This game almost looked like a Las Vegas rig job. Inexplicable play calling and play. As if every player on the team had their families threatened by the mob.

I thought it looked sus too , plays with no one trying to stop them or tackle guys . The Saints do a run play and the Bucs practically open up a huge gap for them to run through . It looked pathetic! Reminded me of last year how at least 6 players looked to be purposely fing up .

Yeah they were deep passes on deep coverage. I think they should’ve came out and played like that but Canalas had different ideas.

They really need to build the run game in the off season. That might mean O-linemen, an RB, and play calling changes. For a lot of the season, it's Baker or bust. Need balance.
@redline5406 agreed, but they tried to force it today. White has been extremely dangerous catching, didn't see any screens today, but I turned it off when white fumbled.
Week 17 and Bowles/Canales are STILL doing it.
If you can't beat the Saints they will be one-and-done if they even make the playoffs.
Mayfield isn't a quitter, He still threw for over 300 yds. with 2 tds. Why are we still seeing so many false starts on the O line? If Mayfield is causing this with his cadence then he needs to quit being so cute with it. Canales needs do a better job scheming his receivers open as well.
That 300 yards is misleading they were garbage time yards you gotta watch the game not stats.
Saints were playing man coverage with a 2 man cloud and it fu*ked Baker all up.

@forgive9380 yeah 52 total yards. Baker had 44 of it. With one pass going 32 to Evans. Baker only had 60 yards late in the third quarter 🤦♂️ he had 185 yards when Saints switched to soft zone. 54 yarder to Palmer. 35 yarder to Mike and 47 yarder to Godwin and a 14 yard screen to Edmonds.
And like you said, in garbage time, verse soft zone coverage. When saints knew their was no way Tampa would win.
Garbage yards in the second half, but yea, gotta get back to what they were doing the two weeks prior.

@@nje32If Rachaad and Palmer don't fumble then we are still in the game. And Camarda can't put all of a sudden. Defense gave up an 8 and a half minute TD on the opening drive to a road team in a must win. Canales calling run plays into the pile over an over. Plenty if blame to go around. Baker was bad in the first half but ALL of that other stuff happened too.

Awful game planning by the staff! Stuck to the same things that wasn’t working over and over until it was to late.. Bowles called an absolute stinker on D.. the Saints O coordinator owned him.. Also, the knock on Baker is inconsistency and he has absolutely showed that this season.. he gets hot and cold way to much!!
They really got to stop trying to force running the ball and wasting downs cause of it and then relying on deep passes on third down to continue the drive, there were many factors to todays loss but even with all those problems they still could’ve won the game in the fourth if not for them getting greedy and fumbling

Defense gave up an 8:30 TD drive to start the game. That is the last thing you let a road team do to you. It set the tone for the game. Offense did not help the defense either of course.

Brotha didnt play bad saints defense just played good. 22-33 309 yards 2Tds. Only bad thing is the 2 ints but we’ve seen qbs bounce back from that sbit in game. Watching the game, “in my opinion”, Coaches called run plays when thwy shouldve called pass. Blame baker for the 2 ints but this was one of his best loses of the season. Hoping for a bounce back to now win another 3-4 straight

Watching Baker Mayfield in this interview. In a way he's standing you can tell he's in pain
Poor O line failing to hold the pocket for a QB that takes time to find the pass. We're spoilt after having TB12 releasing accurately in milliseconds. Plus, I think, Baker threw more interceptions in one game than the rest of the season. Weapons are still there. Go Bucs!
Baker threw 2 interceptions Sunday. That's the most he's thrown in a game all year.

First let me say I LOVE the support for Baker in all the comments. I know sports are about owners filling seats , meeting performance quotas . Justin Herbert was in Oregon, came to Chargers and 15 minutes before game time he found out he was facing Patrick Mahomes , he took the Champs to overtime in his first start. Ppl never gave Lamar Jackson a lot of credit but he brings a different style of play . Jared Goff found out he was traded in a shady way to the lions but he put in the work after being criticized . Justin Fields can become that QB with more weapons. Russell Wilson gets talked about by ex teammates and Sean Payton blasts him but still he keeps positive attitude . Point is Baker Mayfield is one man. He can't in one season fix everything by himself that TB has needed to fix before Tom Brady , before Jameis Winston. He needs weapons . O line can barely protect him . Carlton Davis in at least 4 games let the opps get past him to score so many times I feel they need to trade him. A team needs to build as a whole to be confident, bold , strong and make them a force . If the bucs do not retain Baker they will make a big mistake. Fans see he is happy , you can see his heart is playing in each game. Give him weapons , add some edges, defensive guys who are less concerned about money . Add some offensive components to help him out . Derrick Henry or A Saquon Barkley or Zeke. Maybe O'Dell. I've seen that list of 2024 free agents . If Bucs leaders are thinking of the future they need to start now by quietly looking at free agents who can make this team THAT TEAM !!! Sparks ignite flames. The Bucs are that dynasty if the suits get a clue. Baker Mayfield we believe in you !!!! I was a Patriots fan when Drew Bledsoe lead them to Superbowl in the 90s against Brett Favre before Tom Brady Era. I've always liked underdogs.
