You are the winch master. Your abilities to winch things out that are stuck are awesome.
What you do with that jeep in the South Florida mud is incredible! Some people don’t know.
Respect!
I'm not a jeep fan, but that's a damn nice truck. I have learned a lot watching your videos, thanks.
It's not a Jeep anymore, everything has been replaced, that's what makes it a good truck, now.
Still has the 3.6 pentastar.. so still a Jeep.
@@chuckisbusydefinitely still a Jeep!
I'm a DOT Shop Foreman and I'm currenting trying to outfit our Western Star semi truck for recoveries. I've started with a Stallion (from Australia) 25,000 pound winch. Your videos have taught me ALOT!! Love the videos man!!
Stallion are made by Sherpa 4x4 here in Aus
@@HJZ75driver And it's been one bad ass winch so far!! I'm definitely glad I made that choice.
Now that was a great video!!!! You have a lot of stuff I had never heard of - like that Taser system. I had no idea anyone was making something to get around the onboard computer systems, and I figured any mods resulted in lots of annoying idiot lights coming on. Clearly, you put tons of research and thought into what you did - with excellent results. That is no stock or average Gladiator!
I want to congratulate you. You have definitely built a very capable tank that I have seen bigger and supposedly better rigs that can’t do what you do with yours. I realize that a lot has to do with the operator but yours is definitely at the top of the list.
I love everything you have done to your rescue jeep. Keep recovering. 😊❤😊
I tell my wife new toys are for the buisness too 😂😂
😂 that’s our excuse
@@OffRoadRecoveryLLC 🤣 us guys really are all alike. 🤣 cheers
Hey if she can buy shoes, you can buy accessories to your vehicle.
😂😂😂
Bro shhhhh
Very nice build of the Gladigator.
You could be a salesman for ONX! I didn’t know it had so many features. Glad you covered the battery as well , you’re running a lot of electronics. A jump box would be a good addition if you don’t already have one.
We have one along with cables too
@@OffRoadRecoveryLLC plan on doing anymore performances mods to the drive train ?
@@Danat-Monat we are doing a hydro assist and big bore steering box next
Great video! Just goes to prove what JEEP stands for Just Empty Every Pocket!!! I ordered my jeep in 79 and still have it. Will pass it to my son when I bite the bullet. Love watching your recovery techniques and if I ever get stuck in Florida I’ll give you a call. Thanks again!
Matt. I'm Chevy all day but when you're "little" Jeep pulled that dozer out it blew me away! You know rigging. Hope I run in to you. I'm on Amelia Island.
I live in New England where' the average person needs rescuing from snow. The local "mudder" off roaders may have a few extra requirements, but not to your extreme. A couple of years ago, I found Matt's Off Road Recovery that focuses on sand and rock crawling recoveries. He has custom built his recovery vehicles that are optimized for his terrain.
Florida's geology is so very different with the water table being barely below the surface. Your Jeep Gladiator is well modified to accomplish the recoveries you have posted. It's amazing how "small" rescue vehicles properly equipped can get very large vehicles back onto the road using the right techniques. I enjoy watching you resolve these problems.
Enjoyed the details, openness and honesty.
WOW, love the professionalism! It's nice to see some seriousness . Nice Jeep.
Thanks for the breakdown of your setup. I know Jeeps don't have a lot of space under the hood, but I would figure out a place to install a second battery. Along with a high output alternator. Great job on your fab work.
Ok you have answered my previous questions on the other videos so disregard them. Great build.
All of your videos are fantastic! Super practical info. I've been hoping you guys would do this one. I really enjoy hearing the rigging rationale and thought process when you pull up to a job. Great work on all of your videos.
Awesome video. Great overview of everything. I'm glad you included links because I had so many questions about the details of some of the features. Thanks.
Great video Matt ❤
Very nice setup! Thanks for sharing 👍
Great video! I have been amazed at what you been able to pull out. As far as Hanson’ off road, you’re absolutely right! That was my experience with them from the empty promises and name calling. I haven’t got my rear bumper and may be out of my money. All of you reading this and looking at Hanson’s off-road stay away.
Love the Jeep, Love the channel and Love what you are able to do with your rig!
Good stuff as always. How much does it weigh? Also tire weight?
Ever had a need for a portable winch?
Why not use a competition 24v winch and double up on the batteries? They seem like such a timesaver
Without a crane, how do you get a higher angle to pull on some stuck or damaged vehicles? Do you just rigg off a tree?
Do you ever use a section of cable if the winch line can’t avoid rubbing?
Do you have a special setup to air down the tires?
