I just talked my ma into buying a 2010. Single owner and only 100000kms. Not too bad for the year. Sealing the deal today as she took it for an overnight test drive. Non-turbo V6 has plenty of power for my 67 year old ma
This new Taurus is massive for a good reason. For all you whiffle-ball players who don't follow the industry, Ford's Crown Victoria is history. The Fusion is now the mid-size car in the Ford line-up, and the Taurus is their big, FULL SIZE model. Get it, guys? Hello? What is really going on is there's an entire generation of weenies under the age of 35 that have never driven anything bigger than a Honda. A real man still appreciates the ride you get out of a big car like this new Taurus! BOOM!!!
@@Mrmatteo08 Eh, I always felt like this one was a little undercooked. I like the looks but the proportions are wonky from that ancient Volvo platform.
This is a beautiful car. I stopped by a dealership the other day, and this is a huge, impressive car. I drive a 2004 Taurus, and it is NOTHING like this new beast of a car. My car looks like a turd with 4 wheels compared to this. I would love to get this car. Way to go Ford!
It's a neat car. I looked at this and a 2011 Malibu and due to my height (6'6) I chose the Malibu, but if I could've fit in the Taurus I would've gone for it.
I’m also tall (5’11). I prefer SUVs because they’re so much easier to get in and out of. I once rented a Taurus, and it felt more like falling into the vehicle, and then pulling myself out of a really deep hole. I currently drive a 2006 Ford Escape.
I have a 2011 that I bought 3 years ago. I got the Limited. Compared to the competition nothing else really came close. I bought from Carmax and fortunately between their willingness to fix what I found wrong and the warranty quite a few things (nothing major) were corrected. The heated/cooled seats are completely lame but comfortable. I love the ambient lighting! Unfortunately it now needs suspension etc. work done. I'm fortunate to have another car...the Taurus is going. I wish you would have speed tested the regular engine MW but overall great video!
I was looking/researching this car for possible purchase...wonder why you are getting rid of it with only 80k miles? What kind of repairs if you can share? I like the cars looks, horsepower, price, but I'm gun shy of Ford/Gm products.....been burned so many times before....so appreciate your input......80k miles should be just getting broke in.
The interior in these are really nice ..doors feel extremely solid to open and close and have some weight ..the interior is elegant yet durable and robust ...it doesnt look or feel cheap but it isnt expensive for what you get .
I own a 99 Ford Taurus SE, and it is a great car. Sure it lacks Auxillary and CD capabilities as they stocked them with irreplaceable Cassette players, but nevertheless, the car is still kicking it with 210k miles. Great vehicle, after I'm finished with college I want to invest in 2018, which unfortunately marks the end of the Taurus, Fusion, Fiesta, and Focus.
the Accord, Camry, and CC are all mid-size sedans. the Taurus is a full-size sedan (which explains the significant size and price difference). however, Ford offers its own mid-size sedan, called the "Fusion", which directly competes with the previously mentioned imports.
Looking to get one. Preferably the sho... I stopped by at my local ford dealership but they where out of stock. They are getting hard to find this generation
I see your comment is already 5 months old, but you do know that the Taurus is discontinued now... right? That is why the dealerships are "out of stock"
This body style is better than my 2009 Taurus which has the Ford big chrome three bar grill and Oval. I do not like the console that sits between driver and passenger. But it's a beautiful sedan
Yes, I have heard of the Fusion. My point is I would rather have those cars. I'm not comparing mid size to large size, I'm just stating I would rather have those cars than a over 30,000.00 Taurus. I have not read anywhere that the Fusion out performs camry or accords, I have read motortrend state that it is the best car because all the different engines, options and especially the price, that is why it is car of the year. P.S. I own a ford.
I had one of these for a few years and it was cramped on the inside despite being larger on the outside which I never really got. It wasn't a bad car, just seemed too small for it's size.
That's because of its Volvo structure. It's the safest full-size sedan in its class for crash protection. Same thing with the Ford Explorer. It has a huge steel beam running around the whole mid-section and a steel cage surrounding the gas tank. There're extra crash protection impact beams in the rear as well. 70 mph crash tested getting hit by a pickup truck. Yep, it's that safe. Sacrifices interior room for safety.
@RickStylus the new Taurus is a sexy car along with the Lincoln MKS...these videos don't do it justice you really have to see one in person, truly a beautiful stand out car, they look amazing driving on the road! Buick is next in line to be dumped by GM if you haven't seen their sales lately...
Plus, the reason you don't see as many fords on the road as hondas and toyotas is because most people don't really know how much ford has improved and how good their cars are. Plus those companies still have a very loyal following so of course those people aren't going to switch. There's also the dealings with consumers holding grudges against this company as if it could never change and improve.
I'm only 30 and i have driven and owned many cars larger than a Honda Accordian, LOL, my current daily driver is a 2009 Lincoln Twn Car, and my play car is a 1975 Eldorado. I prefer big full size body on frame, cars, not coke cans on wheels.
Not many vehicles today catch my eye anymore . Taurus like these do,both new Broncos, and Rangers. Sticking to my 2002 explorer bit more, wife does like her Edge, runs well. Happy week all from 🇨🇦
@carguy379 the car does look very nice I think. It looks a lot closer to the older cars than the recent previous models did. The only thing that puts me off from it is the SIZE (caps for a reason lol) of the car. I was at the parts store last week, and when I came out there was one parked next to me...it was ginormous! Wow Good pricing and nice interiors on the car too. Seems GM and Ford are doing a very very nice turnaround in my book. I'd even think hard about buying their cars now. Kei

i'm thinking about a used sho or srt8 jeep...prices are pretty reasonable on the sho but concerned with a reliabilty. jeeps are a little more pricier but again reliabilty is the factor.
Rob 72 SHOs are undef $10,000 nowadays but the PTU fluid is an issue that Ford argued would never be an issue. And now their Fusion transmissions killed all future for American sedans!
Marlon Turner I have a 2012 Limited and a 2014 Limited. The 14 is flex fuel. I love em both! The 14 has the 8 inch navigation screen. The 12 has the dash and center console that lites up like monotone spaceship, at night. Both have ultra leather that doesn't get hot when it's streaming, or cold to the touch when it's freezing. The trunk can hold, at least, three bodies! They are full of safety features and technology. The ride is smooth and quiet. The 12 is noticebly quicker than the 14, cuz of the flex fuel. I'm not getting rid of either until the can't run anymore. Oh yeah, no major maintenance issues. Just the usual wear and tear.
Back in the days when the American companies still tried making good cars before they became truck and large SUV focused. Who was driving this car at the strip? 14.1? Was the driver not in it 100%?
Newer cars have lower gearing. More power down low vs up top like say a Crown Vic 14.1 is still fast for a stock heavily detuned V6.
