@@LostParadise_ still want to see a vr tank game where people play every role (except for the loader, nobody wants to play a loader). Atmospheric to the max . From a game design perspective, it probably wouldn’t work as a pvp game and you would have to take some liberties with what the commander can do, but it would be quite fun.
Small correction: the TC saying “doubtful” is a type of sensing. Look up the acronym DLOST. He’s telling the gunner where his round landed relative to the target. If the round impact isn’t observable, “doubtful” is used. “Target” would be an observed hit, and then a subsequent command of “reengage” or “ceasefire” would determine what the gunner does next. Great video, love this game so much.
I was about to say that as more or less a layman I took issue with "doubtful" being used in the sense that Spook claims it is used in really meaning what he says it means. I'm also curious... is the callout "ceasefire" when a unit is knocked out always 100% accurate in the game? I would imagine that, sometimes, this won't be accurate. A vehicle could be prematurely ID'd as done for when, seconds or minutes later, it starts moving again, to everyone's horror.
Correction to this, you're referring to the "Lost" part of DLOST. "Doubtful" means the round missed the target to the left or right, "Lost" is used when the commander doesn't observe the impact.
The one I hated was short. You just couldnt be sure. Best to put another in. In WW2 my uncle, a tanker, said they would pass old wrecked German tanks with dozens of holes from guys "being sure."
I always thought that when the TC saying "doubtful" that either the shot missed/lost of trace from the TC. Or that the shot hit the target, but the TC is unsure if it did anything. Like disable the tank, or when straight through
Playing war thunder, you kinda just point at enemies and feel happy when you get a kill, and annoyed when you get killed. A game like this really makes you realize how terrifying it is to be in real tank combat, when you miss a shot and can die any second while staring at the enemy's tank barrel pointing straight towards you. Incredible work
thats what i felt being in a M60A3 against a fucking T71M couldnt do shit against that mofo unless i got its sides even then it wouldnt kill him to this day i havent been able to finish that mission everytime he landed a shell on me it was a 1 shot and rarely he missed but broke one of my tracks and then 1 shoted, the problem is u have to deal with 1 ATGM camping and several t55A that are stationated a little bit far away i dont think anyone has succeded that mission ever
You can also feel that in War thunder sometimes when you're dueling an enemy tank with both of you in the open. Even better when both tanks have to aim for weakspots. The dread of seeing your shell bounce and having to hope the enemy also misses their shot.
The voices are just as illegible as they should be. My absolute favourite during the maneouvers is, when someone gets excited/stressed enough to drop radio discipline and starts screaming casually, in long sentences, into the mike. Thing is, you don't scream, you talk laconic, and you use radio voice, punctuating words separately. I'm on Sordin Supreme CC and even they don't manage well with excited screaming.
Hearing an actual "A.D.D.R.A.C." in a game is pretty cool. Really detailed in the sound department, hope the game does well. The acronym stands for Alert, Direction, Description, Range, Assignment, Control.
We're playing a dedicated tank crew in Post Scriptum and i'm guessing that's as realistic as it gets since it's us who are panicked screaming when a tank is spotted and is looking at us. Especially if we are in a long range duel, commander screams "Hit again, AGAIN!", or things like; "NO NO HIT THE TURRET YOU ARE BOUNCING" especially if you come across a Tiger in an Armored car.. i am the driver and i feel my hands shaking in some situations. Trying to avoid the fire, listening to commanders screams "DRIVE DRIVE HE'S LOOKING AT US" and when you get a kill shot we're like "HELL YEAAAH"
I had a moment like this in Squad as a crew of a Bradley, having one guy as Commander, one Gunner then, me as Driver. Listening out for the commanders orders, executing them and acting as a Secondary Spotter, screaming whenever enemy infantry got close to us or a tank/apc was able to sneak up to us. We somehow managed to survive an entire round without losing the Bradley once meanwhile repeatedly killing the enemy armour and light vics from Ambush cause we were able to position and spot well. But the moments where we would be repositioning and caught out by enemy AT was exhilerating, especially jumping out as the Driver to repair the broken track so we can get moving again meanwhile the Gunner is letting lose with the Bushmaster and the Commander hoped out to provide cover.
Hell Let Loose Be part of the crew in a teeny tiny Panzer 2 Luchs. I was the gunner and had to fire by guidance of the commander, as the foliage we used to hide in was tall enough to choke my viewports with muddy greenery. It got really tense when we saw bazooka teams move up on us, or if a tank was driving in our vicinity We could only deal with the infantry, and run from tanks. Best round i ever had, and best crew as a whole i ever had
@@wilddenbigh Oh yeah. A tank is extremely vulnerable to infantry. I had no idea up until i played PS. Whenever you are within infantry's 100 ish meters, your life expectancy is somewhere in the ballpark of 10-15 seconds, IF you are lucky.
for added realism, get your whole team to use throat mic (they are a kind of mic you wear around your neck, they have usually bad sound quality but are much less influenced by outside sounds that you would have in a tank)
They plan on adding more, looking through the audio files, and once they get a gore system in, they plan on having the crew saying stuff like "Jesus Christ..." or "fuuuuck me..." when they see a grizzly scene of mangled bodies. Showing humanity.
