Its an enthusiate choice, not a normie choice. We can shine harder, look equally good, and at a fraction of the cost.
If the people want to dump a house or car downpayment on a jewel go for it.
      Diamonds dont resell well anyways.

Diamonds are a waste of money when you can get moissanite. Moissanite is almost as hard as a diamond and it reflects light better then a diamond. The only way a diamond will have a lot of value if its flawless or almost flawless and the size must HUGE. When you resell your diamonds you get pennys to the dollar. So why spend lots of money on a diamond when moissanite can give you the same look without spending lots of money. The price difference is night and day.

Truthfully, diamonds (natural or CVD) are not my thing. I wear moissanite regardless. Its because of price point. Of course ill have diamond fanboys attacking me calling me poor and all kinds of other childish insults when they themselves are poor as well.
But the bottom line about natural diamonds is they're "blood diamonds." I've known about this long before i discovered a certain online jewelry shop that has been pushing that agenda.
And no im not defending a certain self-projecting manchild who takes pride in bullying others because they don't agree with his views or gets butthurt over unfavorable reviews. I'm simply stating my own personal preferences in my jewelry choices. But i prefer solid silver or gold jewelry with minimal or no stones.
Also, if i want silver and or gold jewelry, I prefer turquoise with my jewelry. As a native american, turquoise (regardless of from which mines they're from) is our "diamond" or preferred choice of stones used in our jewelry.

I hear the arguments but if I can afford a mined diamond I would want the one from earth than lab made. That said, I rather buy watches and other luxury goods over diamonds personally. Edit: I am more into gold than diamonds too. Last diamond purchase was 15yrs ago.

I think there will always be a place for natural mined diamonds. But as time goes on people are shifting away and becoming more aware of other alternatives. They for sure will continue to loose value but it will only bottom out so low you will never get a diamond for the same price as a moissanite but how far that gap will be in 20-30 years will for sure be interesting

Moissanite is kinda high priced for what it really is. This is from my perspective as a seller of crystals and gems and a consumer of jewelry. However, I love a nicely cut high quality Moissanite stone. Looks great in jewelry. I would never buy diamond, because it’s a conflict stone and on top of that a flat out scam for consumers.

  • @SnowTiger45

Canada's production of Diamonds put a crimp in DaBeers Monopoly.
Diamonds are NOT Rare. Not even close. There tons of coloured gems that are Far More Rare and there isn't a monopoly on them unless it's something like Tanzanite that only comes from one spot on the entire planet. Coloured Stones are becoming more rare every day because mines run dry and/or miners have to keep digging deeper to find them.
Many people are turning to Coloured Gems in place of Diamonds for Wedding rings and other jewellery. And every coloured gemstone can come with it's own unique story. At least that's the case with the stones that I cut (facet). I actually prefer to cut gems with at least one inclusion in them. It helps show that it is natural and it is unique rather than "glass-like" and without flaws. I remind my clients that people are also unique and have their own flaws and therefore a faceted coloured gem with an inclusion can be more representative of that person who the stone ends up with.

Heres the thing. Diamonds are meant to be luxury and exclusive. If you cant afford it dont convince yourself or others that moissanite is better unless you genuinely like that stone. Most of you like moissanite because its a diamond simulant otherwise you wouldnt care for it. And yes you can tell the difference between moissanite and diamond. I own moissanite now after losing my iced cuban bracelet and stud earrings and you can tell.

Moissanite never came from SPACE, it was a marketing sales pitch.. 😱
Henri Moissan didn’t discover it, he simply stumbled upon “carborundum”, synthetic silicon carbide that was used to section off the meteoric fragment into smaller sections so he could dissolve into hydrofluoric acid.
      *Fun Facts
Henri Moissan’s original discovered crystals no longer exist! No other research has ever discovered silicon carbide of 6-H hexagonal crystals of the size that Henri Moissan wrote about in 1904 and 1905.
