Those SHOs were probably the heaviest cars on the track......always a shock went they take off ...AWD is awesome.

These cars stock are pushing 300+ HP and just with a stage 1 upgrade (cold air intake & tuner) you can easily push 400+ HP... SHO’s are crazy sleepers

Don’t sleep on the Flex Ecoboost either. Mine was just a simple intake and tune and it would smoke my buddies 2016 Mustang GT. Didn’t pull on me until about 95-100mph

I used to work for Stilen; I know what a V6 twin-turbo is capable of. Add in AWD, and you have a beast. Best part: it’s a sleeper!
Had a Stillen done 1990 Black 5 spd 300zx twin turbo back in 1991. I miss thay beast, I put the wood down on GNs, 5.0s and Vettes. Only got beat by my brother Syclone. We still have both cars, plus my 87 GN(Ken Duttlwier did that car in 1989) Wolf, Greddy, HK, Stillen, those where the days. Steve was a cool dude, as well got an engine from Lingenfelter himselff when I took Justice Clarence Thomas black ZR1 to Indiana in 1995. 80s and 90s where the days. Man, I'm old.

I love this sedan, it’s sleeper Beast and it has a lot of potential besides the AWD, V6, Automatic, and it’s Twin Turbocharged

I traded my 2011 Ford Taurus SHO for a gently used 2015, I work at GM but I love this car so much! Oh and it pulls new Camaros you name it ;)

Love my 2016 SHO. Friends all think it’s just some oversized sedan the first time they ride in it until you hit an on ramp. Then they hear those twin turbos!!

I have a 2016 SHO and it is one of the most comfortable smoothest riding car out there and I've been in plenty of high end cars. This wasn't a car made to be a cop car.... they just ended up getting them just like the charger.
I have no problem out running and out maneuvering everyone else AND scaring the shit out of my passengers on the highway in my SHO. LOL

No it's still fun. The ET's are what matters, and that SHO was killing almost everyone except that Audi that costs more than double.
There were a lot of late launches but you cant take anything away from the fact that he had all perfect launches. And how about the prostreet honda ? Man he had to be running setup cold. That guy looker and sounded like he had 100 grand in engine
For those of you who think this was some kind of joke. Ask yourself why does the kingdom of Dubai use Ford Torus SHO as police cars. Before 2017 they had to use two cars 1 high in supercar and usually some type of four-door Mercedes SUV when they attempted to arrest people in Dubai. Now they're able to do it with one car, the Ford Taurus SHO.

What's even more impressive is Ford taking it a step further with the new Explorer PI. It's got the 3.0 Ecoboost and it hauls pretty good.

yes, some of these drivers a bit on the slow side with reaction times however this is an all wheel drive Tauri with a modified twin turbo 3.5 motor. Very quick out of the gate indeed. That's what 400 plus horsepower and all wheel drive does for you. These motors easily modified to produce way more than 400 horses with a chip job, air intake box, exhaust mods. Weights around 4200 lbs as well.

@@motortoys9942 Yeah, look at the time when it beat the white SHO. The fastest I saw for the heavily modified black SHO was 12.2. The RS3 was only running a stage 1 tune. I owned an SHO the first year they were made. Yamaha made the engine back then. It was definitely one of the best cars I've ever owned, and probably the best! The highway performance was unbelievable! That's where the power really showed up!
I think some of those drivers were making sandwhiches or calling family members to talk about life at the light.

I have a 2014 Taurus SEL and while it doesn't have the engine the SHO has, these Taurus' have EXCELLENT launch out the gate. I never lose a battle at a red light that turns green in that thing. lol
Just race every production car at every light and rack up the wins, even if the other drivers don't realize you're racing. Works great for me.

How are SHOs able to get better starts out of the hole almost every time? The competition can't all suck with the christmas tree. Almost every time the SHOs have 3-4 car lengths out before the other car even starts moving. I understand AWD helps you hook up better, but this is crazy.

It's not about who finishes first. Your time doesn't start when the light turns green. You could sit there on a green light for 10 minutes and the clock wouldn't start until you start moving. They're almost not even racing each other

I think the R35 got a surprise on the line/launch. I knew it would catch and pass the SHO, but the R35 worked hard to do it.
Why is nobody talking about the fact that there was a 1 second gap between the Audi S3 and the SHO while they literally crossed almost at the same time???
The Audi RS3 is a much faster car. Each timer starts when each car crosses the starting line.

So this is what it has come to, mid to low 12 second Taurus’s! That black one is knocking on 11’s!!!!
And the other cars need much better drivers. My all stock (minus exhaust) 86 mustang GT ran 14.0’s on drag radials. How can these guys be running 16’ and 18’s is beyond me!
Just traded my SE 2015 taurus with 3k for a 2013 SHO that had the engine light on (Purge Valve they had no clue) and let me tell you I feel like I'm on top of the world these things are the best cars I've ever owned especially as a family man it feels great having both the kids and wife comfortable and still being able to get it if I wish.
The drivers of some of these competitor cars looked like they had stepped out for lunch...
I have the sister car Lincoln MKS with 3.5 eco boost awd and yeah those are basically sleepers a beast in red light races might tune mine you can make 500 wheel easy with a tune