The voice acting in GHPC and its implementation are great Kinda reminds me of the lines from squads in Company of Heroes, which has lots of lines that change depending on the situation so if you select a MG42 while it's idle, you'll hear something like "Machine gun squad" or "MG42 is ready" but then as it keeps fighting the lines get more stressed, until all you hear when you select it is "Fourtytwo!"
Some of the tanks from the sequel get the same treatment They say their full designation while calm, but cut it down to less than a second and mostly yell at YOU if stressed (I.E. combat) "Churchill Crocodile reporting in" "What, WHAT WHAT?"
I heard some simmilar things happen in other rts game (forgot the name) , when you close in the camera to a certain unit you could hear them talking about the mission, OR the act you do, for example if i told them to attack and they succeed they gonna say something like "the CO know what his UpTo" or "damn all hail liuentenant *protag name* " and so on ,but if you lose so much unit they started gossiping you and kinda lose Faith in you "what the hell does lieuntenant thinking?!" "Effing ruskies kicking our a$$ " , sometimes they Made a comment about the mission itself , like when you get the objective to hold certain area from enemy waves with a limited unit you could hear them screaming in eager and couraging each other
@@alahsiaboi8909 reminds me of World in Conflict or that's probably the game you are referring to as they also do the same when you zoom in on idle or in combat units.
@@alahsiaboi8909 Homeworld did that too; if you zoomed into the ships you could hear the crew talking talking within the ship/squadron on the intercom. Although in those games the voice acting was always very calm and professional.
I'm pretty sure the reason in War Thunder whenever a member is hit the announcer refers to them as "knocked out" "unconscious" or "dazed" is because they're trying to keep it below a certain rating. Technically no one dies in War Thunder. Even when you kill an enemy pilot it only refers to them as "unconscious". So if people actually died it would be a bit higher rating and it they might lose some of their market.
Pretty much. Too many "violent" or "adult" things will push the rating to mature, which isn't so much a restriction on the playerbase (because people lie about their ages on the internet all the time) but on the snail's marketing strategies.
@@Zorro9129 But its a small stupid thing. There's no need for gore or bodies or references thereof, even though some of the aircrew voice tracks are pretty close ("My leg!" " I'm burningggggg...." etc.)
The crews voices and their ability to change tone depending on the situation, really makes it feel like they’re alive and there with you. It really changes the standard gaming mentality of “I want to stay alive” to “I have to keep us alive”
Yeah it bugs me too. Most tank games seem to forget that the inside of a tank, whether in combat or not, is _really fucking loud._ It's a nice touch that it's not just the "short and sweet" that you'd actually hear but that they are yelling to make themselves heard even with the aid of the intercom.
In arma 3 I play a full militarized exile pve mod and with the roaming AI independent turret systems are crucial because enemy rhino tank destroyers will investigate extremely loud cannons, they were driving up the hill to my base with a squad running along side while I was checking out the effect my mortar had on an area, I was watching them move up the hill and decided I should work on adding concrete walls sometime lol
No sh*t. I was in the M1A1 HA in Desert Shield/Storm. When you are moving and that main gun fires over your head you feel it and the whole tank rocks back...
Former APC crewman here. Even with intercom, it's FUCKING LOUD and without intercom you can't hear the person next to you unless he's literally screaming in your ear.
I remember seeing a comment of an ex US Abrams loader in a video that showcased this and he said something like: "You better not fucking shoot before I say "up", cuz I dont feel like loosing a hand." 🤣🤣
my favorite line is when you hit an enemy but don't kill it and one of your crew mates goes "AGAIN AGAIN AGAIN AGAIN", that shit always gives me goosebumps
The commands sound good, I served on a m1a2 Abrams for a few years. Some things I seen from the vid the made me question one command "gunner heat tank" that would pretty much never happen unless you're out of sabot. Or I'd see he had to lead with the cross hair which also never happened since the LRF would laze it then keep it's distance and so instead of leading a target moving at something going 20mph you just keep aiming center mass and the ballistic computer would do the rest and if you're bore sighted with your gun correctly you should hit exactly dead on. Other than that great video
For the leading issue, that is actually modeled in the game. Just as in real life though it has to be toggled. In the clip it probably just wasn’t set but the game 100% does have that feature implemented.
Yeah the doctrine command would be "Fire, Fire Sabot and adjust" also the lead feature was on the original M1 and the A1s, it wasn't until the A2 when we slapped more shit into the FCS that accounted for lead and cant.
Also, the TC does call "Fire, fire sabot" to swap rounds if you don't fire before the call is made. I'm not sure if they used fire and adjust in the 80s, though.
It's worth noting that in reality, if two opposing tanks meet in the battlefield, both are in tremendous amount of stress while firing with one another and GHPC capture this panicked situation inside the tank.
I remember reading from a WW2 account is that while there is, for some people, excitement or thrill of combat and people can often be proud of their performance after fact, in the moment nobody wants to be in the thing and the last thing you wanted to see as a tank commander is another enemy tank. Doesn't matter what make or model, the moment you see an enemy tank every second is vital and a mistake will kill you. Hard to imagine.
