The Pre Bond is what I am known for and I love them all. I have one now with the 1441 quartz movement. Its my daily. I also just purchased the new Seamaster 300m blue wave ceramic. Love it. And YES, you can replace that clasp. There are ways to add the adjustable clasps to pretty much all of the older Omega divers. A bit of a pain, but doable.
I have the Seamaster 300M Quartz, it was my first expensive watch and still use it today. After daily use for over 16 years it still looks fantastic and one of my fav watches ever.
I too just bought an automatic Pierce Brosnan “bond watch” circa 1999! I was fortunate to have gotten all original authentication card, booklets , leather box and cardboard box at a remarkable value. Mine too has not been Omega serviced and the twenty year fade is evident. The watch is in fantastic condition and I think I’m “ALMOST” as wound up about mine as you are about yours!! I love this watch and will be wearing it through the end of the year, then sent it off for its first full Omega service. This is my first luxury brand watch and I couldn’t be happier. Much luck to you with yours.
Just picked up a 2531.80 myself last month after being a long time fan from afar. Couldn’t be enjoying it more. Great score Jody. It’s a keeper for sure. Enjoy it!
Omega are a legend and long time associated to 007. The best combo its with nato strap for me my best omega are the speedmaster Moonwatch but the seamaster are awsome thanks
Considering getting a quartz version. Any reservations with that decision over an automatic movement on a luxury watch? Or should I do the automatic movement.
@@felixzabala4427 I would go for the automatic as circuits for the Quartz are getting difficult to get should you be unlucky enough to need one, but I must also say the Quartz are very reliable but you never know when a problem may occur.

Hey Jodi, just wanted to let you know the purchase is totally justified. This is a grail watch of mine and I garenty you with certain I will own one in my lifetime!
Just One More Watch hello, I have this exact Omega SeaMaster 300m as you’ve displayed. Purchased in 2003, i have the original box and all original paperwork in immaculate condition. Ill get to my question now - I’d like to sell it as the money will be much more useful at the moment to me. I’m located in Australia, can you tell my what it may be worth and if you can recommend a reputable buyer or site to sell via? Thanks for you time. Happy to provide photos - its immaculate though. Thank you for your time and look forward to hearing from you - hopefully. Andy
A stunning watch with that Bond connection. The Omega was my very first genuine luxury watch back in 2000 and then as part of a growing collection I enjoyed it for over 10 years before selling it due to buying a house. I regret it to this day, as mint conditioned 2531.80s are going for £2500- £3000 in late 2021. A recently bought Tudor Black Bay 58 navy blue has satisfied my lingering nostalgia for the Omega and for a cracking quality blue dial diver, with its superb, modern in house COSC movement, 70 hrs reserve and staggering lume, not to mention the sheer wearability.
Lovely watch, think you will pick the Essential Two Gent Silver Mesh as it seems you may have a penchant for blue. Love the channel and hello from sunny Mid Wales
I also have the pre Bond 1992. I was given it by a friend who had replaced it with the 300m Seamaster you have now. It just sat in his drawer for years and he said he would rather give it to me instead of it doing nothing.... years later I always wear it when I go to visit him (Spain) and he always comments on it saying 'maybe he had made the wrong decision and how he loved it'. I also love it, very accurate, lovely patina now and a sentimental piece for me.
I too have the Bond watch that I inherited from my late father. It is a great watch that keeps pretty good time. I do find the rotating bezel not that grippy, that's my only niggle. I find the watch to be rather thin for a 300m resistance compared to my other less expensive divers.
Yes the micro adjust clasp does fit. You need 2 clasp links to make it fit the bracelet. I managed to find a mint used one ( with links ) on WUS for US$100. A fantastic addition. My grail watch. Beautiful.
Omega pre-owned is always a great purchase, Jody. Congrats on the new watch. As for the MQT, ESSENTIAL TWO GENT | SILVER MESH is my pick, the blue sunburst dial is a beauty.
