpatrick type 3 (same as Dr Dray) and one of the women in the pictures looked similar to my skin but it ended up being too dark so I’ll have to get the fair shade next time and mix them (Colorescience says you can mix their products safely FYI). You can see this issue on Dr Dray as well because her neck looks lighter than her face when it’s on. Regardless, this is my holy grail tinted sunscreen and I just apply coverage to my neck too so I get a matching color plus protection. It barely transfers on my mask which means it stays in place very well and it doesn’t feel greasy or cakey! Plus it feels lightweight, yet I have makeup-level coverage. It makes my skin look very natural yet radiant too. Lastly, it doesn’t dry my skin out like other mineral sunscreens tend to do which is amazing!!! I just love it so much Pro tip: I tend to get creasing under my eyes with almost anything I put on my face. I recommend using a finishing powder on any area where you may get creasing
Exactly! I have light medium skin tone and medium looks extremely dark and orangey on my skin. I reached out to them and they’re sending me the fair one. Also I think it’s too shiny but I wanna see how the fair one looks on me. I can’t believe Dr. Dray likes using the medium one since she’s even whiter than me.
The Flex Shield does pill and cake if you have dry skin even if moisturized. It does not stay put. I touched it about 40 mins. later and it just flaked off.
So happy you reviewed this product. I was looking for such reviews before buying mine but took a leap of faith & ordered the medium. Very happy I did & your right… it’s buildable. I’ve been struggling with dark circles & have now completely stopped using concealer (which I never really liked anyways) and simply add an extra dab or 2 of Colorescience. I plan to purchase the powder next to help with some of the dewiness on days I’m looking for a matte finish. Thanks again!
Good products, I use the 3in1 eye sunscreen, and love it. Have purchased the powder, as I do have oily skin, but find the brush application very impractical. It clogs easily and doesn't dispense the product properly. Also, I do find their tints are quite orange, so if you have a yellow undertone, it can look unflattering.
Love this video! The flex application was mesmerizing. I love layering the glow over the even up one because I do love dewy! I am excited to try the bronze one and the flex. They do have great products! I’ve honestly never found anything to camouflage red and brown spots as well as their powder color correcting pallet!
I had a chance to try out Matte and Flex early and didn’t like the way it matched my skin tone. The original sunforgettable gets the undertone just right and I use the untinted powder to tamp down any shininess. Works well!
OMG, SO EXCITED FOR THIS. I just started using the FLEX one this week and I absolutely love it. I got the "Fair" tint and was so surprised by how seamlessly it matched my own skin tone. The texture/finish is also nearly flawless, like my own skin but better. Thank you for this! 💙
@@stephanieabutler My skin tends to be on the dry side, but even so, the original Face Shield formula is also a bit too shiny for my taste. The Flex formula on my skin just looks like my usual moisturized skin (not shiny), and it did set up a lot more quickly than the original formula. Hope that helps!
I have dark skin and I started using their products this year. Love all of them, just have to find somewhere nice to go... Thank you for the information, very informative as usual. 🙏😍😍😍😍😍
I wish they would release the matte version with the original sunscreen shade (the light peachy one). I have light skin and tried the matte and it made me look orange. Still using the original version but yes it leaves your skin looking more dewy. Perfect sunscreen would be releasing an exact replica of the original shade with a matte finish.
@@devonbear4979 I have not. I will try it! Thank you for the suggestion. I also like the SolarMdScience SPF 50 Mineral Creme. It’s really good but it’s so difficult to remove so for daily usage maybe not as good. But for doing activities outside is amazing. I also love the matte finish it leaves. I would use it everyday if it was easier to remove.
@@charlieb2b oo thanks iv not tried that solarscience one yet, I will give that a go. I love matte ones for summer. Sadly the new Colorescience ones still seem quite shiny.