its not hard for me to ignore a games sound design for parts that dont matter, but games that excel at using it to show the intensity of a situation of the stress of a person are few but beloved. my notable mentions for that are insurgency sandstorm and escape from tarkov, even though i dont play the latter anymore. one of the death sounds the scavs used to make really stuck in a bad way...
I'm here talking from the Blitz side of WoT. We got a new British commander voice, god, is so good. The Brit commander saying everything quick and to the point, compared to the older American commander, he's... Dramatic to say the least. "That must've hit hard!" = Barely damaged the tracks. While the British commander says: "Hit!" "Target destroyed!" Etc. It's clearly nowhere near as fast or adaptive as Gunner Heat PC, but it sound so much better.
If WarThunder were to update their crew sound it would literally be "LOADER RELOAD! FAST! FAST! FAST!" Yea....Doesn't feel good when your loader gets killed after being replaced by another guy huh.
Post Scriptum counts, albeit multiplayer. Check out Vade's videos for a tank crew that knows what they're doing. Otherwise, you're more likely to be stuck with a squad without an experienced commander, who really is the most essential person.
yeah it's immersive with it visible interior view and if crew men are dead you get to see their lifeless or headless body and the animation when you switch seats man those were the days~
@@Zorro9129 My first game as a tank commander I had no idea what I was doing and I was "Manhandling" Callouts but luckily My crew and I managed to get I think four Vehicle kills and one Gun kill. In all seriousness I still had no Idea what I was doing besides not getting My crew killed, tank destroyed, and just killing enemies.
Another good example is the interior tank scenes for Captain Bannon in World in Conflict. They follow a similar formula to GHPC with the crew communicating to eachother, the gunner announcing his engagement with "on the way" the the muffled thud of the cannon being fired
Been a Patreon since before AI was introduced and i must say, the progress that ActionScripter and the team that came into the project made since then is simply incredible.
I think the reason War Thunder and the like's voices aren't this realistic is that it creates confronting gameplay. Being screamed at by your crew would turn a lot of people off, so they're toned down, more relaxed. As much as I do think it's really cool GHPC is going that extra step, I can fully understand why more unrealistic games like War Thunder (yes, even in RB or sim it's not that realistic) haven't opted to go down this route. GHPC is shaping up to succeed in its goal, which is great. I'm quite keen to see how it progresses, and see how they'll implement multiplayer.
it reminds me of when me and my friends play tank games (ones with multi person tanks aka 3 people to a tank) and when i just spot a enemy RPG tank etc ill be like "ENEMY RPG 110 HURRY UP ITS AIMING RIGHT AT US" or other times where i just see a tank looking at me and im like all studdering because of how panicy it is.
@@FirstDagger dcs aint have good tank Il2 is ww2 only and aint gonna waste 60 euro for main game and 60 euro for tank dlc rather pick steel beast at that point
War Thunder could replace the voice lines, ya know. I say have actual tankers record 10-15 lines for each action, and make sure its loud and to the point. That may, your loader won't say the same line the same way all day long. And for tanks that never had built in crew coms, make them scream it, along with some echo. And make it so every crew member has a different voice actor. Maybe add period correct VAs for different era of tanks.
Imagine how hectic being in a B-17 over Germany would be. 109s and 190s zipping around everywhere, maybe a couple 262s if you're really unlucky, your pilots trying to keep steady, gunners desperate to knock down the attacking planes, and seeing other bombers getting engulfed in flames as they fall.
@@theguylivinginyourwalls I’d love something like that. Also I’d a b-17 multicrew multiplayer version, akin to how the new IL:2 works. Big hurdle on that would be flight time to target, idk how a server could handle something like time compression between…(is it 11 in a B-17 crew) a bunch of different clients . It works in il2 because the airbases are all just behind the frontlines so you can get to the target in a reasonable time, and oppsing fighters have to scramble so the action can happen relatively quick.
The voices depending on the context remind me a loooot Insurgency Sandstorm, a multi-player tactical FPS, that is awesome by its gameplay, but also by his song effects. As GHPC, your character (your soldier) have a lot of lines depending on what is happening on the battlefield, in front of him, and that is so immersive, at a point that it gave me chills sometimes, it looks like something about a game... (I will alaways remember the first time an Allie get killed in front of me by a sniper, and my character just screamed "SNIPEEEER" with an anxious voice, it was really immersive)
All of the attention to detail that makes the soundscape feel more visceral and immersive *really* pays off from what I've heard so far, it's awesome and reminds me of the sound design for Armored Warfare which was pretty solid in my opinion. I agree that good sound design in games is still often neglected by developers and underrated by consumers, it baffles me. This video has me wishing the sound design team for Elite: Dangerous would work on War Thunder so we can FINALLY get a good audible experience out of it.
"There's no real sense of urgency in their voices." Have you heard that one version of the repairing radio transmission where the guy has what sounds like a voice crack?
I want a VR tank combat game where every position is filled by a individual. Imagine how badass that would be, like 2 tanks vs 2 tanks but every crew slot is filled with a individual person. Even if it was very arcadey and simplified it would be so much fun.
This was - and still is - the only thing I've subbed to on Patreon. The passion for tank warfare the devs have shown is obvious and I am more than happy to support them adding more content to the game.

