I own the 38.5mm Skyfall version. It's the most beautiful blue I've ever seen in a dial. I could just sit and look at it all day, especially in sunlight.

You both should join by the way. You are 100% correct this watch could be considered as DC’s actual bond watch not the SM300. David I’m going to post this video in the Omega FB groups to help you out.

I quickly have to disagree with the statement that Fleming would not have had Bond wear an Aqua Terra because it is not a tool watch. The Aqua Terra is the equivalent to the Rolex Explore, which is the quintessential tool watch that Fleming wore and wrote onto Bond’s wrist. If anything, the Aqua Terra would be his everyday watch and also in the field as a UC, unless he is on an operation and issued a specific watch.

Like young Hugo Drax :-P I too own this watch and it's so much fun to see the love for it. Not only in 3 Bonds but a frequent resident on DC's off-work wrist too. The blue dial is mesmerising. Great choice Harris!

Sweet... I'm coincidentally wearing mine right now while watching this at work. It's no doubt a beautiful watch with that beautiful blue dial. Not many people even know Bond wore this in Spectre because Omega only mentioned it a few times in various publications etc, as obviously Omega promoted the heck out of the Seamaster 300 limited edition won alongside this Aqua Terra. They didn't really promote it much. He'll wear it again in NTTD too as evident by the pics of Bond in Matera!
The Skyfall Aqua Terra is 38.5mm with the metallic frame around the date window while the Spectre Aqua Terra is 41.5mm with the Master Co-Axial and no metallic frame around the date window. Same blue dial though.
Harris gets it all spot on 👍

I definitely prefer the 38.5mm to the 41.5mm. It’s supposed to be an all around watch and that doesn’t work when a watch is oversized. Obviously, all a matter of perspective as the 41.5mm will look more proportional on a large guy.
For me, if it isn’t a sports watch with a rotating bezel, I prefer it to be under 40mm.
I don’t think the watch looked bad on the video. I’ve seen it irl a couple of times on smaller guys and all I could think of was how they should’ve gone with the smaller size. That said, be you. If you like the larger size, then that’s for you.

Been on my list for a while. Love my Seamaster Professional, wanted it since Goldeneye. But want the Skyfall Aqua Terra Master. I prefer the date at the 3 o'clock window as opposed to the new 6. Harris, is that a black version of the Specter bridge jacket? Or is it just the exposure? I have the first version from JV but it looks a bit more blue when worn with the N Peal Moc neck.

  • @saytalk32

Just to clarify: The Aqua Terra from Skyfall is the previous version at 38.5mm with the frame around the date window and brushed center links. The Aqua Terra from Spectre / No Time To Die is the 41.5mm without the frame around the date window but with polished center links. So the watch in your video was only in two movies; not three.
Also, while these watches are not well known among non-enthusiasts, they are well known among watch enthusiasts and collectors. The Skyfall trades at a premium over non-Bond Aqua Terras in the pre-owned market.

    • @imranbecks
      @imranbecks 3 года назад +1

Correct. But it is still the same blue dial as the Skyfall. So it can in a way represent that blue one in the movie as well. Its the Aqua Terra model as a whole that is Bond's unsung hero in all his movies since Skyfall with all the Seamaster divers and PO's always overshadowing it including the upcoming No Time To Die.

David, love your channel, one of the things getting me through lockdown.
These looks at Bond sartorial items and frugal Bond are without a doubt my favourite bits of your content, and your videos with Danielle helped me share my Bond nerdiness with my current gf.
Just a quick pointer - appreciate you and the Bond community are looking to promote each other, but it's not until around 8:36 you say "...so tell us about this watch". I may check out dressing like Bond, but my feedback would be to keep the future videos on items focused on the item (short intro), and direct people to another video with a link in the description and shoutout for "more info" on community people. Alternatively, a timestamp in the description would help with skipping to the right place in the video.
I am a fan, and no issues with guests, but did have to force myself to stay engaged 8mins just to begin hearing about the topic i came for. Might just be my laziness though :) No offense meant, just feedback as i really like your channel and would like to see it grow!

The Aqua Terra and the Planet Ocean have both appeared in 3 Craig Bond films but for me, as someone who owns both the skyfall Aqua Terra and the Planet Ocean 8900, where the Planet Ocean takes the lead is in Omega's marketing push for it and the fact that the it's the only 1 watch Craig has worn for a whole Bond movie from start to finish (Quantum Of Solace) but yes, the Aqua Terra is a phenomenal piece and the blue dial Aqua Terra was originallymade to match Craig's eyes. In any case, Harrison congrats on the aquasition.
Also, at the start of the 007 everything or nothing documentary, the actor they used to portray Bond getting himself ready wears the skyfall Aqua Terra.
As for the newer Aqua Terras with the horizontal lines, I'm not a fan.

Hey, I have an idea for your channel. Do one of Bond's meals. One of the really detailed ones from the books, (maybe is it License To kill that has the extremely detailed account of the lobster dinner? At the time, it was the longest account of a dinning experience except for Nero Wolfe) You could do it for real, or a dramatized version with actors. The important thing is to emphasize the details, as penned by Fleming.
