I’m not sure if Huey is so much behind his brothers with arc or if because Huey stories feel less connected because his character growth and arc isn’t tied to some bigger ongoing plot like Search for Della or Louie Inc. I have noticed we are getting a lot of Huey focused episodes that deal with his struggles and looks deeper at his character the same as his brothers, but unlike their arcs there is just nothing else tied to that, so it seems like Huey has no focus or isn’t progressing.
If we look back at Louie or even Dewey’s arcs in previous seasons they didn’t really make major changes for most of their seasons. Louie doesn’t really get what Scrooge is trying to teach him until the penultimate episode of season 2. Dewey got nowhere in his search until the Sunchaser episode. Huey is making the same progress IMO, but his character arc is more internal struggle than an external one like his brothers, which makes sense. Huey is very controlled oriented and can be a bit of perfectionist his struggles work better when played off other characters, like Louie disrupting his carefully laid out Trick or Treat plan. Huey season is happening, it is just not tied to a Huey wants to do something plot like Dewey and Louie’s were.

I actually like your interpretation of Huey's character development, Seaniccus.
I always thought that the fact that Huey had so little screen time, and Dewey so much, even in season 3, was because the writers had zero interest in developing Huey as a character and rather use his time on Dewey attention seeking gimmicks.
I think Huey is going to have a huge part in the last part of this season, which is his season.

I think I just realized why FOWL wanted a feather from Scrooge.
Ancestry test, as Webbie has shown, he has a big Family tree, but it’s all cousins and nephews. Does Scrooge McDuck have an heir?
Which is probably the key thing that they’re wanting from the beginning. After all the papyrus is only supposed to appear in front of Scrooge McDuck’s heir.
And with that papyrus it would just be a few pen strokes to rule the world.

I think my favorite part about this episode was how they used different villains to combat each team, or just Scrooge in one case. It's also interesting how each FOWL member here came from various Disney productions: Rockerduck from the Disney comics, Gandra Dee from the original "Ducktales" cartoon, Steelbeak from "Darkwing Duck," and Black Heron from this show.
I really do wonder what they'll do with Scrooge's feather.

  • @mightyfilm

Steelbeak is starting to be a little more seasoned and threatening with this episode. He's not quite the debonair, conniving mastermind yet, but there are seeds in this episode. You gotta love Huey trying to appeal to Steelbeak with the "I'm you as a child" bit that instantly failed. And let's not forget the Spice Master, played by wacky comedian Flula Borg (or however you spell it).

  • @robertmacke6358

My best guess is that FOWL is, like you suggested, going to make a clone or something of a member of the McDuck clan, and they're doing it BECAUSE they want to find the Papyrus again. Scrooge wrote that it would only be found by an heir of Scrooge McDuck. (Though the specific warning also included something about the Papyrus' FINAL resting place. So that opens the door for theories.) But anyway, FOWL may be creating their own McDuck heir to find the Papyrus. Why? Maybe Bradford wants Scrooge to forgot about his involvement again?

    • @elenanojkovic2554
      @elenanojkovic2554 3 года назад +7

      Spoilers for ep 17 ahead.
Scrooge and Matilda at one point say that what makes McDuck family great is not the name but the people in it. At the same time it is strongly implied that they consider Webby, who is not related to McDucks by blood or by name, to be part of the family. So it's implied that being a part of McDuck family, and thus Scrooge's heir (provided you are younger then him of course) has nothing to do with blood but with choice. In other words, being a found family/choosen family of a McDuck family member(s) seems to have as much, if not more meaning, as being actually related to them by blood. And in this case it has to be Scrooge's choice since it is HIS heirs we are talking about. So if Scrooge doesn't consider someone to be his heir, they might never find the scrooll even if they are his relative.
Or I might be reading too much into all of this. I'm seriously obsessed by now.

Also, it may be a copy of Doofenschmurtz and Perry the Platypus, but imagine an episode where Dewey confronts Don Karnage in the latter's old stomping grounds of Cape Suzette, only to find out he's already in battle with the fully grown Molly Cunningham as seen in the promo poster. This breaks Dewey's heart like.
Dewey: " I thought I was your arch enemy! I stole your ship and crew, we even had a sword duel!"
Karnage: "You are it's just well... Molly and I have been at this longer than you have."

About the Huey development. I actually think that both loui and huey seem to be less focused on because of dewey in the first season. I feel like he is the only one who had more time devoted to his problems than the other triplets. Even in the later season there are still episodes that are about him (se2: Last Christmas and a whole ep with della, SE 3 Ragnarok and double o duck.). Of course this makes a lot of sense, duwey loves to be in the spotlight and also has a lot of friends. Thus he joins them in episodes. But I still think the episodes with huey are good. The Trickering were he plant a perfect route. The Fountain of youth were he is robbed of the older brother fokus. Even his dream in se 2 Nightmares on motorhill say so much about his desire to be a good older brother. (also that is not his season).

I'm really enjoying more Lena and Violet. I'd kinda like to see an episode that starts off at their place and maybe their dads get caught up in some Duck family shenanigans.
Maybe counter-balanced by Della and Donald's parenting styles vs a more suburban one. Not in an antagonistic way or anything but more if an "you do this everyday?" sort of wonder.
Plus I'd just like some character development on them.

    POSSIBLE SPOILERS
I think Webby's a clone of Della that F.O,W,L. created some time after their first encounter with Scrooge (in the next episode) in order to find the Papyrus of Binding which can now only be found by Scrooge's true heir as a result of "the first adventure" and I think Beakley (who, herself, might've worked for F.O.W.L. at some point, seeing as their ideals somewhat align) rescued and hid away before they could use her. It'd explain why she'd lie about being Webby's grandma, why she's always been so overprotective of her, why the return of F.O.W.L. seemed to be driving her over the edge in "the Impossibin", and even why they'd need Scrooge's DNA again, seeing as their previous attempt at creating/raising Scrooge's heir to find it failed. Webby's similarities with Della's have been pretty obvious since the second we met the latter and having her be a litteral clone of the boys' mother would cement her as a blood relative (even though she already fits in the family just fine regardless).

Often it's not the rejection of having emotions, but of being dependent on them. This can be particularly so in the case of characters like Huey who are young, but I feel it can also be because favouring being logical often gets you easily mocked. 'You aren't flying by the seat of your pants making a mess of everything? How lame are you?' We flat out see this with Huey in 'Astro Boyd' where he gets mocked for just wanting to do things properly. Heck, looking at who surrounds him, Huey often HAS to be the logical one or nothing will get done.

The Ramrod plans to conjure up an alternate version of him or perhaps past self. The Fountain of Youth, not to make them young, but rather, to age the cloned Scrooge to match his other incarnation. Third Eye Diamond to give the resultant clone the knowledge of Scrooge. Harp of Mervana to make sure their clone stays honest and can't betray them (or perhaps to find their inner truth to steal the Sword of Swanstantine). And finally Gene the Genie to make a suitable fiancée for clone-Scrooge to have a child with. They'll then age the 'descendent' and use them to get the Papyrus of Binding.

Well, she blind with her flash bomb but the blindness was temporary so it doesn’t count as physical violence towards the McDuck family.
