Put side-by-side, very few people would be able to tell them apart. Moissanite is very clearly distinguishable from a diamond into both depth and brilliance when you get up close. Why would anyone go for a diamond if it was the same? It has certain features that make it desirable.
Hi ! I'm with you when you say that Tiffany is not going to sell Moissanites, but we could see brands such as Pandora or Swarovski starting a trend by switching CZ by Moissanites. I'm wondering why it's not the case yet... Hi from Europe, where no one knows about Moissanites ^^
I like it cause it's cheap and enhances an outfit just like diamonds which aren't worth what they charge. We just got it stuck in our heads that diamonds are somehow rare and valuable
I love them. They’re a great diamond substitute and way more affordable and if you pick certain cuts and colors of it, you can tone down the over the top sparkle. I’m partial to the natural yellow ones.
Moissanite, diamond, and all gemstones are not to resell. If anyone is planning to resell Moissanite, diamond, and all gemstones in the future, don't buy in the first place. Gold and silver resell can only be resell. Especially gold is #1 investment. All stones including diamonds are for fashion only not resell.
It's moreso because I like the way a diamond looks. If diamonds were cheap I'd still like the way they look and them being so hard. Also moissanite being from space is dope to me.
We dont wear Moissanite or Saphires to impress jewelers lol ... i stood next 2 an NFL player and my chain hit just as hard but cost 30k less but my truck & house is real
@@peteythajeweler902jewels thank you. I've been using my UV torch to look at diamond jewelry to see which stones glow and how much. Just for kicks. I started wondering if it might be a useful way to differentiate between the two, at least in separate groups.
I mean I get the whole marketing thing but also there is a draw to something that the earth created. Diamond isn’t a rare stone but to extract them from the earth is a very costly process bc it is in fact hard. Whether you like it or not. The value of a diamond is that it’s hard to get. We aren’t finding any new kimberlite deposits. 30 years down the line who knows what will happen.
Invest in gold and silver only that’s where the money is at. Now if you want a blinged out piece invest in moissanite at least you saved 1000s and look very good like diamonds 💎 now thats facts I will never ever buy another diamond as long as am living lol Moissanite for ever
Pretty soon diamonds prices will be forced to come down. Especially if the resell value is horrible. Ijs its safe to say moissanite is a real competitor atp
With all this being said watch companies like Bulova and Citizen start making factory set watches with Moissanites perhaps gold wrapped (not to be confused with plaited) watches similar to how Tudor make their watches and other budget friendly watch companies follow suit. I like moissanites because they literally look as premium as a diamond with similar properties and at a lower price without it being a “fake diamond”. I don’t plan on reselling my jewelry anyway.
harlembling stones arent glued on. One person disables the comments while the other doesn't, wonder why you are doing that? Almost like you know you are full of it. I have multiple prong-set pieces that ive taken for repairs, nothing is glued on.
Couple points i disagree with, not being a jeweler but someone who has done a lot of research and watch hours and hours of videos about both stones. (Biggest reason is I like to know exactly what I’m buying). But first I my self and I’m sure a lot other don’t just buy moissanite “because it looks like a diamond” especially the people who actually know the difference. There is multiple reason to pick and like moissanite over diamonds. And unless my research is wrong moissanite comes from space,no? So technically not rare because we make it, but extremely rare naturally. Again tell me if I’m wrong. Second 110% right about GRA 😂 Third I don’t really get what you mean about it being that hard to tell the difference, I agree 100% an everyday Joe won’t be able to. But after seeing the two in person plus knowing the key difference I’d say it’s not the hardest thing. Like you said moissanite have reflective index is higher, giving it more color to its shine than a diamond. And for diamonds when people are calling diamonds “watta” that’d because at least imo diamonds literally shine like water. Even through the multiple RUclips videos iv seen, when they are compared I can tell the difference. Just like in a decent Cubaknow vid, he compared the two. And before he even says anything I picked the diamond and say because it looks like water (in my head) 5 seconds later he repeats the same thing. Again don’t know if I’m tripping but I feel I can tell the difference. Forth you right, papers worth more than moissanite 100% Fifth Moissanite most likely will never best diamonds, the diamond business runs to deep. Even outside our country. Still good information brother. Again I’m no expert so make corrections where needed, again I love to learn And yes I 110% want moissanite to at least take over diamonds specifically, I hate seeing people get ripped off And last always buy Lab grown when possible 💪🏿🙏🏿❤️
I was in the jewelry biz for 30 years, if you can't tell the diff between moisanite and diamond your an incompetent jeweler. You can see the diff from ft away and it's super obvious with a loop. Dispersion is off the chart compare to diamond, and the facet junctions are rounded, it's also double refractive. In short, if you look at diamonds all day long a moissanite stands out like a sore thumb.
