My friend, these editing skills are so enterataining!!!! I have been watching your videos for quite some time now! I hope to see more videos like with giggles. I had fun watching this! I got so jealous looking at all of the scenery Japan has to offer rather in the states where I live. Don't know how to put it, but still wish I could just fly over and try stuff!
I have someone to thank for the editing being cranked up several notches! So glad you're enjoying it! The States certainly has its share of beautiful scenery 😊, as you know...I personally miss upstate NY, as I used to go a lot as a child. But yes, Japanese scenery is certainly amazing, especially given that there might be an ancient building in that photo you're taking.
I don't know why I enjoy watching these so much. I have no ramen shops next to me. What is within 1.5 hour drive is expensive (some is very delicious). I can make my own damn good ramen if I have the time. I feel I watch these just to suffer 😡 Also, why you tempting me with that Persona 5 soundtrack?
My favourite place for ramen in Kyoto is 'Musoshin' in the Gion area. The black sesame ramen there is amazing! Just full of intense flavours and quite peppery (which I like).
Been to 3 out of 4 of these. Loved all of them but likely favourite is seabura while other two probably tied as all of them are different style so on different days one would change its favourite. To add, menya inoichi has quite a variety so you can try various soup styles!
Kyoto Rmaen is heavy to maybe balance the courtly and sohpiscated vibe of the culture? Who knows 😄. I remember eating in Gokkei couple years back, which has a super heavy soup with fish flavors. Kyoto is a very interesting city for Ramen, pain in the ass to get around but very different (random?). Nice video as always Frank!
Could be - the ramen scene ending up heavy was a counter balance 😊. I might feature Gokkei in another video in the series! It's great you've been there! Gokkei is the polar opposite of delicate Kyoto cuisine, isn't it? Totally know what you mean about getting around - Gokkei and those Northern ramen shops in particular were a pain to get to. Thanks for watching!
I agree. I live in Tokyo, and while I love pork back fat ramen, there are quite a few places where they serve this style of Kyoto ramen here. On the other hand, a good Kyoto style shio ramen restaurant is more difficult to find. If I’m in Kyoto, I would like to try something that I could only find there.
Greetings Frank Sama. Might say Happy New Year 2024. But saw the news about an earthquake. Hope you are fine as all your love ones. Just leave us a short to know how you all are. Best Wishes on the new year.
Thanks for checking in! Im just fine, as are my loved ones, thankfully. Our thoughts go out to those affected by the earthquake. Happy Belated New Year and all the best for 2024!
Which bowl in Kyoto has your name on it?
people really sleep on the shio...Fuuka looks amazing!
I really love these longer episodes. You made me wanna vist Kyoto and not only Tokyo on my first trip haha.
Thanks for watching and happy to hear it! Kyoto will be waiting for you as well.
I'm living vicariously through your ramen adventures
Please do and thanks for watching!

Shiiiiiiii!!! I love that 2nd bowl, looks so beautiful and most importantly it's a shio ramen
That shio has got your name on it!
I'm here now because of your recommendation . Thanks. Damn man. Seabaru no Kami was absurdly good. And staff was really nice
The first tsubame sanjo ramen is what caught my eye, because it's been a long time since I had niboshi or seabura ramen 🤤 also I love thicker noodles.
This bowl would be heavenly for you. They would need to introduce a subscription service 😊
フランクさん、あけましておめでとうございます。今年も動画を楽しみにしています!
あけましておめでとうございます! 今年もよろしくお願いします!
All the best for 2024 🎉

Haven't been but have added it to the list - thanks for the heads up!
Very appealing bowls, Frank! I need more experience with good ramen to be able to differentiate.
It's a double egded sword tho...if you have only the good stuff the bad stuff really stands out 😅
never heard of fuuka, will have to add it to the list!
One of those "simple is best" shio bowls!
Always love your videos Frank
Thanks for watching, always!

You are a superstar! More Kyoto ramen to come 😊

Sorry Frank, I missed this when it first came out!
No worries at all and thanks for watching!
Amazingly and thanks. Please may I ask if you know any good gluten free ramen in Tokyo please 🙏
Check out Shimbu Sakiya in Shibuya or Soranoiro Nipoon in Tokyo station!
I’d go for the shio. Achieving that simplicity is complicated.

For sure! The purity of shio ramen.
Seabura no Kami was definitely my favorite..I prefer a heavier ramen.
Love that bowl and love the fact that you do too!
❤

Yes indeed!
How is he alive? (Also thanks for the recommendations, will try out these places when I'm in town in April).
I'm sure you're looking forward to your April trip. I wanna do video in the future that includes my health check up 😅.
