He has not done anything yet, can not even sing, just raps, rap is so limited in its appeal so no not great outside that appeal. Never going to be great unless he gets a bit of variance in his music and actually sings properly. Unless of course society changes dramatically and then he may be considered great by the time he its 50 or so.

Dave’s hit on a more intellectual/emotional level and had me oooing and mmhmming at the lines whereas Stormzy’s gassed me and had me dancing & screaming lyrics. Black people are multifaceted. We can evoke more than one response & the two performances exemplify that.

I watched it live and the stagecraft was legendary - a show to give all black and colored people joy and confidence to live and be their very best. I value all the positive things that Stormzy and Dave represent........ Keep it clean and keep God at the center of your focus. Nothing is impossible to them that believe.. I value these chaps for never selling out their own people but taking them along with them.......Black Lives and every other life matters.....

@@Simlife101 My comment covered the artistry and the commercial success of young black pioneers who everyone should be proud of for what they have achieved in a society and industry that has a disproportionate amount of bias against them, which they had to overcome, and they have done this by being unique. I can only applaud what I see amd know about. Concerning the vices (drugs, drink, sex, etc.) these are unfortunate plagues of all of our society today, that can influence all - black white rich or poor, famous and infamous. Its ok to criticise, these obvious aberrations, but Jesus did say that merely looking at a woman in an untoward way - I assume with lust and infer that the woman is not your wife, is already sin. So we all have lots to do ourselves to fix the one in our own lives. While the obvious wrongdoings are maybe obvious to some, due to their severity, and gravity/impact on society, how about simple things like hatred and dislike, and bias, for no valid reason, which ultimately destroys the hater and the hated a lot more than substance abuse, by being the precursors of deep seated insecurity. The only solutions for all these things, which I have found is to know God as taught and lived by Jesus Christ, this knowledge and life long relationship/obedience with Christ by faith, goes to the heart of all the insecurity to resolve and remove all the clutches that mankind clings on to and is derailed by to, to give you an assurance of love that no longer needs negative temporary safeguards like banned drugs.
On the subject of drugs, there are far to many artists who dabbled in this(if you add prescribed addictive painkillers), from Amy Winehouse, to Michael jackson, Prince, Miles Davis, Herbie Hancock, the Beatles including Sir Paul McCartney, JayZ,. Ed Sheeran, It is unfortunate in the music industry, the right question is who is NOT on drugs. Very sad.
While I am sure of the assertion for the artists named above, I have no evidence in public media that the performers at this years Brits were or make a habit of indulging in drugs. I am aware that they do love their alcohol, which is also sad, and an unfortunate hang up of the British social lifestyle - and a reflection of how sad Britons are that many of them feel the need to resort to alcoholic drinks to have a good time..or to address social interaction needs...
