- This new Baltany does so much right, but doesn't blow my mind. This review shares all you need to know about this awesome watch, that just misses a few opportunities for greatness.

Many thanks to Baltany for sending me this watch for review. Hugely appreciated!
Check out my insta #watchmecollection
I have this watch. I am an old puddle jumper pilot. The 60 min totalizer is traditionally 30 min, not 60. Legibility for one & the fact that that dial is used for waypoints in IFR flying & landmarks for VFR flying. Either flight type, the waypoint & or the landmark is almost never further than 30 minutes away from one to the next. The 12 hour totalizer is functioning for tracking total fuel burn. So, I jumped on this watch. It has NO MORON DAY/NIGHT/24 HOUR DIAL. Yay!!! Fine review. I love mine! E
Dan…..NOOOOOOOOOO, Ihate these watches made too large. I have a 16.5 mm wrist. What you suggest would be as big a deal breaker as the moronic 24 hour dial. Sorry Bud…..you missed on this review. Thanks though!
Thank U for your review.
I own this watch and am very happy with it!
It's pretty, easy to read, robust, accurate and inexpensive!
What more could you ask for!
I love the choice of movement in this one. I hate seeing a sub-dial wasted on a 24-hr hand when it could be used for either sub-second timing or periods longer than an hour.
Could not agree more. Stewwwwpid 24 hour dial….”produces symmetry” oh…pooooo. I need a tool, not crap decorative dials! Great comment!
I totally agree.
You’re definitely not the first to say this dial is a bit crowded. With that said Baltany seems to have the affordable military style watch segment cornered though. Thanks for the honest opinions.
Good review. I purchased this model because of the smaller size. I have a 7.25 in wrist. I certainly understand that the watch would be even more legible if the case and dial were larger. I personally would consider a purchase if it were over 42mm. Even then, the lug-to-lug would need to be no greater than 48mm. Even then, there would need to be a good amount of turndown on the lugs. The rest of your points were fairly solid. I really enjoy the Baltany Watch brand.
I'm wearing that very same watch right now and i lkie it and really don't care if others don't ! Baltany make great watches at a very good price point and i will purchase more in the near future . Cheers 👍
"And don't forget where you came from.:" (Once upon a time you had to pay for your watches and AliExpress didn't send you frequent watches to test.) This is a great watch. I appreciate your review. There are still many of us with smaller wrists that would look like idiots rocking 45+ mm cases and 50mm lug to lug. The huge fliegers were necessary for quick glancing at a wrist with the watch probably over a jacket and gloves. Nothing beats legibility, if that is your priority, like a Timex Ironman. I will still follow you, but please don't ask Baltany to push their prices up.
Thanks man! I am so grateful that companies and viewers value my opinions! It's a real privilege. Thanks for your comment. I wouldn't want them to push their price up for no reason of course, only to make a series of even more authentic larger watches to offer a variety of sizes for different people.
@@watchmewithwatches Agreed. A variety of sizes is welcome. SEIKO VK rules! 🙂
The Baltany Model S205033 ("Baltany Vintage Military Style Quartz Chronograph Watch") is the better of their chronographs. This one is a bit busy for my taste.
I would love this as a 42mm and without the chronography.
And the more bead blast look the better
I use chrono a lot. What is annoying , three sub dials are of the same size as well as subdials' hands. Thsnk you fot rhe video
Basically you just want a bigger watch. You can find big pilots everywhere. Baltany and San martin there is an obvious pattern, they just make smaller watches in general.
Good points well made. Was ready to jump on this one last year, however, as often happens, there is one critical design fail .. low vis hands as you point out. This is the priority to fix IMO, they should be white .. sub dial and sweep hands.
Last year? It's a model released just a couple months ago.
awesome looking watch, if they did it in a 42 i would buy it
I like it this size. Small wrists. Super legible and it’s cheap. I have a bit of an issue with the mix of styles. Classic B Uhr styling, all curves but the 9 O clock sub dial has that white cross in it, drawing attention. At this price point though I can live with it.
Totally agree! Hopefully Baltany are listening..
If they did it with blued hands....ooh matron
The 39mm blue sunburst Khaki Field homage is my favorite Baltany. I do love this watch. Double rivets would be good. Surprised you didn't mention the "bald head" crown. Would love to have seen an embossed oil-pressed signature crown. I'd also see an option for a 7-link steel bracelet, like used on a Breitling Navitimer. 41mm - 42mm size would also be better.
