I make this all the time however I’ve never thought about purring the onion and fruit, and then squeezing the juice out and throwing the pulp away. Good idea.
I made this and it’s SOOOOO GOOD. The only thing I did differently was I blended in all the other ingredients too not just the onion, pear, and apple. Just to ensure everything is mixed together. AWESOME RECIPE THANK YOU!
I’m so glad I came across your channel!!!! Straight to the point!! Not too long of a video!!! I love beef short ribs and looking all over RUclips to find the video!! I’ve found yours!!! Thank you so much!! As a Chinese American, I love Korean food! Additionally can’t wait to try this recipe and give more recipes a try!!!! Thanks again so much!!! 💕🤗😁💯
Ahh! I love your guys videos. I’m Hispanic but let me tell you I’ve been eating good Korean style because of your videos! They are so good and easy to follow. Gives me a good laugh too ha. Oh and you have awesome music taste! Happy New Years and hope to see more good eats. 🙏🏽😌
Bilarious the "have some restraint" part! Love your channel. Consider having your mom send you the cloth bags she uses. They wont break and are more environmentally friendly. Zero waste. They can be washed and reused! Keep on the great job.
I had this last week at a local Korean restaurant and all I can think of and crave is the cartilage on those short rib bones. It's indeed the best part. 😍😍😍
Thank you for sharing this. I literally just left the Chinese restaurant asking when will they cook them again...not anytime soon so I jumped on here to find them (had a hard time as I didn’t know how to spell the name of them😅) but I put in Chinese ribs and thank goodness your vlog popped up🥰 will definitely be making these in a day or so when I get all of the ingredients. Thank you again❤️
I cooked a little piece just to try the marinade..OHH MAAA GODD its soo good! I doubted the recipe so I put less wine and a bit more soy sauce xD its still great tho! THANK YOU!
Koreans started immigrating to US in early 1970's, mainly to L.A. At that time in Korea, they didn't have meat slicing machines. They butchered meat only with knives. So they couldn't cut kalbi across the ribs, only along the ribs. But they found they could cut across the ribs with the machine. Thus came the name L.A. Kalbi.
Actually, back in the 1950's in Hawaii my mother used to order" la"teral cut short ribs from the butcher to make her style of Hawaiian bbq short ribs which was that same way my Grand mother used to cook her short ribs even before that period of time.I remember her saying 5 pounds of L.A cut short ribs please. Like Los Angeles in the late 60's early 70's there was an influx of korean immigrants who settled here in Hawaii.I have never heard of L.A Kalbi in Hawaii on any recipe or any menu in any restaurants here in my lifetime? One of my best friends is of Korean decent. For him,Its either traditional (full length of the rib)cut or american(lateral or english )cut.I must say i have been eating his mother's kalbi since the 1970's .She never mentioned it as Los Angeles kalbi.Aloha
Daniel - A couple things- What is the white appliance on the counter that has the "orangeish" cover? And after you squeeze the liquid out of the onion/pear/apple mix- do you discard the solids? Seems it could be used for something.. well, other than decorating the 'puter ;) - Also, curious about the hot plate/cooking surface - is that your standard go-to cooking surface or is it for the videoing? And is there a reason beyond convenience you would prefer that over a regular stove fixture? Thanks for your input and the wonderful foods!
Amaranthim Talon It's for filming. Better lighting and camera angles if you aren't restricted by a fixed stove. Think about where the stove is often put in a kitchen, all up in a corner.
Cute!! Specially the part that squirted out!!!😂.. I will be trying it for sure!! My favorite when I go to sushi restaurant !!! Yummy.. thanks for sharing!! You are cute!!!!🙏🙏💕🌿🌿✨💫💕✨🦋💫👏👏
Daniel! I'm preparing a big kbbq feast this weekend and I need your help with some tips for galbi. I'm planning to buy wang galbi and cut it up (roll out style) myself. Have you ever done this yourself? I'm wondering if you leave it rolled up when you dunk it in the galbi sauce marinade overnight or if I should have it unrolled when I let it sit in the marinade and roll it back up just for presentation. Would the marinade need to be any different for this type of cut as opposed to LA galbi? Hope you can do a video on this cut one day but in the meantime I would greatly appreciate your input! have a good week :D
Hi Justin! Oh, looks like your family is in for a treat. For the 왕갈비, I dont think it makes a large difference whether you leave it in the marinade rolled up or unrolled. As long as it is submerged in the liquid. Also, let it sit in that marinade over-night, since you are using a thick piece of meat. (P.s., if you don't corn syrup, use can replace that with honey.) Good eats brother! Enjoy!
Short ribs from white meat market is $13 and up. Short ribs from a Mexican meat market is $5.50. The only thing is I can’t assume it’s going through USDA... haha. Eat at your own risk... :)
I purchased some of those ribs at Walmart here in the states and they were tough. My family refused to eat them so I ended up throwing them away. Maybe I should have fried them instead of baking them.
Best recipe. Not many useless talk. Just straight to the point!