@@devonbear4979 yup, they are quite shiny. It’s annoying because I love the original one, I just wish they had a matte version. Anyways I will check paulas choice as well. 😊
While I appreciate that they're expanding the shade choices, that "deep" shade isn't very deep at all. It's a dark tan. If someone has a truly deep skin tone, I can't imagine this working for them. It's going to make their face appear very orange I would imagine. Disappointing.
Actually @Jenny S thank you for mentioning that! As someone with a very deep skin tone it doesn’t work for me and whilst I ask all these companies when they’ll develop something they say it’s in progress but I never see anything helpful in the tinted sunscreen market. People with dark sensitive skin ideally need mineral sunscreen which (no matter which I use) will make me look grey, like I haven’t moisturised. I could put make up on top but I don’t like make up and have fungal acne prone skin that makes this not viable for me. Colorescience sunscreens are mostly fungal acne safe and whilst I use the deep powder if they had a deeper tone I’d look so much better and no so sick and grey. Thank you for voicing this. I subscribe to their plan on the website to auto ship. I never run out and I have gotten it down to a science. It takes me about 1 1/2 to go through a bottle. I use it everyday… so I have selected 6 weeks. So I get a delivery every time my bottle is getting low. Definitely the best “adulting” idea I have had in a long time 😎
Dr i.have a question...what made u choose medium? On the swatches the fair was SO CLOSE to being your natural skin tone that we almost had to look again to even see it or to notice there even was a top swatch.....i know u already know that but I kinda figured u had a genius reasoning as to why u chose medium......because u always do have that extra bit of info/tips for us
As much as I tried to like them...I was disappointed. The medium shade of the Flex shield darkened on me throughout the day & the Matte was too dark & orange, and both were 🎵shiny, shiny, shiny & transferable. Nothing like the Paula’s Choice matte tinted SPF 💖
Love this, Tan fits me perfectly! Pricy but I like the confirmed UVA protection and it replaces my foundation/concealer (I was surprised by the coverage), so it really is a 2 in 1.
Hope it works better than the last colorscience face shield. Last stuff looked weirdly shiny, but also sweat off immediately and allowed me to burn. First time I figured I was mountain biking two hours without reapplying. Second time I reapplied twice and still burned.
Dr Dray, during this launch people have been talking about zinc oxide when not coated could be causing free radical damage to the skin after sun exposure and its been a little concerning. Would you be interested in covering the topic in a video? Maybe also about nano and non-nano zinc oxide and the differences consumers should know about
I’m usually between fair and medium so I ordered both. Dermstore had a sale so I ended up with 25% off plus a FREE full size Matte sunscreen valued at 42$. A great deal for high quality products. I’m frugal and I will save on other less important things, but I don’t skimp on my health. Also I need products that look good cosmetically since I have a lot of sun damage and hyperpigmentation.
Thanks for the video and especially the swatches ! You’re so kind to think of viewers of all skin tones. My HG is Australian Gold tinted spf 50 for my mature dark/ tan combo oily skin. Any formula with even a slight glow feels like grease on my face.
Australian Gold tinted makes me break out at age 57 years old. Only product I’ve used in over 2 decades that caused me breakouts consistiently. Wondering what ingredient causes this….?
@@marileen._. , AG has a matte finish, but eventually my oil does push through. I do not find it greasy upon application. I guess it all depends on how much oil your skin produces and if you're ok with layering mattifying primer or powder in addition. I have mature skin and avoid extra layers of matte products because it all ends up caking up on me and my texture. I just blot when i need to
I don't think the FDA has called for any recalls at this point. The lab recommended it to the FDA but I think if it had happened, it would be all over the news. :)
I don’t think anything has come of it yet. I asked Colorsience and they told me it was “probably” concerning the “quality of the zinc.” Implying their products wouldn’t have a problem… even though Benzene was in both Zinc and non-Zonc containing products. 🤷🏻♀️
Love ColorScience ! I have the original and the Glow ! underage and powder as well. I order these products every three months. I will add the new formulas in the medium shade and the matte. ❤️. great review I'm sold !