Personally I’ve bought both and the only upside to Moissanite is when people do the out of focus shine test only then will it have more colors but the way diamonds refract light is so different if you have a bright light Moissanite shines more because Moissanites sparkle comes from the light unlike diamonds which produce their own sparkle so in dim light diamond>Moissanite but it turns around in bright light
Your comment makes absolutely no sense based on the RI and dispersion values of both gems. Moissanite has a higher RI so it looks brighter in all conditions, higher RI means higher ray capture. Its like saying a 2 gallon bottle holds only 4 ounces at maximum capacity if its in the desert vs in a spring… no sense.
@@beartutor3377 no it makes complete sense there are different kinds of light play between the two. Take a Moissanite and a diamond and put them in the sun the Moissanite with have more dispersion and sparkle but if you bring them inside with the Moissanite will look almost like a white sapphire it will be all cloudy and almost looks like milk a diamond tho you will still see the cuts in the stone and it will look more clear that a Moissanite also refractive index isn’t how good a stone captures light it’s about how well a stone reflects light that is hitting it and dispersion is how well the stone acts as a prism and splits that light into visible colors. In order for Moissanite to gain its hallmark effects of its RI and Dispersion it has to be hit with direct light and I’ve found that it also has to be white light like a bright white led or sunlight diamonds will better split different colored light into the rainbows works best in orange led lights
I’ll tell ya bro while the GRA certification is bogus, Moissanite does have a variance in quality that should be noted. For instance some stones are really blue and less attractive. Moissanite will be the future, as they’re going to replace CZ. This means CZ will get lower in price and Moissanite will go up in price, but still with no resale value. Even so, large CZ stones are easy to achieve, while large Moissanite stones are not. Natural Diamond will forever be the standard for sure.
Hey brotha been following you for a while dope content I’m based out of Chicago and opening up a second location for a jewelry store and I want to start selling moissonites can you point me to a direction or whole sale me ? Thanks

Everyone is more informed thanks to the internet. We now know who the diamond assholes who Jack up the prices for not a rare stone AKA diamond. Wouldn't mind spending a decent amount of cash on a diamond but prices are falsely inflated. I guess I'll just spend my HARD-earned cash on a moissanite chain and go along with my day.
Look the fact is man didn't Create it they just found a way how to make it in a lab , Dimonds really don't have value either you would have have a really big Dimond to have resell value
Once I saw several people at night in 25 degree frost with flashlights looking for a fallen diamond earring in the snow. It was too cold. I didn't bother to see how the story ended. This is a tragedy for people and unfortunately this happens - there is no guarantee that this will not affect you. If it were moissanite it would simply not be pleasant. My wife lost her moissanite bracelet. If it had been a diamond, we probably would have had to call an ambulance. It is possible to distinguish moissanite from diamond. When shined, moissanite will sparkle with bright flashes of color. The diamond will be dominated by contrasting flashes of white and black with rare additions of color. Moissanite appears more cloudy due to double refraction of the rays and does not have the sharpness and clarity that is characteristic of diamonds.
Exactly the same concept applies to diamonds. Not "rare", never have been. The DeBeers monopoly and perception manipulation brainwashing (propaganda) advertising campaigns are really the only thing that make people think they are valuable. Neither stone has any inherent value.
Unless its your wifes wedding ring cause that goes without saying but anything else if you still buying diamonds you need to slap yourself. Stop worrying about what people think and stay in your lane/budget. Oh and your favorite rappers are wearing moissanite 🤷🏾♂️
Buy a vvs1 moissanite for $100 and get $0 back in return trying to resale. You have lost $100. Buy a vvs1 diamond for $10,000 and get (maybe) 30% trying to resale. You have lost $7000. Which is to your advantage ? In the meantime, no one but an experienced jeweler can tell the difference between the two stones.