i like that your recipes are simple, easy to follow and user friendly-end results in honest, tasty satisfaction!
We found it hard to learn from (Korean) moms as they never use std portions. A handful of this and that - then becomes so hard to replicate.
I luv simple! 💋

The best recipe, easy to follow
I've made this recipe twice now. Everyone loves it, it works good well with just 1 package about 2lb of short ribs.
Bilarious the "have some restraint" part!
Love your channel. Consider having your mom send you the cloth bags she uses. They wont break and are more environmentally friendly. Zero waste. They can be washed and reused!
Keep on the great job.
I totally agree on the last part of eating the short rib where you have to eat the chewy tendon part.. the best!!!!
Official! So many variations on the recipe here on youtube but this is the one similar to my moms so I FWU. Great video!
Damn! You made it look 👀 so easy but tasty 😋. Thanks bro . I love your clip.👍👍👍💐
I died at "have some restraint" hahahha

Great demo video. Thanks!
I remember when beef was so inexpensive that my mom would have a huge ass tub of this marinating in the fridge at all times. I miss those days. Yummm.
Wonderful simplicity! That’s a winning recipe! 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾😋😋😋🤤🤤🤤

My favorite Korean bbq
Can’t wait to make this!!! I don’t have the corn starch syrup … anyone know what I can use instead or skip?
Love your recipe, will try this later! Thanks in advance.
Thank you in advance chef.
Brown rice syrup from the health food store is a healthy substitute for Corn syrup.
I am also having trouble finding corn starch syrup...possibly he ment corn syrup??
I ate nothing but kimchee and galbi for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for 5 months straight. I was in the best shape of my life.
My #☝🏽 favorite food of all time
PMC05 Me 2! 💋
I cooked a little piece just to try the marinade..OHH MAAA GODD its soo good! I doubted the recipe so I put less wine and a bit more soy sauce xD its still great tho! THANK YOU!

This is the only thing I order when I eat Korean bbq lol.
Amen! But you know, this LA Kalbi is soooo expensive in Korea 😭 Not sure where you are living, but when I visit the US, its my go-to!
I live in California. KBBQ is everywhere lol.

Oh, and btw, that's a "fuzzy logic" rice cooker with the orange cover.
LA Kalbi is my favorite Korean food! If you're in the US, you can buy the short ribs at Sam's Club.
Hello friend, I would like to know if that website makes shipments to Mexico
YES!
HELL YEAAAAAAH
OH YEA! TAMAKUN RT!!
Man is there a pre made sauce i van marinate them in?
Bombbbb!!!!
How many minutes on each side?
Cute!! Specially the part that squirted out!!!😂.. I will be trying it for sure!! My favorite when I go to sushi restaurant !!! Yummy.. thanks for sharing!! You are cute!!!!🙏🙏💕🌿🌿✨💫💕✨🦋💫👏👏
What accompagnement can we eat with the beef?
Will this go well with chicken?... Because beef is banned here... :(
Aishh.... It looks so yumm..i want to eat!
I doubt you will get the same result with chicken. But try korean chicken (google it). That is my fav as well.
what is starch syrup?
Came for the pronunciation, stayed for the meats!
How do you keep it all hot when you cook on that little pan lol
How do you know when the pear is ripe?
July M i skip the pear 💋
That taste like success! Haha
A bit confused about the straining after blending the pear and apple. How did you strain it - what is the cloth thing you used? Where do I but it?
Robin Berman i think it's a simple cotton cloth
It’s called JCloth
You can buy it from anywhere
It’s later. Thank you

What to use in lieu of Corn Starch Syrup?
Just checked the recipe, you can use honey instead :-) hope this helps
What type of pan do you recommend?
Can I cook/reduce the marinade afterward and then brush it on as a sauce?
Kyle Flynn if that floats your boat 💋

I buy mine at the Mexican market too.. If it is in the US, it has to meet the same standards as meat in any other store.
Nope, not going to thank you later. Can’t wait to make them.Oh thank you .
Can I use brown sugar instead of that syrup?
Yes, you can. You can also use honey. i use raw honey or brown sugar.
Alisher Nizamov thank you
Mans said fresh out the grill lmao
is it "kalbi" or LA galbi"??
Hey I love you but is it sanitary to use kitchen towels for straining. Maybe cheesecloth?
I am sure his kitchen towel was new.
And teriyaki not?
You said cornstarch syrup instead of corn syrup.
Is it necessary to strain the blended up ingredients or can I just use it without doing that step? Thanks in advance.
You can grate the apple, onion, and pear.
I made it but not tender!!!
Ewwww yummmmy 💋
LOL Any chicken feet recipes?

Yes pan fry or grill them. They cook fast and if you use this recipe your family should love them.
I wish BC had better BBQ in all aspects, Korean or American style
