I never say this because all the instruction vids are pretty much the same, but yours is by far the best. Including both PC and Pixel (I have a Pixel 9 so this was perfect) instructions is awesome. Now if only they made the sounds vary by profile, it would be splenid! The wife said "the car already draws attention, I don't need it to draw more" 😃
SO YOU HAVE TO REMOVE “.wav” at the end of your file for newer teslas or it won’t read it. You also can only place one sound at a time in the file! I learned that the hard way after doing everything for hours. Finally figured it out. !!!
Regarding the problem with the file name: On a Windows computer the ".wav" extension is a known file type. Therefore by default unless you change the setting on the file explorer the extensions will not show. If that's the case and you name the file "LockChime.wav" you are actually naming the file "LockChime.wav.wav" or if the file is an mp3 file then the name is "LockChime.wav.mp3". A good rule of thumb is to remove the .wav from the file name and IF the icon that represents the file remains the SAME, that means you are actually NOT displaying the file extension and the file name was always ".wav" or ".mp3". On a Windows computer to change the settings and show file extensions open the Yellow folder "File Explorer" and go to the "Options" menu under the "View" tab, uncheck the "Hide extensions for known file types" checkbox. That will show the file with the REAL extension and you can change it to ".wav"
@@sgiron2354how about for mac?? I’m stuck stuck at this part… do I name file “LockChime” or LockChime.wav” . Also how big do I make the partition for the file? The lowest I can do is around 9mb. so it has to be .wav extension has to be renamed lockchime (all lower case) dragged onto tesla thumb drive, then connect usb to glove compartment usb slot, then goto lock sound from tesla comptuer......usb drive-select chime.
Hey do you know how to do this for the horn sound?? I can’t do it! I’ve tried for 2 weeks… I have the lock chime but I can’t figure out how to do it for horn, thanks!
Hey thanks for the reply! So i ended up deleting the OG file and renamed it to the appropriate file and it still plays the OG sound. Despite me even not plugging it back into the tesla. I think it may be saved onto the tesla itself? Any leads on the fix to this? REALLY appreciate you helping me by the way! I subscribed. @@PhonesAndDrones
Next time, start the video with caveat that this only works for newer cars that have the Boombox feature. That way no one wastes their time following your directions that will never actually work.

Are you sure your OS wasn't hiding extensions and yours was actually called LockChime.wav.wav?

Thank yuo so much. I was killing myself trying to figure it out
Well done brother. Finally a concise yet detailed and simple explanation of how to do customs lock sounds. Hard to find videos like this.
Appreciate it. Thank you!!
THANK YOU FOR THIS :)

Note: I had to get rid of the .wav in the name for my Tesla to read. You can only have one LockChime.

this is the first video i watch on your channel and i have to say THAT THUMBNAIL IS SO UNDERRATED. BRAVOOOOO MY FRIEND
Great video thank you!
Can I use the drive that came with my car?
Yes you can!

damn, I got fomo with my 2018 MOdel 3! sounds like so much fun!!!
does it only work with the tesla usb? or can i use any old usb drive
How do you turn volume up on lock chime? It is not very loud
You cannot do it on the car. You would have to edit it and increase the volume on the file its self.
@@PhonesAndDrones That’s what I figured even the stock ones are not very loud. Need a way to adjust outside speaker volume.
Can’t find boombox on my 2021 Model 3. Is it a post 2021 feature?
Is there a maximum length for the wav file?
less than 1mb
I got an update but that wasn’t included on my update
Can you make a video on how to to do it on the iphone ? I can't figure how to get it on the files app 😢
Great info. Thank you! Quick question, can we add more than one Lock Sound?
Thank you! And no sadly it is restricted to only one at a time. You need to go into the drive and add and remove as needed
@@PhonesAndDrones Gotcha! Thanks again!

can i have lock sound and honk sound in one usb drive?

made mine to use the roblox oof death sound. what a time to be alive 😭
Where can I download the Mario Bros. Coin Chime. It's not listed on the link in the Reddit thread.
Download the app “Zedge” and get it from there.
Does it have to be Tesla’s flash drive?
No any flash drive or portable HD will work
How do you do it on a Pre Refresh MX?
How do you turn up or turn down lock sound? My Lock Sound is very loud
try joe mode
If you're as old as I am, use: Initiating Shutdown Sequence.
i dont have the boombox option
Won’t work on my MYP 2023. Saved on usb drive as instructed, only plays random sounds not new wav file
same did you get it fix
2:06 - ▶️
Will this work using a USB C drive that’s in the center console?
Has to be on the same drive sentry mode records on
How to actually change it though? It's stuck in the first one I put on there.
You can only have 1 active at a time on the drive. If you wanted to change it, you would need to rename another file again...Rinse and Repeat

@@james6454 haven’t heard of this. Try a hard reset in the car then put the drive back in!
@@PhonesAndDrones oo good idea. I'll try it when I get home and let you know the results

You get only one lock chime pick wisely 😒
Mercedes -AMG EQE sound like a spaceship .
You said that you must change the name and file type but you didn’t change it and it was working for you! What gives?

for some reason when i did this my unlock sound wont work anymore
Once again they limit it to a single choice for no reason. Ugh.
Extremely annoying 😤
Yeah I’d love for the random one in the drop down to be a list I made.

Cry about it
Whats considered newer car?
Just say u poor 😭😭
Someone is mad their Tesla is outdated 😂
lol why is this guy so sad 😂
Kinda stinks you can only do 1 sound
Didn't work. Try again.
All we wanted was a real quick answer… instead we got 8 minutes of shite.