Fire and adjust means to fire and continue to fire at the same target unless cease fire is given. The gunner would already be scanning before the fire command is given.
this game shows exactly how immersive sounds and sound design can be. As shown in the video, the graphics arent really that great, but you can see (or hear) the great things. That is also what alot of older games used, providing amazing storytelling and sfx to ballance out the low quality textures. I really hope this game gets the recognition it deserves.
The combined panic of the crew and the muffled sounds of the exterior with the clanks of the interior, really sells the reality you're in a cramped shell with other people who all have to work together in unison to face off other tanks that can blow you to bits.
One of the few good voicelines in warthunder can be heard if you call artillery on yourself. They either scream "TARGET MY LOCATION" or "Requesting barrage on me, repeat, requesting barrage on me"
BDU-era Bradley gunner here; everything from the manual range adjustments to the red/black thermals to the sound design brings me right back. All it's missing is the hand cramps, the Bradley bites, and the smell of fart-soaked rubberized canvas and diesel smoke.
I coded a game much like this but didn't release it, and I really love the attention to detail here. I only had world of tanks crew voices to work with for hit effects but it got pretty contextual and it was a lot of work but eventually I had crew members in 7 languages yelling at me about reloads, hits, bounces, crew losses and vehicles states; but never with the modulating intensity with how close an enemy is to shooting you; that was an amazing touch and the driver comments go above and beyond. I'm happy to see something akin to my old passion project done even better, albiet with a few less swarms of alien monsters and rts elements. oh, what I would give to see the concept of cold war era mechanized warfare directed against an apocalyptic invasion of car sized, city devouring alien flesh monsters ;_; it's oddly specific but every time I see a game like this I imagine how fun it would play to gun down hordes of horrific creatures with a well coordinated mechanized platoon, in a hybrid of tank sim and real time strategy. with that sound design? it would be a horrifying and exhilarating spectacle.
I can affirm that this is 100% on point, I am a gunner for my crew on the M1A2 SEPv2 tank nicknamed "ANABOLIC" All commands are usually said in this type of manner, with the use of the CITV the TC can designate a target for the gunner if they spot before. Command said something along the lines of, "Designate, (Target- PC, Tank, Troops)" then following "(Target- PC, Tank, Troops) identified, range (range)" and the game quite literally matches that.
Been seeing all sorts of clips from this game on some videos but only now do I get a name. Thank you for bringing more attention to it, sounds like its going to blow up :)

