I've got the A11 from Thorne. I paid $130 for it and it absolutely blew me away. By far one of my favorite watches in my big collection of mostly "expensive" watches. It was my first Chinese watch purchase and I couldn't be happier. Sapphire, feel, finishing, lume, its all an A+
Lovely watch all in all. Also great to see Baltany is a company which takes care putting the right movement in their watches. Here, no date dial coupled with a no date movement. I only wish that there would be a quartz alternative to the automatic (not instead, rather a plus one addition to the collection) to have a more troubleless handling. The Seiko VH31 would be just perfect for the task.
Awesome version...very very close to what Damien Lewis wore portraying Dick Winters in Band Of Brothers...thanks for the great review...bought me one today. I looked everywhere and almost bought a new Hamilton....which would have been great but this Baltany version is much closer to the one I mentioned.
Hello. Thanks for the review. I bought a dirty dozen recreation from them. I sent it back because I really find the polished case out of place. The hand also were polished and it really didn't play out for me. It is just my opinion.
The Keaoirus variant is about $30 less expensive and basically the same watch. Perhaps a bit tall but that's to be expected with an NH38 automatic and 100m wr. Chinese brands don't seem to prioritize thiness. The lowest cost Hamilton field watch definitely has a better movement but not water resistance. I enjoy this watch and don't worry about wearing it anywhere, especially in fields and dirt. To be honest, I think the closest comparison is to the Bulova hack, where it completely outperforms the Bulova.
Both this, and their newly released trench watch version are amazing watches, especially for the price. Well executed, with great specs. To be more correct to the A11 specifications, I wish they'd included drilled lugs on this watch, but I can accept their omission. As for the trench watch, I think one of my favorite points of that one is the crown.
Baltany is doing great things in terms of vintage military homages; it's above the ordinary copy game of most chinese brands, in my opinion. The specifications are always good. I would like to see more military watches from the II World War, maybe germans, and if they would dare to release truly vintage sizes like Praesidus recently did.
Did everyone face quality issues with this watch? I had to take mine to a watchmaker for cleaning, as there was a speck of paint pealed off from the dial wondering around under the crystal. The watchmaker also told me that I should rather not swim with this watch as the water resistant is questionable. Did anyone swim with it?
DON'T buy a baltany watch. My baltany watch completely failed after wearing it 4 times. I contacted baltany requesting their address so I could ship it to them to be repaired / replaced, it has a 2 year warranty. They refused to provide their shipping address and said to have it serviced locally, despite the movement completely failing. Unbelievable, they are NOT a legitimate company. I just ate $150, it went right down the drain !
i have looked at 50 field watches. this is the one im gonna buy. for 270.00 american dollers i can buy this watch and also a bonklip bracelet!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

$169.00 for a Seiko movement, a good looking "normal" watch, and a screw down crown. What's not to like? Pretty cool.
Can't deny its a very nice looking well executed piece .
I ordered this one the day after I saw this video! I just got it yesterday! It’s my first Baltany and I LOVE the vintage look. Love your content!

that's a ton of value and a nice classic design for 169 bucks
This is lovely. More interesting than the Khaki Field Mechanical.
Love Baltany's recent chronographs release as well. Gotta check them out.

would love to see a side-by-side pic of this with the Murph 38. perhaps you can post on your IG.

That's a cool watch at a great price point!

it looks simple and elegant, very nice👍
To be more size accurate, they should make it 32mm. Praesidus just came out with a 32mm version.
Wish it had an exhibition case back
I'm hoping someone like Baltany will make an exact homage to the Band of Brothers watch.
I have the yellow dial version, very nice little homage for the price
Good review! I would have liked to have seen the yellow dial as well. I am curious about its legibility. The dial and hands seem to blend.
Movement aside, do you think that this one is comparable with the Murph in terms of quality of execution?
I have owned a few Hamiltons. I now have a Dryden Heartlander, which is half the price, and in my opinion a better watch

If they made this any smaller, it’d be perfect.
Интересные часы,точнее необычный циферблат.

If they wanted historically accurate they would not have used a Japanese movement. Just saying.
Just stick with Hamilton IMO

hamilton is a stoopid choice. no screwdown crown!!!!!!!!!
Different price point, but obviously Hamilton has the history