This video making me want moissanites even more lol diamonds don’t have value either only gold has value and I only liked jewels for the shine anyways lol
Diamonds are worth NOTHING! Why? Go take your 2,3,4,karat diamond jewelry to pawnshops and watch what those SOBs will pay you for it! NOTHING! The pawnshops will throw the jewelry on a weight scale and they'll tell you we ONLY pay for the weight of the gold or silver! You are basically giving them your high priced diamonds for FREE!
lol in the same video he says people selling a lot of moissanite and then continues to say there is no demands. Bahaha I wear a moissanite pendant on my solid 10k Cuban and with my 14k rope chain. Haven’t had one person think it was moissanite.
Hey Gus! Can you please review a chain from Ice London? They have some really gorgeous moissanite cuban link chains of different types and they look so heavy and well built. I would love to see your review of it.
You probably think moissanite looks better because you can't afford a real diamond or don't want to invest in one. But honestly, if you were someone like Kate Middleton, would you really wear moissanite? No offense, but you need to be honest with yourselves. Yes, moissanite can be pretty, but put a 13-carat moissanite next to a 13-carat diamond and you'll see the difference. Moissanite looks candy-like, and its sparkle isn't as natural. once you see it, you will never be able to un see it. I totally get the arguments about ethically sourcing diamonds, but the reality is what comes out of the earth 🌎 will always be superior. You might think more sparkle is better because you've never seen a real, large diamond. That's a bit amusing to someone with family in the jewelry industry. It's fine if you’re happy with your moissanite ring, but remember, the marketing for moissanite is strong. You might be convincing yourself it's better as a sort of defense mechanism, but you need to know that it's just not the same as a natural diamond. Again, buy, moissanite… I have a friend who wears moissanite and she doesn’t know that I know that it’s moissanite. The comments about well I wore it and no one knew… believe me, any at least minimally, educated person on diamonds will be able to spot that. People resist the urge to offend, though…

I love them. They’re a great diamond substitute and way more affordable and if you pick certain cuts and colors of it, you can tone down the over the top sparkle. I’m partial to the natural yellow ones.
I wonder if you may have some color blindness, moissanite has a double refraction pattern that can be easily seen in certain cuts.
Why haven't you done a review on harlem bling yet?
PSA telling Moissanite apart from Diamond is dead easy. Moissanite has fire, Diamond doesn’t (fire is rainbow colors).
Not it’s not, not to an untrained eye.
That's not fully accurate. A well cut diamond does indeed display fire, just not at the same rate.
GRA is good if you forget the specs of your moissanite
Its pointless...like rating fake jordans
I wanted to see moissanite versions of ruby, emerald, and sapphire stones.
DIAMOND IS A GEMSTONE
Moissanite, diamond, and all gemstones are not to resell. If anyone is planning to resell Moissanite, diamond, and all gemstones in the future, don't buy in the first place. Gold and silver resell can only be resell. Especially gold is #1 investment. All stones including diamonds are for fashion only not resell.
Bottom line, it has no resale value.
honest question out of curiousity: durability wise, how do they compare to diamonds?
Moissanite is 9.25 to 9.5 on hardness scale. Diamond is 10.
That Jordan shoe cut was funny😂
Moissanite I love how the light bounces off it
same most ppl try to act like it makes it look fake they just look like really clean and high quality diamonds lolllll
It definitely shines a lot better. Easy to tell the difference between diamonds and moissanite
Marketing is going to make sure diamonds are ALWAYS profitable, but “alternatives” will always be popular
Fact : it's not a dimaond that's why it's called mossatine lmao😂 an has a different structure so yes it's completely different
Moissanite for the win Diamonds are a waste of money gold and silver is the real investment
I don't like Moisanite, and yes, I can tell the difference.
Moissanite shines and more brilliant
Basically, he’s saying is, buy Gold. And he’s right. Now there’s value.
Dude Lyin lmfaooo
Hes wrong on almost every myth he tried to " Debunk " lol
Question: Do moissanites glow under UV the way some diamonds do?
As of now lab moissanite doesn't have any fluorescence
@@peteythajeweler902jewels thank you. I've been using my UV torch to look at diamond jewelry to see which stones glow and how much. Just for kicks. I started wondering if it might be a useful way to differentiate between the two, at least in separate groups.
Yes. Some do. But they will glow green, not like how diamonds do/might
I mean I get the whole marketing thing but also there is a draw to something that the earth created. Diamond isn’t a rare stone but to extract them from the earth is a very costly process bc it is in fact hard. Whether you like it or not. The value of a diamond is that it’s hard to get. We aren’t finding any new kimberlite deposits. 30 years down the line who knows what will happen.
