Dave is literally on a different level to everyone else. His dialogue on the Black experience in the UK, and the way he tells it is unmatched. It's poetry and prose and his voice is so identifiable and clear that you don't feel like you're listening to a rapper, you feel like you're listening to a young Black man pouring his heart and soul out to you. His choice of music to back his vocals is outstanding. I don't love every song he does, but especially between his Brits performance of Black and this, he's standing out. Personally I think the only rapper close to his level when it comes to this is Stormzy with Rainfall, Crown, Superheroes etc. I'd love to see the two of them collab on a song about the Black experience like this and Black. I don’t think i’ve ever seen an artist as talented as Dave, lyrics incredible but also the way he picked up the acoustic and electric guitar (which he only started learning 4 months ago) and Piano as usual and made an incredible performance. Can’t wait to see him live this summer
Not having a go at Dave but if you’re judging your artists by their ability to write lyrics and play multiple instruments I think you need to expand your musical horizons somewhat… there are literally hundreds of them over the course or pop, rock, blues, etc. history who were/are multi-skilled like this (or better… at least as instrumentalists).
@@davidburke2132 He’s my favourite artist that’s obviously not what i’m judging it off because I love his music to listen too. @@oisinnoonan3349 fair point, and if he’d really never picked up a guitar before 4 months ago his development is impressive. However, a little objectivity would probably not go amiss amongst his legion of fans - that guitar solo wasn’t up to standard and those who say it was great, or even good, are being blinded by their love for the guy and his music. I applaud him for trying given his lack of experience, but he should have let his pro guitarist handle it. His bends in particular were consistently off pitch. Sorry, not trying to hate on the guy.
One of the best songs from one of the albums of the year by one of the artists of the year. Dave is different gravy. All people put their ALL into this
Let’s take a minute to appreciate Dave mans rapping is on point mans piano skills are on point and not only can he play the acoustic guitar but he can absolutely rock out with a electric guitar mans got real talent
Don't get me wrong, in his solo, his left hand technique seemed quite solid but it was obvious to hear some flaws here and there, similar to guitar hero when you'd miss some notes. If I were in his management team I'd offer him to get some guitarlessons to get it on a higher level. But I know that artists need to be free to decide for themselves. Overall a pretty good performance but that if we were to remove the flamethrowers, I wonder what would remain of the solo.
@@RiqueDropsBanter tbf he’s been learning for half a year, and performing for the first time live with the guitar. I’d give him the benefit of the doubt

My favourite UK artist ever. To all English folks, please cherish that man. Most don't even remember that this kid's still 23 years old! A true legend in my book, being from a dumb generation, yet managing to be so unique, woke and real. I appreciate every lesson I take from music, and every feeling it gives me, but gotta admit it gives an extra joy to see guys my age thinking and acting the way he does. Clearly visible that he's highly intelligent, and most of all, learned the most from his experiences. He is, to me, what most guys our generation should be like.
@@JL2670yo LOL lack of awareness? Am I really the one unaware? It's funny how being open-eyed or different nowadays is uncomprehensible mostly, not to mention the deeper you go the less most understand. It's tiring to keep saying shxt people don't (want to) see. It's easier to be selfish, egocentriccal and to live like most do, in bliss when it comes to deeper thoughts and problems, that itself is a proof of the lack of usage of intelligence. Social media removes IQ, not to mention the amount of entitlement it gives to people that barely do the effort of thinking, being used to follow and easily molded by what surrounds them. With all the progresses, the age we're at, the state of shxt, and our actions, where can I say we ain't a dumb generation? How many Daves do you see in music, and how many follow trends just to cash out? There's examples of lack of progress everywhere, specially socially/psychologically. Nah Dave is just a 1 of 1 individual. He's so talented and whatever he puts his mind to, he just becomes so good at it. Proud of this man. So inspirational and talented. Shows that you can come from nothing to something.
This is the most beautiful UK performance I’ve seen!
I’m saying it’s very impressive to even have the confidence to play an instrument live which you’ve only been playing for a few months, i’m saying this as someone who plays 3 instruments so i know what it’s like
@@oisinnoonan3349 fair point, and if he’d really never picked up a guitar before 4 months ago his development is impressive.
@@davidburke2132 it’s not that deep
Michael Jackson’s more talented than Dave lol love Dave tho
One of the best songs from one of the albums of the year by one of the artists of the year. Dave is different gravy. All people put their ALL into this
Let’s take a minute to appreciate Dave mans rapping is on point mans piano skills are on point and not only can he play the acoustic guitar but he can absolutely rock out with a electric guitar mans got real talent
Insane talent

Just thank me later
Don't get me wrong, in his solo, his left hand technique seemed quite solid but it was obvious to hear some flaws here and there, similar to guitar hero when you'd miss some notes. If I were in his management team I'd offer him to get some guitarlessons to get it on a higher level. But I know that artists need to be free to decide for themselves. Overall a pretty good performance but that if we were to remove the flamethrowers, I wonder what would remain of the solo.
oh yeah baby
@@RiqueDropsBanter tbf he’s been learning for half a year, and performing for the first time live with the guitar. I’d give him the benefit of the doubt
MAAAADDDDD talent is insane. playing guitar, piano, singing, rapping, producing he does it all. Lyrically great, wordplay the best. Looking forward to the 21.02!

There's a difference between being a rapper and being an artist. Dave is the latter, his versatility and musicality is unrivalled

This song's beautiful, words cannot communicate the amount of respect I have for these artists. Never stop.
He is, to me, what most guys our generation should be like.
with you bro 💯
"being from a dumb generation" screams ignorance, your lack of awareness is palpable
The more I think about it the more I could say honestly, I know it seems like I'm a negative guy, but that ain't really it, I just point out the negatives where I think most fail to see it.
@@JL2670yo we are from a dumb generation. I’m 15, I can confirm it I’m in secondary school
@@DarkForceUbz “how many daves do you see in music” that’s the whole point. Could say the same thing about any great artist from any generation, how many elvises, how many princes, how many Tupac’s ? You talk like a guy who thinks he’s a lot smarter than he is
Incredible , year on year the genre has come such a long way. From Dizzee to Stormzy and now Dave stealing the show at the brits (all in there own way)... we should be proud as a nation to have such talent on our doorstep 🇬🇧