Thanks
Love the fab 4s grumper window cover. You are actually using it for what it is for, not a SEMA truck. I have been waiting for this video for a while, what an awesome and functional rig! It bats way above its weight class. Great job and I love the videos.
Thanks for the great walkthrough of your Gladiator. I have a one too and may copy some of the upgrades.
Awesome rig!!! Very well equipped
I love the windshield cowl.👍👍
If you had a V-8 in that beast it would be beyond cool!
You are my top utube selection.
Nice. Absolute Best of the best for deep isolated recovery in practically any weather conditions or any terrain type of the Flordia area. Your a badass. The jeep looks cool to.
This is a video I've been wanting to see. Your Gladiator is set up well.
That’s a hell of a set up love it
Well done, thanks for the details. I had no idea about that remote wheel lock unit - fancy shit there.
You are doing an awesome work, mate. Watching you with pleasure.
Sending regards from Romania, Europe.
That Jeep is impressive. Love it 💪🏻👍🇺🇸
Gosh, 5.38 gears!
That's quite a rig, my man. Well-built, lots of mods, incredibly off-road ready.
Awesome setup man!
Great build. My Sport S gladiator is envious 😂. The Tazer is by far the best thing I got as well.
Brilliant video, thank you.
Agree with the impressive setup assessment.
Very nice build. Clearly effective for its primary purpose.
I only have 3 critiques. First, the lights on the top of the windshield. In my 4 decades of off-road experience, unless you set your lights back on the roof, the glare of the lights off the hood is a significant impediment to seeing beyond the end of the hood.
Next is more anecdotal, but I'm not a huge fan of Mickey Thompson tars. Yeah, they look good, but based on consistent observation they just don't perform as well as other brands, Interco and Maxxis in particular. Crawlers like the bias-ply Treps while you'll see bouncers try the MTs like you have and then switch right back to the cut Swampers because they just work better.
Last critique, the Fabtech suspension. IMHO, my experience with Fabtech is that they are a deeply unserious off-road company that primarily makes parts for pavement princesses. I don't see anything obviously cheesy with your suspension setup but I'm a bit wary of anything that comes from Fabtech. Also, I'd almost lay down money on you getting a better ride out of a set of Foxes, Kings, Radflows, or even Billies over those Dirt Logics. Personally, I probably would have went with a Terra Flex kit. From what I've seen, they are a far more serious company when it comes to off-roading.
I don't hate the cowl/visor, but it does seem like it would reduce your visibility out of the windshield but the protection it offers might be worth it depending on the type of wheeling you do. I also don't hate the grille. To each their own I suppose.
I'd love to do what you do. I always enjoy the recoveries just a little more than the actual trail ride. You're living the dream. 😎
All looks tough awesome job
Thanks! You have changed my opinion of jeeps, especially the pick-up model you have. Love your channel. Where does your knowledge of winching come from? Did you work for a tow/wrecker company? Keep it up!
U got ur stuff together 💪💪i watch the guys out west do recoveries, seems they don’t use the winches and snatch blocks to their advantage like u. U work smarter not harder lol. Semper Fi💪💪
Just want to say keep doing what you do bud. I love your videos and I love the jeep. She's a beast
HAHA! I love that you bought the drill just to piss people off!! Thats awesome 🤣😂
Great program , thank you .
As a Jeep guy, the guard on the windshield is good in my opinion especially for protection of windshield from damage and electronics from sun. The grill one not my thing and might restrict air flow for cooling, but it's yours and your thing. Love your choice on front winch now that's the winch others are compared with. The company that was to supply the mounting plate must be the successor to the company that made my XJ rear bumper in 99.... full of excuses and only delivering when I got C.C. company and threat of lawyers involved.
Something to note is you and few other recovery channels are not into the "drama recovery" shtick.. Other could learn a lot by watching your recoveries and seeing that having the gear with you to do the job ready to go.
looks awesome. keep up the good work!!
Very impressive setup 👍🏻
All good! Thanks for sharing!!
Finally a video of your mods!! Thanks
Good video. I like your setup. The only thing missing is some form of forced induction
Awesome machine. I am a Matt viewer but I will definitely be checking this out. Thanks.. May have to go to Florida and get stuck. Good stuff.
Excellent build and video - thanks for sharing! Maybe I missed it but did you modify the stock axle tubes to support the 40" tires?
Great truck. Thanks for sharing the details. Is your transmission the 8-speed automatic?
Check out the mits alloy tops, i don't know if it would fit your build but they look tough and full of storage options
Looks amazing.
Great video! Thanks 👏👏👍
Lol, good job with this video. Thank you for your honesty. You have my approval👍(for what thats worth).