I think 42mm might be the sweet spot for the size. It's not too small and it is not too big and people with the smaller wrist can wear it.
Definitely, I want to see them do it!
I keep going to buy this and then back out at the last moment! Nice review
Its lovely really, I just want BIGGER
Military watch fatigue ? It's all about the British humour mate , great work as usual , lovely
Thanks man!
This watch jumps ahead of many inexpensive chronos just because of the movement. No useless 24 hour subdial on this one. It's more like my beloved Speedy in functionality.
I agree on the size - a pilots watch should be big and have high visibility hands.
Excellent points all around, and glad to see you pushing out content!
Fine review Dan. I could not disagree with you more about the sizing. I totally love the aesthetic of the watches from the 50’s & 60’s……smaller. Why all manufacturers seem to make for huge folk? I don’t know. And I will buy this very watch because it does not assume I’m such an idiot that I can not look out my window…24 hr. dials should be illegal imho. VK-67 is a REAL pilot’s tool. If you ever learn to fly you’ll know why extremely expensive, mechanical, tri-compax , chronographs have 12 hr totalizers. They are present in Sinn, IWC, Omega, Rolex………folks who know how to use this tool and why. Thanks………Yeah, I like your reviews enough to comment twice……😜😂😝🤣😆…………..😭😱😵💫………….😑
I don't think no one wants a dinner plate on their wrist. Very few of us are pilots and use it to fly. It wouldn't sell at all
I agree that 50mm would be too big, a nice 42 or 43mm would be great! Laco do a few, but they are over £800 for the really authentic looking ones.
Looks ok but for any watch to get into my rotation it has got to be very special as I’m strictly one in one out now.
I sort of agree with you on the size. I don’t know about 44mm, but I think it should be big enough that the numerals for the minute markers aren’t cut off. Maybe 42mm?
Yes, 42mm is a lovely size actually!
Disagree about the size; this is more of a Type XX homage than a flieger.
Absolutely agree about polished hands (and indices). There's no excuse for all-polished hands ever, on any kind of watch.
Notice that Seiko has polished hands on its less expensive dress watches, but as the price goes up the hands start to be frosted or brushed, sometimes in the center, sometimes on one side, with only half the hand polished.
Polished hands turn black from most angles, which makes them useless.
Hi there, only just subscribed as I was looking for details on a couple of watches and you popped up on both!, guess we must have similar tastes in watches,
I am loving your ideas on improvements to this Baltany, I think they would be awesome!, probably wont happen but who knows if they did what you explained Wow that would be something!
Won't go again how much i love (NOT!!!) analog chronos, but wanted to ask you if you still have that amazing cherry dial/ bronze bezel Baltany? Want to get it, but the cherry dial is nowhere to be found in Aliland... pity indeed.
Cheers Dan, be well mate.
Hi man, hope you are doing well.
This will be off topic.
I got a tiffany blue dial watch with ss strap.
The stock bracelet is not comfortable for me.
Which colour strap(leather or rubber) will go with it ?
love Baltany
Love my San Martin 37mm version of this
i wouldnt mind having one govna. my TIMEX Q is on the way
Looking at their website, I think the "Vintage RAF 6BB Homage Military Chronograph" is prettier, and has a cleaner and more readable dial.
I agree, that one looks lovely 😍
Baltany, why so many bead basted cases, they look like plastic, how about some fully brushed finished cases, more classy imo. How about the D12 36mm in a fully brushed case, please 🙏🙏🙏
Got something tasty coming soon....
I wish this chronograph had a shorter lug to lug! I'd be all over it
It's hard to get a shorter length chronograph for sure
Hmm, smells great 🎉🎉🎉
At last ... a reviewer asking for a larger sized watch!!!
DON'T buy a baltany watch. My baltany watch completely failed after wearing it 4 times. I contacted baltany requesting their address so I could ship it to them to be repaired / replaced, it has a 2 year warranty. They refused to accept the watch back and said to have it serviced locally, despite the movement completely failing. Unbelievable, they are NOT a legitimate company. Their ‘warranty’ is fake. RUN from this scam company.
Promo sm 🤣
I can’t agree more about the size.
A larger case would be great, I’d buy it in a heartbeat!
A chronograph in 39 mm is pretty much unusable…
Does anyone use a chrono for their intended purpose?
@@multipl3 sure
38mm is my favorite chrono size.
