  • You’re a singer. It’s who you are. But we’re here to tell you that you should absolutely learn how to play the piano as well. Why? Because if you can play even a little bit of piano, you’ll be able to:
    - Accompany yourself
    - Train your ear and find harmonies
    - Practice your vocal exercises without a backing track
    - Learn the songs you love!
And the good news is that it doesn’t take long to learn enough piano to start. This single lesson is all you need to begin.

    ABOUT LISA:
Lisa is arguably the happiest music teacher on the planet. We can’t prove it, but we’d be willing to bet on it. With a background in classical and contemporary vocal training and a love for popular music, Lisa Witt focuses on helping her students uncover their own, unique sound and develop their voice with simple routines and tips for faster results. Her personal singing journey started filled with intimidation and fear about “singing out loud”. Lisa’s desire to find confidence led her to discover HOW her voice works (physically) and gained newfound confidence and passion to perform in her discoveries that she now shares in her lessons. Lisa is a singer-songwriter who values singing as a therapeutic release for communicating harder emotions.

Singers should learn to play piano and piano players should learn to sing. And Lisa has the talent and skills to teach both. She is awesome.

I always wondered how people on Tabs managed to turn those chords into instrumentals for a song, thank you so much!

Great lesson. New to the channel. Any differences when I am playing guitar chords versus the piano. Can't play two octaves at the same time. Bob K

This is very helpful. It reminds me that Have You Ever Seen the Rain is one of the saddest songs ever written.

I really miss not being able to sing 🥲 (thyroid surgery damaged one vocal chord and totally destroyed the other one) but I'm learning the piano again.

Whats the name of the song you played on 00.09 - 00.14 seconds. Mind sharing the chord chart for the song🙈🙈

You teach some very good content which I think would be very helpful to a lot of people but your speaking voice is very strident and transmits a lot of tension which I don't think is necessary.
It would be marvelous if you would tone down and calm down, and this would make for a much nicer channel "interface* and could possibly translate into (many) more subscribers! ❤️

Hi Lisa, recently discovered your channel. I think you share some very great information. Thank you! You have musical talents. However, I think your speaking voice and style is very jarring. It does not have to be that way and in my personal opinion it takes something away from the channel. Is there any way that you could kindly reframe your communication style so as ro cut back on those unpleasant side effects? Thank you! ❤️

Hey Lisa! In Sept., 2022, I discovered this channel and Pianote! Could not play piano and my Singing was rusty….just about 5 months in, I am writing/singing/performing my own songs. I posted them here on youtube. My most recent song is called ‘Bliss’ Just want to say a BIG thank you to you and the other Teachers/Musicians on said channels. I thought you might want to see (ahem hear), what your video tutorials have turned me into in just a few months! -Charlene