I was getting worried about your maintenance, especially all the heavy work on the jeep. Now I have seen exactly what I thought all along, 😊.
Cool jeep nice Add ons
That sure is a bad ass JEEP!
I love this rig and everything about it my dream rig🎉
Great video, thanks for sharing. If you were to choose a different vehicle for this job what would that be? Or is Jen the best option?
I made a deal with my wife: Every new job or project that I get, then I get a new tool. LOL
Those Mickey T’s are awesome
I love your channel keep putting out content
Hey Matt, first of all thank you for doing this! It's really neat to understand what's behind the performance of your rig. Also, I was wondering if you'd be okay if I wrote a Wikitubia page for your channel? It's like Wikipedia, but for RUclipsrs. It would only be based on what you say in videos or in the comments section, if you'd like an example I wrote one for Utah Matt's already.
We don’t have a problem with that
nice looking jeep
Keep making videos. I love ‘em…👍
I’m not a fan of the grill or the window contraption, but different strokes for different folks. I would never unfollow you over that. Those mods have nothing to do with why I follow you. I enjoy you and your content. But now that I know you did those mods for the reason you stated, I like them now 😂.
Dude, I love your channel. Love the mods you've made to the jeep. I had a bad opinion of jeeps because of Scotty Kilmers opinion of fiat made jeeps. You've proved him wrong. Keep up the great content!
I’m wondering if you’re still running the stock engine on your Gladiator and who you would recommend to build a great mini J hook bridle that not made with chain?
Excellent & well explained video Matt. I seriously love your Jeep and I'd want it as is (PLEASE) it looks purposeful and it needs to function as a rescue vehicle, which it really does, you'd have to be really stupid not to see that there is no wasted gizmos on the truck, you know the job inside out and backwards, you knew what you needed and fitted it all, the only question I have is about the engine, you really do nail it and I'm surprised it keeps on taking it, have you done anything too it?
Nothing is done to the motor except high output alternator
One idler pulley was replaced
And regular oil changes
@@OffRoadRecoveryLLC thanks, it sure sounds good when you nail it, which engine is it?
@@H4rleyBoy 3.6 gas
Good looking car!
i started watching your channel because of the window cover
Good video!
Like your channel great content . Have question for you do you recommend any one around Ky to install warm 1200 platinum system like you have on you rig looks great . Looking to install in a 2024 GMC 1500
Love that Jeep!!!
Lot more done to it than meets the eye, very capable rig..Supercharged Hemi or LS would be killer.
Super Rig !
Rig is awesome 👍
Thank you I was 1 of the many that asked 4 this
Can you tell us if you plan on doing anything to the vehicle's motor and what type of motor oil do you use?
Gen 3 has an interesting dual battery conversion kit. Would there be any benefit for winching and your other auxiliaries, by "upgrading" to a dual battery system?
Nice rig.
Not sure if its coming up but curious to the amp size oif the alternator you are running?.. Ever thought of trailering it to some offroad parks up in the Smokies or even out to Colorado and Utah? Loving the videos...Going to keep watching to get my winching knowledge better
400amp alternator I’ll have to look up the brand
It is aftermarket high output
I did forget that in the video I apologize
You dont have to apologize to us, just keep making the videos and teaxching us how to use the pulleys and shackles correctly.... that is a lot of amperage at a low volts, below 30. Big wire@@OffRoadRecoveryLLC
Great video. Thanks for all the descriptions of your mods. Question: So you have nothing done to the frame, engine or transmission? I've watched you pull semis and loaded dump trucks. Amazing.
Engine and transmission is stock
Mods to the frame are the plate welded to the back to hold the winch also acts as a stiffner sorta
And we had to cut off all 4 brackets that held the front suspension arms from factory to clear room for the long arm kit
Other then that none
Thanks for the details. Love your videos. Straight to the point, no fluff.
Finally!
We been waiting to mount the 8274 on the front before making the video
That’s what was taking so long
you going to do the double motor in the front winch? they are good
Gale Banks has a video about some diff covers w/ a design flaw for oil distribution. Sure, yours may be fine, but since the Jeep is worked hard. GL, enjoy the videos
Their video of the oil and diff covers is very informative
Excellent
I like it !!
Wow very impressive
I see you have prepare a beast of a jeep. Do you have anything else like cold air intake? Have you heard about Baxter Performance adapter that converts the filter into a spin on, I wonder what are your thoughts about it since you are very knowledgeable about jeeps.
The jeep is fantastic
What warning light bar are u running? Looks very bright
Lookin' good !!
Nice Ride
