    The pattern/shapes of the bright blue sky behind your cherry blossom tree is very similar (on the video, anyway) of your shirt's pattern/design. Flowery shapes, I think. Great video.

    How come you say you use only 5 colors to create all colors but there is much more than 5 on your palette? Thank you for sharing, very beautiful!! ❤

    Inspiring as ever! Thank you Erin for sharing a bit of your magic strokes. Would love to be there in person, one day, to see the master at work in a workshop. But I'm miles away, on the other side of the Atlantic. Are there any live workshops we can subscribe to watch online? I'm a huuuuuuge fan.

      Erin is self taught. She highly recommends practicing. With each new painting or piece of art your skills and abilities will rapidly grow.

    I would dearly love to know the reasons behind choosing to paint the background between the branches and flowers of the subject rather than laying in the background first, then the subject over it. Is it a matter of the time required for the background to dry so the foreground colors don’t get muddied?

    Older videos indicate very limited palette, but here it looks like cobalt or kings blue, a purple, a turquoise and an earthy green. Are these mixed by Erin or are these bew faves?

    • @airybear02
      @airybear02  Год назад +2

      Hi Linda, I am still using the same 5 colors I've used for years, but I can create almost any color on the color wheel using my limited palette. :-)

      The main blues here are almost definitely phthalo turquoise and phthalo blue (I don't know what the smaller paint piles are at the top of the palette. I believe they're still mixes of the colors from her main 4/5 for convenience). Then permanent rose and cad yellow pale.

    I'd be interested in knowing why the pink color was used to cover the canvas at the beginning. It is obviously not the predominate color.

    Who can explain it? Why is the background color pink?

    • @arsplastiques
      @arsplastiques 7 месяцев назад

      The idea in painting is that you paint the white canvas an overall color that will unify the colors that are then painted on top. A background color allows the painter to leave space between colors that are applied on top, and those spaces will be the background color. This can save time and be used to bring both harmony and the dynamic of complementary colors, if she decides to use some sort of green colors. Ms. Hanson's canvases are, as you know, characterized by vibrant colors, and this pink serves her particular approach and style.