I have that seasmaster from year 1999. I had to get it serviced 3 times since then; each time getting serviced was due to it breaking (age, not trauma). Each time the restoration is made by Omega, the watch looks and acts like brand new. -a great design for looks, as it doesn’t stand out like a Rolex as a ‘look at me, I have an expensive watch’, which I like. I like the design much more than the new models. Omega tried to get me to change my bracelet the Spring of 2020, stating, ‘the pins were not meant to last this long, and you need a new bracelet, which are screws’. I said, ‘no thank you’. It looks fine, and the cost was bout 400-500$. As for the lumination... to get them replaced requires the dial replaced, which costs about 400-500$. I said ‘do not replace it’, for cost reasons... It was never very bright when I first bought it anyways... the lumination back then was radioactive lumination (very minimal, not dangerous levels). Now they use different technology. I do not like how easy the bracelet scratches; just touching a desk scratches it; not just light scratches, but deep scratches. And I also do not like how the watch breaks after about 5 years. But Omega has a standard price for repairs; however, if yo want it polished, they do not polish the bezel, so will require a replacement bezel if polished. New bezels, ‘about 400-500$....
Have the same watch but earlier. Also impulse buy. Saw it in Jewelry store window last week in a ski town in Vermont. Store owner was first to suggest a discounted price. The watch was perfect. Looked on chrono24 and Hodinkee. One was $100 less, and other $100 more. Both with no box or papers like this one. Did buyers 30 years ago keep track of such things, especially when boxes were very plain back in the 90’s. Couldn’t argue with jeweler. Love it.
Super video and congrats on your acquisition Jodie. But, just unbelievable! Only last week I walked into a similarly irresistible deal with the GMT 'Bond', and I am completely smitten. Such an alluring design. Enjoy! Best wishes from Renfrewshire!
I've had mine since the late 90's, for a long time it was my only watch. Wore it everywhere for everything. Mine looks like your spare parts (faded bezel) but my crystal is perfect. One of my favs, I'll never sell it! Enjoy yours! I bought mine because the Submariner was 2x the $$ at the time. Glad you got the auto, the quartz just don't hold up the same, imo.
I have the Casino Royale model. Don’t like the helium valve. One has to tighten it frequently or it will steam up in the shower. Mine has the floating piece, which sometimes stops the movement. One day, I will send it in for service, but the $400 cost is a bit much.
I've got the 37mm Quartz version. It's hard to take it off. The lume is dead, the hands have patina, and it makes me so happy. The perfect dress diver, IMO. The pre Bond is on my short list for a restoration project
Nice pick up! I get the impression that these Seamaster were very popular on release, because I see soooo many that owners have clearly been wearing every day for years.
Got a 2008 SMP for my 40th in 2010 and it was my first proper automatic watch after a few years of riding on the replica railroad/fake freeway. It's the bedrock of my collection. Took me another four years to tell 'er indoors that actually one of those fakes was real. I now always tell her what I'm buying and one day I may even tell her the real prices! Enjoy the next decade with it, as much as I've enjoyed mine.
The Mirror Gent on Black Croc is perhaps the most elegant and I hope it is the one in the box. The helium valve on the Seamaster may make it look more natural for right wrist wear. Your subscribers love giveaways. I anticipate great success for watch teachers who give back.
Fantastic. Congrats! I have a newer Aqua Terra, but I couldn't make myself sell my 2254.50 that it was designed to replace. Nice to know you kept your others, as well.
I snagged one of these in about 2007 when they were still going for decent prices on Ebay. It's a great watch. I must've saved for a year and agonized over whether I should go beyond the $400 watch threshold. I wouldn't pay thousands for one today, but I like that I can claim "I have a Swiss watch!" (even though sometimes I forget that I even have it because it's stashed away). I should get it out to wear now that I'm watching this.
Nice watch, looks like you got a really good deal so there's your justification. That Dymock's building with really ancient looking hallways is perfect for a ghost movie setting. Oh BTW Jody, can you do a video on independent watchmakers worth going to in Sydney? Thank you.
My first “luxury” was the titanium, chronograph version of this watch I purchased around 2001 or 2002 to work every day for 15 years love the watch. I believe the model is the 2298.80.00
Congratulations Jodie, I hope you get a lot of pleasure out of your ownership of this watch. It is a great watch and I have twice tried to purchase it but I just can’t get on with those skeleton hands. About 10:years ago I opted for the electric blue dialled Omega Seamaster 300 with the sword hands. Another great watch that has gone up 50% in value. This is irrelevant to me as this watch is definitely a keeper and still gets lots of wrist time. I have just had it serviced at Omega and it came back looking like new.
