I have a decent 6 piece collection including a GS diver with some fun stuff added but this Seiko SPB143 I wear the most by far, mostly with vintage leather straps
@@timepieceofart I never measured the power reserve but last weak I noticed it was still going after more than 2 days without putting it in the watch winder. I’m dyslectic as f*ck, I needed to remove my comments, thought you were burning the watch, but it’s the opposite haha
@@yerrie1908 lol all good, yeah I don't know ever since I got the SPB a few months ago it's been the only watch I've worn - I didn't expect to love it this much tbh, but yeah a GS is another league though would love to be able to afford one one day :D
@@Ex.zed. ok I was actually curious if my real voice over with not so perfect english would be better (ruclips.net/video/khb0vPsEe_o/видео.htmlsi=tQRNZy9uGqpU2_ub) than a perfect english ai voice over but by the few comments that Ive gotten so far it probably is.
@@timepieceofart Don’t worry about being perfect in your pronunciation. a real person is always better than AI …always! We choose to watch certain videos over others , because we feel there’s value in connecting with the person who created it.
I agree, that may be the biggest flaw of the overall design. It can compare with other watches in this price category, like the Longines Hydroconquest.
I just got into watch collecting. I've loved watches since I was young but I never had anyone teach me or bring deeper into the world. MaMaCoo brought closer to a community and hobby I always wanted to get into more and that is incredibly meaningful to me !
Seiko like many watch manufacturers are asking silly money for their watches, they are three times the price they should be. The new collectors are going to be very disappointed when they try and sell these watches.
Maybe some of the lower end, but the SPB I do think it's reasonably priced imo, plus I don't think Seiko watches are an investment like of some of the other higher end luxury watches, I don't think anyone is buying Seikos to resell them in the future, people buy them because they are just good value for money type watches - a decent watch great movements and unique look
1st Off never get a Seiko at SRP. When you are able to purchase them at discount, you will reap the benefits ......though this can lead to alot of impusle buying : ) Secondly, it really does boil down to your preferences and more importantly your budget. Personally, if you are going to go Seiko 5 the best that the line offers is the GMT or the re-interpretations of the 55th Aniversary which are fire. Lastly, SPB455 has just been released with a sleeker profile and superior 6R55 movement giving you 72 hours as opposed to 70 hours might as well wait for that to come out en mass. Just one correction the 6R35 is a 3Hz movement at 21K same as the the 4R36 but with no day complication. The upgrades are in the materials and build refinement that make the 6R35 a superior 7s26 evolution. U need to get to King Seiko territority with the "L" line of Calibers for 4Hz ($2K++) Chronometer level grade watches
why no SRP? You can usually find new K1 versions for $180-$200. Seems like a good value. I picked up a SBSA009 (SRPD51) JDM version for $200 on Amazon Japan. Do I need 200 meters? I don't dive. Push/Pull crowns are just easier to deal with when winding the watch. I have plenty of other watches rated at 200-300m with screw down crowns. Okay, the missing bezel pip is annoying.

@@timepieceofart I think new video is much better because it has more identity. However, my main issue with "comparisson" video was not AI generated voice, but AI generated script. I really thinkg the script was AI generated. If it's not the case, maybe AI voice made me to think so. However, if it is the case, the AI script is low quality, and it's quite clear that the AI is not into watches.
6R35 is also 21600 bph, not 28800 bph as you state in the video. The only real difference is the power reserve. 40 vs 70 hours.

I was shocked of the SPB quality when I got it, it's so comparable to the high end luxury watches it's insane
I also tested the movement, stopped 3 days later, 72 hours down to the minute with very little difference in time
@@timepieceofart Only the bracelet quality is bad as most Seiko’s , even my GS bracelet isn’t impressive

I’d say AI is going a great job!
Those end links on the SPB don't match the case at all! Terrible, especially at $1200. Why Seiko? Is this a feature of the "Heritage" design?

Do you have any watches now that you've dived deeper? What does your collection look like?
The end links on the SPB143 look goofy to me. Once you notice it's hard to unsee it.
In my opinion, perhaps the single design flaw on the whole watch
Are they fixed on the new SPB453?

True but the turtle is x2 more expensive though

SPB-143 is overpriced‼
Really? I thought for $1200 it's fairly comparable with even some luxury watches quality and movement wise
As a broke boy and actual enthusiast who wants watch’s prices to crater, MaMaCoo is a good choice.