Or you can just make it in a lab - it's not so hard to get.
Thanks Gus ❤❤❤❤ I don’t know why the jeweler is doing this 😢😢😢😢
Everything he said was cap 🤣 he blowing smoke just like every dude in Miami
I love moissanite, and I own moissanite rings. I also like lab-grown diamonds, but I will never buy natural diamonds again.
Invest in gold and silver only that’s where the money is at. Now if you want a blinged out piece invest in moissanite at least you saved 1000s and look very good like diamonds 💎 now thats facts I will never ever buy another diamond as long as am living lol Moissanite for ever
gold and silver only that’s where the money is at ?.............. Right ! LOL
Pretty soon diamonds prices will be forced to come down. Especially if the resell value is horrible. Ijs its safe to say moissanite is a real competitor atp
I watched a video just today about a diamond cutter. He told the video maker that he's already losing money.
Second 110% right about GRA 😂
Third I don’t really get what you mean about it being that hard to tell the difference, I agree 100% an everyday Joe won’t be able to.
Forth you right, papers worth more than moissanite 100%
Fifth Moissanite most likely will never best diamonds, the diamond business runs to deep. Even outside our country.
Still good information brother. Again I’m no expert so make corrections where needed, again I love to learn
And yes I 110% want moissanite to at least take over diamonds specifically, I hate seeing people get ripped off
And last always buy Lab grown when possible 💪🏿🙏🏿❤️
Are there any legit jewelers/retailers that sell moissanite jewelry out there?
A earth mined diamond don't have resale value the only value is the metal that's holding that diamond
Hey brotha been following you for a while dope content I’m based out of Chicago and opening up a second location for a jewelry store and I want to start selling moissonites can you point me to a direction or whole sale me ? Thanks
i still love moissanite.. regardless buddy!! don't be mad moissanite is selling more than your diamonds.. oh yh HarlemBling make more money than you selling moissanite 😂😂😂
I love moissanites and I agree with Gus. It’s the truth
Inthink gem stones are all a waste of money. Just to be fair regarding lab grown but they heat treat gem stones. Abd to your point about GRA. you know that
Gia grades lab grown diamonds too rigjt ?
Everyone is more informed thanks to the internet. We now know who the diamond assholes who Jack up the prices for not a rare stone AKA diamond. Wouldn't mind spending a decent amount of cash on a diamond but prices are falsely inflated. I guess I'll just spend my HARD-earned cash on a moissanite chain and go along with my day.
Let me see them Jordans, WHAT the Hellllllllllllllllll!!!!!! PRICELESS!
At least he's wearing shoes.
I love, love, love my moissanite jewelry. I have a lovely diamond, but I prefer my moissanite pieces. Diamonds are a giant rip off.
Question : how many grams should a 12mm Cuban link chain at 22” 10k weigh?
I buy my wife diamonds, but as for me, I wear Moissanites
Simp
😅@@timetravel099
Look the fact is man didn't Create it they just found a way how to make it in a lab , Dimonds really don't have value either you would have have a really big Dimond to have resell value
I’m laughing at everyone taking it personal.
Herkimer Diamonds + Moissanite. Awesome
Moissanite appears more cloudy due to double refraction of the rays and does not have the sharpness and clarity that is characteristic of diamonds.
trying to be a diamond not its own stone gem what is he hating on this gem
Whatever the name of the stone: it is worthless. Like you said, big propaganda.
Try an sell the moisssanite chain back an see how much they tell u it’s worth
Buy a vvs1 moissanite for $100 and get $0 back in return trying to resale. You have lost $100. Buy a vvs1 diamond for $10,000 and get (maybe) 30% trying to resale. You have lost $7000. Which is to your advantage ? In the meantime, no one but an experienced jeweler can tell the difference between the two stones.
@@ralphbryant4575 advanced jeweler? Just shine your iPhone light and you can tell the difference lmao
Moissanite is better period.
Could i sale huge green columbian emerald?😊
Diamant ist Mosanit-Imitat 🤫
This video contradicts the video you posted just 6 months ago Everything you said in that video you say the opposite in this one 🤣
I wouldn’t categorize a ruby as being a color how tf is it a color, it has a red color to it but the ruby doesn’t just become the color red. 😂😂
Ruby literally is a color. Red corundum crystals are what we call ruby.
Diamonds are not rare everyone has one.
Gold and silver are more valuable