Great watch. I had the opportunity recently to see one in person through a friends collection and they are fantastic. My guess would have to be the Essential Four Gent | Black Smooth
Very nice Jody! I bought mine in April and the urge to buy all sorts of watches has diminished greatly, it's just such a nice watch to wear all the time and it can do just about anything.
I had a 200m pre-bond to tone gold. I loved that watch but sold it to make room for a Seamaster 300 black dial 2254.50. Still happy with that choice. Love the Bond. Those Pierce brosnan movies that first got me when I got into watches.
I recently bought the same watch about the same age. I have the original bezel on mine which is faded about the same as the dial face. The movement is great imo and the power reserve is good. Great watch...a true classic!
I've got the Seamaster 300 as well, it's one of my favorite pieces. I got a great deal on it from a place valled Watch Vault NYC. It's got a tiny nick on the bezel which can barely be seen on the wrist and my seconds hand still has the original red tip. Congratulations Jody! It's a keeper mate!
Great video as always Jody! You got me into watches/horology, and I've bought a number of Chinese specials thanks to you too. Hoping it's an ESSENTIAL TWO GENT | SILVER MESH you've got in that box!
I have the mid-size auto version of this and it is my daily watch, I love it so much. I bought it second-hand some years ago and the bezel insert has faded to a soft pale denim blue which looks nice with the grey blue guilloche dial. One question, the tip of my seconds hand is white, not red. Is it faded, or did they make some early ones with white pointers?
Beautiful watch . I have the gold and steel pre bond as well . Its was my dads still works well if a little tired that's never going anywhere anyway . But I have always liked the 300 too i really like the new ones but it's just a bit too pricey for me . Make a pot and put a bit away each month i suppose . Great vids love the content . Thanks for sharing this beautiful watch .
Congratulations on the new Omega! No need to justify that kind of purchase. And I think you went with the Essential Two Gent Silver mesh with blue dial, since you seems to like blue :)
Great looking watch. Love watching your channel. I too have to justify my watch collection(as modest as it is). My guess is essential four gent brown smooth.
You don’t need justification for buying that Seamaster, Jodi. Great purchase, though I am particularly jealous of your ‘90 Seamaster. For my guess, I think Essential Mirror Gent Black Smooth. Just a shot in the dark, really.
Perfectly justified purchase if you ask me. Got to admit I have seen one in the UK no box or papers and even considered chopping in my Planet Ocean for it (then I woke up!). Just an iconic perfect diver with style and history, very jealous Jody an excellent purchase. You won’t miss the odd Zelos or Spinnaker mate. 😍
Hey Jodie, I think you have the ESSENTIAL ONE GENT | BROWN SMOOTH in that box, at least I hope you do! It was great to see your new to you Seamaster 300, I have the Chrono version of that watch and has been my daily for twenty odd years! Seeing how well yours came up is inspiring me to get get mine done as it has quite quickly a few battle scars and is running a little fast these days! I hope it as good as yours.
Nice looking Omega, I grew up in that era of Bond movies so the cheese factor never hit me! As for the random watch, my guess is the Essential Four Gent, Black Croc 👍🏼
Just One More Watch Ihave been called crazy for claiming that Roger Moore was my favorite Bond before haha nothing beats the absurdity that was Moonraker
Congrats on the pickup. Very nice watch. Definately a keeper! I have owned 3 brand new 300 models in the passed 6 months and all have had QC defects. Gorgeous watches but I ended up getting my money back after a long battle with swatch.
This is THE hero watch for me. I love the 300’s SO much. I even bought the Seiko Knock off for my 21st birthday present, that I still have today. It’s relatively similar, including the 5 link bracelet. I was actually thinking of sending it to you to review prior to this video. Maybe I might to see how it looks right beside a proper 300.
I also own a knock off 300....I hate calling it that when it's a 150 UK pounds clone version black market. But it has never been spotted as a not real omega so happy days. Enjoy your one fella
Great choice! Can't go wrong with a Seamaster! Those are some nice watches Inthe essential collection! I reckon it's the Essential Mirror Gent with the Black Crocodile strap! It's got such an interesting dial!
