I noticed some old aunties selling giant baguettes on the side of the road so I bought one and took it to my favorite Banh Mi Shop. I asked them to fill it full with thịt heo quay (roast crispy pork). Everyone was surprised and said they have never seen a banh mi so big before. It was also very delicious. I shared some with a local delivery driver who was waiting in the restaurant and he we had a good chat.

I had teachers for short stretches when I was new to vietnam. Once I had the basics down I tried to learn on my own just chatting whenever possible

Now that is a sandwich and only $8. At Subway it would cost about $40-50 USD. I tried to eat a huge sandwich like that once and my jaw actually locked open. I had to pop it back into place. Scared me.