I use the Oil of Olay 30 spf. What I do is put on a layer of sunscreen on my face, let it sink in and then go back with a mix of foundation and the Olay 30.
I have been using the Matte screen for three weeks now and it is the best thing I have ever put on my face. Edited to add: I am Fitzpatrick type 3-4, and have oily, sensitive, acne prone skin.
I like the eye SPF and the original. The Flex is ok but definitely gives more of a makeup coverage and does settle in wrinkles. I just tried the Matte but I hate it!! The color was way too crazy yellow for my skin. I was glowing within 30 minutes so I would not say it is matte. I had it for longer than 30 days before I opened it so I could not return it. I gave it away to someone of African heritage and it blended into their skin tones perfectly. I prefer the Original Sunforgettable in this brand and the eye SPF.
Ahh, my dermatologist just suggested to use Elta MD this summer, but now I wonder about this product if there are significant differences between the two of them :-)
I have super dry skin and i love layering the flex over my moisturizer. It gives out the perfect dewiness (i’m using the malezia urea moisturizer, it’s more of a gel type) that lasts the whole day
Love all your videos. I'm an obsessive watcher and watch many over and over again. I also have very fair skin with rosacea (vascular) and the inflammation from the rosacea gives me hyperpigmentation. I've followed all your tips for hyperpigmentation but wondered if you could do a video on inflammation and PIH and what can be done.
I feel the flex is more likely to clump (and sit on my pores) than the classic one. And it somehow slowly migrates into my eyes and that burns a bit...
I would rather use a tinted moisturizer with SPF. My holy grail is Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Moisturizing Tint with SPF 30. Blends beautifully into the skin.
@@barbieblue3336 For me, it is. I really love this product. I use other sunscreen on my body. When I go out, I always have on sunnies and sometimes a hat for sun protection, so I'm good. 🙂
The original formula has been a ride or die for me so when the matte came out I assumed it was the same color but was so disappointed by how much darker it is. The flex in fair is great but I love the matte formula so much. I might try the powder you suggested to help with the dewy level. There’s nothing worse then feeling the heaviness on your face when I’m sweaty and oily in the summer!
Hi Dr. Dray! I've used the Colorscience powder, and I really liked it. It was a deal at Costco last year, in a two pack, for a really good deal. I've not tried the others, as the price point seems high, but you make really good points.
Question for Dr. Drey _ Wondering if the Total 3-in-1 eye cream has more benefits than if you use Flex around your eyes? The Flex is great if you get a color match. I was considering buying the Matte to see how that color was so am so glad that you reviewed here.

I'm not being anyone's white warrior. I'm speaking up about an issue I happen to notice. That's it. Nothing wrong with wanting inclusivity for everyone 🤷🏼

@@jennys1529 thank you for enlightening ignorance.😊
The Colorscience Flex Fair is very cool toned. Very odd some people are calling it orange. It must oxide and turn orange on certain fair skins.
Thank you for the review, can you do more reviews on colorescience, maybe the makeup line.
I subscribe to their plan on the website to auto ship. I never run out and I have gotten it down to a science. It takes me about 1 1/2 to go through a bottle. I use it everyday… so I have selected 6 weeks. So I get a delivery every time my bottle is getting low.
Definitely the best “adulting” idea I have had in a long time 😎
Thank to you, it is now my favourite tinted spf💜
Love their products. Own a lot of their products and mix them as I need to.
Dr i.have a question...what made u choose medium? On the swatches the fair was SO CLOSE to being your natural skin tone that we almost had to look again to even see it or to notice there even was a top swatch.....i know u already know that but I kinda figured u had a genius reasoning as to why u chose medium......because u always do have that extra bit of info/tips for us
I think she once said the more pigment the more protection you have... Take it like a grain of salt I really don't know.
Jackie O I’m med tone and med flex made me orange too.
Same. Medium made me look super orange. The matte formula is even more orange.