Great catch❗️ My 2003 Bond Seamaster is my favorite but not getting rid of any of the other Omegas including a 1999 Speedmaster Moonwatch. I prefer owning five Omegas over one Rolex 😁
My first 'proper' watch. I bought it in 2004, 2nd hand but never worn. £800 quid. There are not enough words to describe the love I have for this watch. (Needs a service right now, so is in it's box at the mo'!)
A sea master is never a bad choice!!!
My guess - ‘ESSENTIAL TWO GENT | BLUE CROC’
Ah, I guessed that one aswell. Congrats on being the one selected!
No way...Jody, I like you even more now! 🤣
Congratulations....⌚🏴⌚🏴
Congratulation
Noooooo! Don't sacrifice the ORIS Jody. There's always room for just one more ORIS. 😋 Essential One Gent | Brown Croc

No chance.. 2254 was far better
Good for you, Jody, it's a beautiful watch and you thoroughly deserve it. I hope it stays in the collection and you enjoy many years wearing it.

You don’t need justification for buying that Seamaster, Jodi. Great purchase, though I am particularly jealous of your ‘90 Seamaster.
For my guess, I think Essential Mirror Gent Black Smooth. Just a shot in the dark, really.
I bought a 2541.80 last year and it’s stunning on a blue/gray NATO strap.
I love the Seamaster, Jody! Looks great on you. My guess is Essential Mirror Gent - Silver Mesh. I love mesh, too. You should put Seamaster on mesh.
Great piece.I have the mid size one (2551.80).I just love it as well.
Nice looking Omega, I grew up in that era of Bond movies so the cheese factor never hit me!
As for the random watch, my guess is the Essential Four Gent, Black Croc 👍🏼
Chris, I grew up with Roger Moore, so Brosnan was virtually playing it straight! 😂😂 Cheers!
Just One More Watch Ihave been called crazy for claiming that Roger Moore was my favorite Bond before haha nothing beats the absurdity that was Moonraker
Good choice going with Omega. May you enjoy the comfort and style for many years
The Omega is a beauty !!!
I'll go with ESSENTIAL THREE GENT | BLACK CROC. Cheers JOMW
Have the same watch, most comfortable bracelet on any watch .Bought mine in 2002. Still looks great some combat patina on it but keeps excellent time.
I wish the newer ones had that small Helium Valve 😅😅 but I love the new models so much aside from that!
Would be interested to know if this is still in your collection? Did the honeymoon period end? Or did it find a permanent place with you?
Great choice! Can't go wrong with a Seamaster! Those are some nice watches Inthe essential collection! I reckon it's the Essential Mirror Gent with the Black Crocodile strap! It's got such an interesting dial!
Beautiful Seamasters Jody! Congrats on the new one! My guess is ESSENTIAL THREE GENT | BLACK CROC
All are stunning, however the Essential Mirror Gent in Mesh is the standout, and is most likely in the box. Great review, btw.
Congratulations Jody!! Wear it in good health. My short list includes the GMT version of this watch.
Magnificent watch Jody, and SUPERB restoration too .. I am now on the hunt for the 2531.80 ....
I JUST bought one Jody, can you remind me who did the polish to your watch? Was it Zane (do you have his details), or was it The Horologist in Sydney?
Great catch❗️ My 2003 Bond Seamaster is my favorite but not getting rid of any of the other Omegas including a 1999 Speedmaster Moonwatch. I prefer owning five Omegas over one Rolex 😁
I think it is the “ESSENTIAL TWO GENT | BLUE CROC”
Great work on the channel, I am enjoying it!
I've had that very watch since 2003. Love it and it can be worn with just about anything. Good luck with it! (Essential One Gent | Black Croc)
My first 'proper' watch. I bought it in 2004, 2nd hand but never worn. £800 quid. There are not enough words to describe the love I have for this watch. (Needs a service right now, so is in it's box at the mo'!)
Bond : Does it do anything?
Agent Q : It tells time.
congrats mate for acquiring a seamaster.
