  • Join Matt as he recently hit Hunstanton beach for a day testing out the Panasonic S1 and a range of Canon EF Glass. Yes that’s right, Canon Glass, on Panasonic’s new full-frame mirrorless model, thanks to the Sigma MC-21 mount adaptor.

Please note that for those interested in using the adapter with either the TC-1401 or TC-2001 teleconverters, it is an unusable combination. The problem is that when the teleconverter is attached, the Panasonic camera thinks it is an aps-c lens and drops the resolution, disables 6K photo mode and high resolution mode etc. Sigma seems unwilling to correct it, just stating it is not a supported combination (really, this is pretty weak considering it is an official L-Mount adapter from Sigma, official Sigma Teleconverters, used with official Sigma lenses in the Sport, Art and Contemporary categories. If someone has connections either at Sigma to correct their flawed implementation, or at Panasonic so Panasonic can open up to select manually if we want aps-c crop, please do so.

Suddenly as a M43 user this camera is starting to look more tempting. Canon has a wide range of cheap telephoto lenses. I hate tripods but i guess i could live with one. Hmmm. Ah no AF means no....damn it.

Great video and amazing pics! That's exactly what I needed to see as I had the Canon EF 17-40 L 4 in mind to use with my S1 and MC-21. Convinced, though it would be great to have a couple of RAW or JPEG files from the shoot available to download... and yes, no AF-C is a bummer, but may be addressed with a firmware update down the line? Who knows...

I have the Canon 135mm F2 and i just can´t focus on the MC-21. I hear the conformation beep but focus is off. Anyone else WHO has this problem. Can it be something wrong with my lens?

Hi, In the link another converter design appears, this is different from yours. In one I can read Canon EF-l and in the other just sigma sa-l ??

Intresting Camera but if i cant track birds in flight with my 150-600mm Contemporary i still have to wait. Eos r is not a Thing because of the Low fps on Af-c

I've never met an autofocus that impressed me anyway. Like electronic zoom, I'm sure it exists for somebody, but that somebody isn't me.
