    I have a 2006.234,655 miles as of today. Done the recommended service. Have had no major problems. Its important in my opinion to be the only driver of your car. Other people just stomp it and go. Be easy on your car and it will treat you right. Also I purchased this car with 44,500 miles. Its been very dependable.

Did you flush your coolant and at what mileage did you do that maintenance? The Taurus is one of Ford's best, and it's a pity that they're no more into sedans. Very 'few' cars can actually compete with the Taurus for the price point, I don't know how the Chrysler 300 would do, but that's the only car I am comparing with the Taurus.

We just repaired my jeep for a grand and after a week we’re letting it sell for parts because it’s still overheating like a ***** (head gasket, radiator, water pump, etc. If the car has it, it’s a coin flip on if it’s still functional). Anywho, I’m in the process of acquiring a vehicle pretty close to this one’s details, 2011 Taurus with 220K on it. My ears perk up for anything over 200k but based on this video I feel more confident in the car. It has a great interior and 18 city/ 28 highway, and it’s all down to inspecting under the hood and coughing up the money at this point. King Daniel I get your point for a car that cheap but in any other industry this type of stuff would be unacceptable. It’s not like when you go to the store to buy fresh produce that it’s your job to make sure it’s safe to eat. Consumer protection is an amazing thing, these guys are very shady and like I was saying living in a protected state the consumer can sue over false advertisement and other things. It is always good to be protected and even for 1,200 cars because it’s not like the main group buying them has a ton of disposable income to just buy another if it breaks.

You think they're "shady" but they're not doing anything illegal or shady. Sounds like the ones with unreasonable expectations are uneducated consumers like yourself. It doesn't matter what other industries are doing, this is standard in the CAR industry. Consumer protection laws are important but shouldn't burden companies or individuals with ignorant customers and their demands. The best consumer protection is educating yourself BEFORE a purchase.

  • @baronhyatt6729
    @baronhyatt6729 5 лет назад +1

    The reason why the car is cheap is maintenance on it will kill you example let's say your water pump goes out it'll cost you $1,500 to replace it because the water pump is behind the timing chain and is ran by the timing chain so you have to take the timing chain off the timing all of that and it'll take you about three days to do it

    • @PCSPITTER4NY
      @PCSPITTER4NY 5 лет назад +3

      That's the only expensive repair on these taurus. These are actually very reliable cars. And the water pump are less than 100 dollars, if u know a cheap mechanic you can get the job done for 600. I have this same car with more than 140,000 and haven't changed anything yet (not even a sensor) and zero lights on the dash, it's amazing. I know about the water pump so I bought one off ebay for 70 bucks just in case. Oh yea, I changed the blend door actuator (35$) because of the clicking noise in the dash.

    • @DK-bk1vq
      @DK-bk1vq 5 лет назад

      Baron, changing the water pump is not doing maintenance. That's repairing it.Keeping your anti freeze flushed or changing to new, fresh coolant in a periodic basis is doing maintenance.I have a 2004 Taurus SES with 343,000 miles that is still running strong, thanks to maintenance. I have a 2012 Taurus Limited with 181,251 miles. Best car I've ever owned. No issues. None. And I only put in basic car care, keeping the oils, fluids, filters, and tires fresh or new. And I'm not very timely when it gets done either, but I do it. I bought the 2012 knowing about the water pump, but a lot of people just don't put enuff time into their 25 to 45 thousand dollar vehicle, and blame the manufacturer. Not saying that's you, just saying a little love for that expensive machine goes a long way.

    • @ERICtheLATE
      @ERICtheLATE 5 лет назад +1

      Well, if you do notice the coolant leaking, or maybe get to 1 overheat event and park it, when the crack it open to change the pump, the surrounding chain tensioners are worn nearly to the metal or cracking, it is a great overhaul to have done, and lots of important gaskets are swapped out at that point, too. If you push it through 3 overheats, it warps the head and it is oil and antifreeze mixing destroyed bearing city.