“Target” would be an observed hit, and then a subsequent command of “reengage” or “ceasefire” would determine what the gunner does next.

I was about to say that as more or less a layman I took issue with "doubtful" being used in the sense that Spook claims it is used in really meaning what he says it means.
Incredible work
Absolutely, GHPC makes warthunder look like elderly people playing with rc model kits
thats what i felt being in a M60A3 against a fucking T71M
couldnt do shit against that mofo unless i got its sides
even then it wouldnt kill him
to this day i havent been able to finish that mission
everytime he landed a shell on me it was a 1 shot and rarely he missed but broke one of my tracks and then 1 shoted, the problem is u have to deal with 1 ATGM camping and several t55A that are stationated a little bit far away
i dont think anyone has succeded that mission ever
That's war thunder as well...
You still feel awesome when you get a kill, though.
Trying to avoid the fire, listening to commanders screams "DRIVE DRIVE HE'S LOOKING AT US"
and when you get a kill shot we're like "HELL YEAAAH"
Hell Let Loose
Be part of the crew in a teeny tiny Panzer 2 Luchs.
I was the gunner and had to fire by guidance of the commander, as the foliage we used to hide in was tall enough to choke my viewports with muddy greenery.
It got really tense when we saw bazooka teams move up on us, or if a tank was driving in our vicinity
We could only deal with the infantry, and run from tanks.
Best round i ever had, and best crew as a whole i ever had
@@wilddenbigh Oh yeah.
A tank is extremely vulnerable to infantry. I had no idea up until i played PS. Whenever you are within infantry's 100 ish meters, your life expectancy is somewhere in the ballpark of 10-15 seconds, IF you are lucky.
ahhh this brings back memories of being TC with my mates in Red Orchestra 2, the panicked screams when an enemy tank looks at us XD
for added realism, get your whole team to use throat mic (they are a kind of mic you wear around your neck, they have usually bad sound quality but are much less influenced by outside sounds that you would have in a tank)
that detail of the voicelines getting more hectic when the enemy is looking at you is so good
The driver saying “he’s looking at us” spooked me quite abit, I’ve heard the other lines before but that one takes the cake
They plan on adding more, looking through the audio files, and once they get a gore system in, they plan on having the crew saying stuff like "Jesus Christ..." or "fuuuuck me..." when they see a grizzly scene of mangled bodies. Showing humanity.
"The sounds are always weak" Hence why we have sounds mods.
*laughs in Thunder Crew v6.0*

