@@withwendy you are allowed to cry as much as you want before, during, and after the birth. Good luck momma and remember to relax as much as possible (loose jaw equals relaxed... ahem ;)). You'll be AMAZING! Welcome to the club
i can't believe we did it 😩it was looking a little rough for both of us in the middle but you really hard carried it at the end LOL 🙌🏼 thank you for doing this with me, i'm SO in love with the shirt ❤️
YES! The stitching adds that edge you only get with embroidery! And is very functional to protect from fraying. This could totally be used as a work around for appliques in other garments. Blanket stitching those edges probably took days, but creating those flowers with a machine probably took at least a few hours for an industrial level textile embroidery machine with multiple needles and threads... and that's completely overlooking the hours it took someone to program a design into the machines software to create each flower. Hand made appliques are even more time consuming and thus more expensive. (Source: Worked in a sportswear factory as an intern, embroidery was the most time consuming option and the most expensive; Even for simple one color lettering. There's just so much prep and aftercare for embroidery that you never see!) For a hand made replica it's beyond impressive! I might try it one day! ;P
I’m 26 weeks, currently spending half my days horizontal when I don’t have my toddler to chase! I’ve put all sewing aside for a while 😂 well done Wendy!
at first, i was like "oh, wendy and amanda have both done a video about taylor's flower dress...what a coincidence" and then I realised it was A COLLAB!!!!! OMG MY 2 FAVS TOGETHER AT LAST!!!!!
@@withwendy This is where etsy becomes useful as a research tool. From the look of your machine check out for "low shank quilting / darning foot". I would love on this bigger projects if you included how long each task took you. It look so laborious and would be really interesting to know the time you put in!

I adore the beautiful neck on this blouse and the big bright orange daisy on the back! This was SUCH an ambitious project and I thought it was gorgeous
I honestly don't know what would be harder. Cutting and then embroidering the flowers, like you did. Or cutting them into smaller sections, blanket stitching each flower. And then, cutting it. You are hitting couture level work into the dress. Well done. The shirt is Stun-Ing. Love that the baby was tapping a work beat. Hi Wendy, I'm here from Amanda's channel. What a stunning job you did on the shirt for Amanda, absolutely beautiful. You are very talented, thank you for sharing.
Three quarters sleeves was the right choice! As you said the top was a more couture level garment and those traditionally have three quarter sleeves. Beautiful collab! Best wishes for the new fam!
Wendy you inspire me everyday to create and learn new things . And you looked so beautiful in those flowers . We are so excited for your baby . Take care and have a safe pregnancy 💓
Wendy! I save your videos for bad mornings and watch them while I have a cup of coffee and it always makes my day feel a bit brighter. I so appreciate your creativity and warm presence & am wishing you all the best in motherhood!! ♥️
Commenting here before going over to look at Amanda's channel.....your top turned out BEAUTIFUL and looks so good on you. In my opinion edging all the flowers was the correct path to take....gives the whole project a nice definition it wouldn't have had otherwise. Well done!
Hi Wendy!! The collaboration turned out beautifully & amazing.. Blanket stitches may have been brutal but looks absolutely stunning for texture.. Your amazing how your still sewing & being this close to having your baby.. Top is totally awesome & you look stunning in it…. 💜💜💜🧵🧵🧵
I'm a simple person; I see Taylor Swift and I instantly click. 👑 That being said, what an awesome video. When you said you wanted to do the blanket stitch I almost fainted. What a journey! The painted flowers looks incredible.🌸
This is the most beautiful and crazy thing I've ever seen. Can't imagine making this, the patience you need for this, wow. So much respect for the whole team!
Love you Wendy, Have a safe delivery and joyous maternity leave. Thoughts and prayers are with you all, be blessed and we will see you when you are good and ready, not a minute sooner ❤️❤️❤️ Stay awesome
Wow, that turned out really, really pretty. I might have to do something like that with a jacket or something. Hmmmm. Nice way, to use up fabric scraps from really fancy/nonwashable fabrics as well.
Wendy, amazing as always. I use that table attachment ALL the time except when putting in sleeves or other tight spots. It helps reduce drag on fabric.
mouth open, I am in awe of the level of skill and dedication it takes to make this. Fantastic! I haven't even seen the final result but I can already tell this will be wonderful. You are amazing!