I agree. I think the medium was too dark for her. I think the lighter shade would’ve looked much nicer. 🤷🏼♀️
I wish I would’ve gotten the FAIR as well. I’m mixing mine with the ORIG. , which helps tone it down a little.
OMG I was just adding this exact sunscreen to my cart when your video notification popped up in my screen!
Color Science is amazing!! You will love it! I’ve dealt with melasma for a long time and this stuff (Colorscience) was a game changer for me!
i love it
Love this, Tan fits me perfectly!
Thanks Dr Dray! Gotta give Colorscience kudos just for offering 4 tints! Will definitely try out the matte tan!
Did you try out the colorscience matte formula? If so, did you like it?
I appreciate Dr Dray not playing any annoying music.👍 Thank you for sharing your knowledge.🙂
Dr Dray, during this launch people have been talking about zinc oxide when not coated could be causing free radical damage to the skin after sun exposure and its been a little concerning. Would you be interested in covering the topic in a video? Maybe also about nano and non-nano zinc oxide and the differences consumers should know about
Wear an antioxidant like vitamin c, niacinamide or coQ10 under your sunscreen to reduce oxidation:)
Which one would be the coated zinc? Nano or non nano zinc.
Love this tinted sunscreen ❤️holds up in hot humid weather too. I had no color change! Looked so nice on my skin!
How is the matte sunscreen? Does it look greasy? & does it actually stay matte
I have the Flex, love it. 45 y.o Flex doesn’t settle into lines but 3:1 eye does.
Will this sunscreen be okay for sensitive rosacea skin? Love the informative videos you make, really appreciate it!
Thanks for the video and especially the swatches ! You’re so kind to think of viewers of all skin tones.
My HG is Australian Gold tinted spf 50 for my mature dark/ tan combo oily skin. Any formula with even a slight glow feels like grease on my face.
Australian Gold tinted is the best I've ever used. Great product
Australian Gold tinted makes me break out at age 57 years old. Only product I’ve used in over 2 decades that caused me breakouts consistiently. Wondering what ingredient causes this….?
Does Australian Gold actually keep your skin matte?
I feel the same way about sunscreen. I hate that it feels like I'm adding grease to my face.
I just blot when i need to
Have the sunscreens that tested positive for benzene been taken off shelves yet? Did they figure out how the contamination happened?
I don't think the FDA has called for any recalls at this point. The lab recommended it to the FDA but I think if it had happened, it would be all over the news. :)
I'm wondering the same thing: why is FDA so slow in taking action?
I don’t think anything has come of it yet. I asked Colorsience and they told me it was “probably” concerning the “quality of the zinc.” Implying their products wouldn’t have a problem… even though Benzene was in both Zinc and non-Zonc containing products. 🤷🏻♀️
I am using Fair. It is beautiful. I am from Romania. Thank you!
Love ColorScience ! I have the original and the Glow ! underage and powder as well. I order these products every three months. I will add the new formulas in the medium shade and the matte. ❤️. great review I'm sold !
Happy Friday Dr Dray!
Morning!
I use the Oil of Olay 30 spf. What I do is put on a layer of sunscreen on my face, let it sink in and then go back with a mix of foundation and the Olay 30.
Thank you beautiful !! I'm excited to try this I just heard about it and I'm so happy you have reviewed this ❤️
I was waiting for you to review this in detail now definitely gonna buy both 😊
I have been using the Matte screen for three weeks now and it is the best thing I have ever put on my face.
Edited to add: I am Fitzpatrick type 3-4, and have oily, sensitive, acne prone skin.
Thanks it’s really help 😍
@@SH-co8de you’re welcome! I hope it works for you, too! I have already ordered another one so I don’t run out. 😂
Does it actually keep you matte?
Can you reapply the sunscreen a few hours later without looking cakey?
I really like tinted sunscreens but they are expensive to apply every 2 hrs. Olive skin problems
Please try paulas choice…. It’s the best. Flex sucks. I rarely disagree with dr. But do it
@@natalierendon5746 Why sucks?