Someone just put Armored warfare crew voice and it is so much improved over original warthunder.
At least all the Direct Hit sounds are eargasm
@@randommanchild112 yea they great
The voice acting in GHPC and its implementation are great
Kinda reminds me of the lines from squads in Company of Heroes,
which has lots of lines that change depending on the situation
so if you select a MG42 while it's idle, you'll hear something like
"Machine gun squad" or "MG42 is ready"
but then as it keeps fighting the lines get more stressed,
until all you hear when you select it is "Fourtytwo!"
Some of the tanks from the sequel get the same treatment
They say their full designation while calm, but cut it down to less than a second and mostly yell at YOU if stressed (I.E. combat)
"Churchill Crocodile reporting in"
"What, WHAT WHAT?"
@@NixodCreations Which makes sense air and ship combat has alot more that can go wrong if you panic and is also slower than ground combat.
@@flashtirade It's pretty stupid though. Even kids playing the game know what's up and will say they "killed" the enemy.
@@Zorro9129 But its a small stupid thing. There's no need for gore or bodies or references thereof, even though some of the aircrew voice tracks are pretty close ("My leg!" " I'm burningggggg...." etc.)

"Enemy crew is taking a nap!"
China is the main reason behind it. Without this kind off censorship/tone down it would receive massive penalties in China or even be banned.
I should add that keeping vehicles off and ears open will vastly improve your survival

Being an M1A1 Crewman, this was an amazing effort by the dev team to make it authentic as possible, crew commands are on point.
what role do you usually do?
my favorite line is when you hit an enemy but don't kill it and one of your crew mates goes "AGAIN AGAIN AGAIN AGAIN", that shit always gives me goosebumps
"UUP". Great day to see another spookston upload.
The tank had HEAT loaded, which is the only reason why gunner, heat, tank was used. Right as he was about to fire, Sabot was queued to be loaded.
@@AliceDerg I gotcha I missed that thank you, I guess when in doubt dump the round out
For the leading issue, that is actually modeled in the game.
2 years since I'm getting teased about GH:PC, I saw him grew that's crazy
A moment of silence for the loader's hands at 1:02 as Spookston the cruel fires before he says up.
I think the dev should add an easter egg voice line for the loader going like "Argh! MY F-ING HAND!" if you shoot before he says up
@@Danspy501st another one to add to that "HOLY FUCK! FUCK YOU DIPSHIT!"
When the TC shouts "Again Again Again Again!!" really frantically, they did a great job on the voices.
Would love it if this is what war thunder comms sounded like
It's worth noting that in reality, if two opposing tanks meet in the battlefield, both are in tremendous amount of stress while firing with one another and GHPC capture this panicked situation inside the tank.
I love the crew lines in ghpc! It’s so much better than “the radio operator gunner is unconscious “
its not hard for me to ignore a games sound design for parts that dont matter, but games that excel at using it to show the intensity of a situation of the stress of a person are few but beloved. my notable mentions for that are insurgency sandstorm and escape from tarkov, even though i dont play the latter anymore. one of the death sounds the scavs used to make really stuck in a bad way...
is it the extended scream and subsequent wailing? it gets us all, man.
If you like sound design, and WW2, give Post Scriptum a go !
@@ronduptor I love PS, but the community is dwindling and until that armor rework/ any new content at all is released, it'll likely stay that course.

