    Good walk around. Without costs, the recommendations are a bit weak. "A bit pricey" varies by one's station in life.

      expensive af is more accurate. Roof rack is 5k steps 170 a pair, rotopax rack 500 plus 70 per lock and 40 per container, suspension 6-7k most likely, 270 degree awning a grand.

    I went with the rhino rack but with the Maximus-3 mounting (lowest profile of anything on market). The rhino rack backbone you have to drill through the side of the roof. With the maximus-3 you drill through the top and mount directly to the frame. I believe the static and dynamic weight are the most of any mounting system. Also the holes will be hidden very well if you ever want to remove the rack. That is all mounted on a 2021 JL 392. I have the Maximus-3 tire carrier on my 2016 JK and love it (it mounts to standard hinge placement) I am not sure of total weight allowance or about the JL tire carrier. Great company also. Michigan based, veteran owned and all US made.

    Did you or others here compare the LOD DESTROYER rooftop rack with the sliding off Roof top rack with the RTT say still on it? Had the multiple inserts as well with the RTT RACK. Also is a No drill system. I'm shopping for a no drill Roof rack. Did you say you had to drill into cowl? You ststed this ARS is stronger thn Gobi. Is it stronger than the LOD DESTROYER ROOFTOP RACK if anyone knows?
    Thanks for walkaround. I'm going to Metal Cloak as well. Loved see your bumpers etc as well as i am finalizing my choices for my Overland build. FYI GenRight has gret swing out tire carrier and replacement fender flares nd tught inner wheels wells all aluminum. If you havea great powdercoater, they can powdercoat the fsnder flares with matching color ns put. Finl clear coat on top not just black. I pln to do thtto get more articulation. You mentiomed you would have go to Dana60 if larger tires. Not so. Look up RCV PERFORMANCE drive shafts for D44. Keeps clearance and just as strong as Dana60 withouy the added weight. Replaces U joints the U Joints thus removing the stress and allow you the true full articulation your upgarded rig is capable of. Lite Brite has a great video about it. It was my Jeep Specialty mechanic and lifelong Jeeper that told me about it and then i did further research. I am absolutely changing out my axle shafts. Just FYI what
    I have.... 21 JLUR. Thx, Pam✌️

I'm planning on much of the same though I'm going to stay on 35's. So it was really great to hear your thoughts and feedback on the mods you made.

      Richard, You will probably get better gas mileage with the 35s for sure, so stick with those if you dont need bigger. Since doing all the suspension mods myself, I've had the jeep in for warranty work on a cooling hose coupler. The dealership didn't even flinch. In fact all the guys in the service department were complimenting us on the build out. It might depend on the dealership though.

    I’m on 33 now but like to keep it a Low COG for steep climbs , thinking of 35 with a 2.5 lift but keep the same rims. What are your thoughts on this and suggestions??.

    • @GoldensGoneWheelin
      @GoldensGoneWheelin  9 месяцев назад +1

      If I'm not mistaken the 392 comes with the factory 2" lift. I believe one of the owners at Metal Cloak is running 37 X 12.5 Patagonias on the factory suspension with no additional lift. Keeping the COG as low as possible is the right thing to do. That's why we have avoided a roof top tent so far. One thing that can help clearance for tires is an inner fender delete, or just after market tube fenders. I just havent done enough research on these items to feel comfortable with that kind of modification.

Then I used the brackets that came with the OVS awning bolted to the stand off mounts. @GoldensGoneWheelin  9 месяцев назад +1

      The 38s have worked out really well for us with the MC 3.5" Game Changer suspension. When we are fully loaded for overlanding we did initially notice some rubbing on the rear plastic inner fender when fully flexed out. If you look at the back where the plastic inner fender meets the stock bumper, there is a small bulge in the plastic. I heated that up with a heat gun and pushed the bulge in to reform it. That fixed the issue. You could also just go with an inner fender delete as well.

      @@GoldensGoneWheelin understand. Building my girl out, I needed those trusses and also went full metalcloak, but not the front steering. She's beautiful!

      Yes! I wish I had found that Freedom Winch Line before I installed my line on the winch. I'm definitely going to that in the future.