I like the eye SPF and the original. The Flex is ok but definitely gives more of a makeup coverage and does settle in wrinkles. I just tried the Matte but I hate it!! The color was way too crazy yellow for my skin. I was glowing within 30 minutes so I would not say it is matte. I had it for longer than 30 days before I opened it so I could not return it. I gave it away to someone of African heritage and it blended into their skin tones perfectly. I prefer the Original Sunforgettable in this brand and the eye SPF.
Ahh, my dermatologist just suggested to use Elta MD this summer, but now I wonder about this product if there are significant differences between the two of them :-)
I will definitely going to try out some of their sunscreens.
I love the medium and tan shades for my skin :) finally found my favorite tinted mineral spf
Wow! All sold out.
Thanks Dr. Dray❤️
I loveeeeee colorescience ❤️ will be ordering these soon ❤️
I have super dry skin and i love layering the flex over my moisturizer. It gives out the perfect dewiness (i’m using the malezia urea moisturizer, it’s more of a gel type) that lasts the whole day
Love all your videos. I'm an obsessive watcher and watch many over and over again. I also have very fair skin with rosacea (vascular) and the inflammation from the rosacea gives me hyperpigmentation. I've followed all your tips for hyperpigmentation but wondered if you could do a video on inflammation and PIH and what can be done.
That would be great.
Suggestion- You can also watch Dr Vanita Rattan who focuses on hyperpigmentation. Both docs are great!
I feel the flex is more likely to clump (and sit on my pores) than the classic one. And it somehow slowly migrates into my eyes and that burns a bit...
I got the flex in medium and love it! It's the best zinc oxide based sunscreen I've ever used
Does it feel “siliconey” or like a lotion?
I would rather use a tinted moisturizer with SPF. My holy grail is Chanel Les Beiges Healthy Glow Moisturizing Tint with SPF 30. Blends beautifully into the skin.
@@barbieblue3336 For me, it is. I really love this product. I use other sunscreen on my body. When I go out, I always have on sunnies and sometimes a hat for sun protection, so I'm good. 🙂
Flex medium looks cakey on my skin
Omg.i love love love colorscience products
I like the original but I have mixed feelings as it tends to pill when I go to reapply but the first application is nice
How is the matte formula? Does it actually keep you from looking oily?
I like the Coverup with two drops of the bronze, really nice for the summer and no foundation!
The Even Up!! That’s what I meant lol.
Hi Dr. Dray! I've used the Colorscience powder, and I really liked it. It was a deal at Costco last year, in a two pack, for a really good deal. I've not tried the others, as the price point seems high, but you make really good points.
Very useful review. Thanks a lot
I want to try the tan colored one. The Flex.
Hello 👋 can you do a video on all the colorscience products you use ?
You’re the best !
Happy Friday!🤗
Happy Friday To You Too!! Have a Great Weekend!!
I feel like fair would fit you way better, other than that it looks amazing and I’m going to give it a try along with the original.
I really love tinted cleanance avene sunscreen
I’m going to try these because my favorite drmtlgy one that I found through you has been sold out for some time on amazon.
Question for Dr. Drey _ Wondering if the Total 3-in-1 eye cream has more benefits than if you use Flex around your eyes?
The Flex is great if you get a color match. I was considering buying the Matte to see how that color was so am so glad that you reviewed here.
Your Colour is Fair
As on the swatches on your Arm , the shade Fair was Invisible on you .❤️
excited for this b/c i love their sun screen. I love their total eye 3 in 1 sunscreen. I'm almost out of my Drmtlgy tinted moisturizer /sunscreen spf 46, so it'll be good to know which one to try next. I love that they have fair skin tone!!! My current one is too dark. I'm looking forward to trying these sunscreens!!! Thanks for reviewing!
Thank you for colour swatching so helpful. Great in depth review. I’ll try one 🙌❤️
