    That looks like Linda's house. That view is to die for. Can't wait to move there.

    I’m putting a mini split in my garage. Thank you for reminding me about asking on that drain and bleach

  • @greasebellygarage
    @greasebellygarage Год назад

    That mini split head is called a cartridge.... Mini splits do not draw air the same way that household furnaces do or air handlers here in Florida regular household Air handlers have to have a p-trap in line which traps water in the condensation line which causes the algae to grow many splits typically just have a drain with no trap and because the drain is not anywhere near the air return in the cartridge there is no risk of drawing it outside air through the drain line so it's basically just a drain tube similar to ones that are inserted into our bodies after surgery. It is also a good idea here in Florida to use vinegar down the drain line instead of bleach and you should do it about once a month especially during the summer months.

    The install/transformation very nice. I am sure it is expensive, but will help the value of the home.
    They can now open the other sliders from the Main Home and make the home feel Bigger.

    Enjoyed the video but car ride was the best part. If I didn't have my Sue I also would be driving around in circles. Thanks to both of you.

    Skip, Our H-vac person told us the only thing we should put down that drain tube is warm water to clear it. No vinegar and no bleach. 🤷‍♀️

    That view is amazing. I would sit out there 24/7. The lanai is huge! The doors look so good! I broke the lock on my sliding glass door too. Great video Skip and Sue!

    Good video Skip. I bet the lawn service will break that drain line in a couple weeks. The next video will be of the tile. I know you’ve got a guy.

    We did the same enclosure with our courtyard villa lanai. We love having the ability to keep rain and dust out of the lanai. We used tinted glass and the darkest screen which has greatly helped since we have a western exposure. I did have insulation blown in before the install as we might install a mini split layer. I too am curious about a self install.

    Hi. Thanks for the video. Does it come with a screen? Some days especially in the fall and winter, I would just like to have a screen up to get fresh air opening the door without a screen will let the bugs in.

    SKIP. Question. On the original home the lanai was screened, but now it is glassed in but.....will the home insurance cover the changes in the event of a loss due to a hurricane ect since it was a addition

      Hello Marsha - We also had our Lanai "glassed-in" and yes, the insurance company will cover damages as the construction company will have to pull a county permit for the work.

      These doors are guaranteed to 125 mph winds by the manufacturer. But I called my insurance and reported the upgrade just to cover my butt. No my insurance did not increase..

      @@TheVillagesSkipSmith I may be wrong but I think the single pane is rated to 75, 125 is the double pane.
