    I make this all the time however I’ve never thought about purring the onion and fruit, and then squeezing the juice out and throwing the pulp away. Good idea.

    I made this and it’s SOOOOO GOOD. The only thing I did differently was I blended in all the other ingredients too not just the onion, pear, and apple. Just to ensure everything is mixed together. AWESOME RECIPE THANK YOU!

      We found it hard to learn from (Korean) moms as they never use std portions. A handful of this and that - then becomes so hard to replicate.

    Love your channel. Consider having your mom send you the cloth bags she uses. They wont break and are more environmentally friendly. Zero waste. They can be washed and reused!

I literally just left the Chinese restaurant asking when will they cook them again...not anytime soon so I jumped on here to find them (had a hard time as I didn’t know how to spell the name of them😅) but I put in Chinese ribs and thank goodness your vlog popped up🥰 will definitely be making these in a day or so when I get all of the ingredients. Thank you again❤️

    Koreans started immigrating to US in early 1970's, mainly to L.A. At that time in Korea, they didn't have meat slicing machines. They butchered meat only with knives. So they couldn't cut kalbi across the ribs, only along the ribs. But they found they could cut across the ribs with the machine. Thus came the name L.A. Kalbi.

    • @HawaiiD
      @HawaiiD 4 года назад +2

      Actually,back in the 1950's in Hawaii my mother used to order" la"teral cut short ribs from the butcher to make her style of Hawaiian bbq short ribs which was that same way my Grand mother used to cook her short ribs even before that period of time.I remember her saying 5 pounds of L.A cut short ribs please. Like Los Angeles in the late 60's early 70's there was an influx of korean immigrants who settled here in Hawaii.I have never heard of L.A Kalbi in Hawaii on any recipe or any menu in any restaurants here in my lifetime?One of my best friends is of Korean decent.For him,Its either traditional (full length of the rib)cut or american(lateral or english )cut.I must say i have been eating his mother's kalbi since the 1970's .She never mentioned it as Los Angeles kalbi.Aloha

    Daniel - A couple things- What is the white appliance on the counter that has the "orangeish" cover? And after you squeeze the liquid out of the onion/pear/apple mix- do you discard the solids? Seems it could be used for something.. well, other than decorating the 'puter ;) - Also, curious about the hot plate/cooking surface - is that your standard go-to cooking surface or is it for the videoing? And is there a reason beyond convenience you would prefer that over a regular stove fixture? Thanks for your input and the wonderful foods!

    • @annainspain5176
      @annainspain5176 6 лет назад +1

      Amaranthim Talon It's for filming. Better lighting and camera angles if you aren't restricted by a fixed stove. Think about where the stove is often put in a kitchen, all up in a corner.

    • @annainspain5176
      @annainspain5176 6 лет назад

      Oh, and btw, that's a "fuzzy logic" rice cooker with the orange cover.

    Daniel! I'm preparing a big kbbq feast this weekend and I need your help with some tips for galbi. I'm planning to buy wang galbi and cut it up (roll out style) myself. Have you ever done this yourself? I'm wondering if you leave it rolled up when you dunk it in the galbi sauce marinade overnight or if I should have it unrolled when I let it sit in the marinade and roll it back up just for presentation. Would the marinade need to be any different for this type of cut as opposed to LA galbi? Hope you can do a video on this cut one day but in the meantime I would greatly appreciate your input! have a good week :D

    • @FutureNeighbor
      @FutureNeighbor  6 лет назад +1

      Hi Justin! Oh, looks like your family is in for a treat. For the 왕갈비, I dont think it makes a large difference whether you leave it in the marinade rolled up or unrolled. As long as it is submerged in the liquid. Also, let it sit in that marinade over-night, since you are using a thick piece of meat. (P.s., if you don't corn syrup, use can replace that with honey.) Good eats brother! Enjoy!

    Short ribs from white meat market is $13 and up. Short ribs from a Mexican meat market is $5.50. The only thing is I can’t assume it’s going through USDA... haha. Eat at your own risk... :)
