I m the only musician in the church and I play keys with the inbuilt drum machine and this lesson was really helpful even though I hav no band mates but realised tat it's all about God n not the music.. Thank you Don Moen and the band

"Auxiliary Keyboard Player " lol we used to call that piano 2. Piano 1 was lead and piano 2 was strings, pad and anything else.

Can one lead worship as an auxiliary keyboardist? Do you find it particularly difficult?
Whats the name of the auxiliary keyboard player. Just want to follow him. I like his style of playing...
He is adding Hammond organ in the chorus as well, although he didn't show it in this video. I also use it a lot, often layered with piano and pad and varying the volumes, Nord Stage lets to do it very easily. It's almost mandatory to use an expression pedal for the organ part though (even pads can benefit from it) - it's a vital part of the organ playing style. And remember not to keep the sustain pedal pressed for too long and multiple chord changes, otherwise it'll get muddy.

I am wondering what an Auxiliary Keyboard player would do during an up-beat song especially in this English worship culture? I am from middle-eastern culture and during praise song sometimes I would use "Brass". But I notice Don has virtually every instrument covered by a human, including Brass, sax etc. Thank you
Hi Andrew - if one person is on piano, there is plenty more that could be added, such as a pad sound that brightens in tone with a modulation wheel at the chorus, Hammond B3 organ, bells, or a pulsing synth.
I have my Auxiliary Keys player mix Hammond Organ and pad behind me since I lead from the keyboard as well and it sounds pretty awesome together.
I do play the lead piano....
What style in keyboard does Sir Kiko is using?