We got a new British commander voice, god, is so good.
The Brit commander saying everything quick and to the point, compared to the older American commander, he's... Dramatic to say the least.
"That must've hit hard!" = Barely damaged the tracks.
While the British commander says:
"Hit!"
"Target destroyed!"
Etc.
It's clearly nowhere near as fast or adaptive as Gunner Heat PC, but it sound so much better.
I swear these voicelines were so intense and immersive I actually felt scared, stressed and panicked. Awesome job.

They're updated crew sound but... It doesn't sound as cool as GHPC crew
@flying_fox_117 this comment did not age well and the crew sound I only give 1 out of 10
Red Orchestra 2 was a fun “tank simulator”
Hope there will be another tank sim like this one but in WWII
Post Scriptum counts, albeit multiplayer. Check out Vade's videos for a tank crew that knows what they're doing. Otherwise, you're more likely to be stuck with a squad without an experienced commander, who really is the most essential person.
yeah it's immersive with it visible interior view and if crew men are dead you get to see their lifeless or headless body and the animation when you switch seats man those were the days~

Another good example is the interior tank scenes for Captain Bannon in World in Conflict. They follow a similar formula to GHPC with the crew communicating to eachother, the gunner announcing his engagement with "on the way" the the muffled thud of the cannon being fired

It still amazes me WT has the same voice lines like 7 years later

Be really cool if they made a plane game as well, they’d do good on it
Imagine how hectic being in a B-17 over Germany would be.

Are you gonna do a video about il2's tanks?
The voices depending on the context remind me a loooot Insurgency Sandstorm, a multi-player tactical FPS, that is awesome by its gameplay, but also by his song effects. As GHPC, your character (your soldier) have a lot of lines depending on what is happening on the battlefield, in front of him, and that is so immersive, at a point that it gave me chills sometimes, it looks like something about a game...
(I will alaways remember the first time an Allie get killed in front of me by a sniper, and my character just screamed "SNIPEEEER" with an anxious voice, it was really immersive)
The fucking gunner heat PC crew voices *are so stressful!* the panicked callouts always get to me, they did almost too good a job lol
I love their commands. The voice actors did a great job.
"the radio operator gunner, he's knocked out" the commander said calmly
All of the attention to detail that makes the soundscape feel more visceral and immersive *really* pays off from what I've heard so far, it's awesome and reminds me of the sound design for Armored Warfare which was pretty solid in my opinion. I agree that good sound design in games is still often neglected by developers and underrated by consumers, it baffles me. This video has me wishing the sound design team for Elite: Dangerous would work on War Thunder so we can FINALLY get a good audible experience out of it.
Just imagine if war thunder added those crew voices in all the vehicles from all the nations... Excellent job GHPC

Truly an amazing game. I'm subed to their patreon just cuz I want to see what the game will look like when done
The combined panic of the crew and the muffled sounds of the exterior with the clanks of the interior, really sells the reality you're in a cramped shell with other people who all have to work together in unison to face off other tanks that can blow you to bits.
Damn, this is AWESOME
One of the few good voicelines in warthunder can be heard if you call artillery on yourself. They either scream "TARGET MY LOCATION" or "Requesting barrage on me, repeat, requesting barrage on me"
"Gunner sabot TAAAAAAAANNNKKK!!"
BDU-era Bradley gunner here; everything from the manual range adjustments to the red/black thermals to the sound design brings me right back. All it's missing is the hand cramps, the Bradley bites, and the smell of fart-soaked rubberized canvas and diesel smoke.
it war thunder you dont need ppl screaming in your tank, because you are already screaming out of rage.
❤️
I can affirm that this is 100% on point, I am a gunner for my crew on the M1A2 SEPv2 tank nicknamed "ANABOLIC" All commands are usually said in this type of manner, with the use of the CITV the TC can designate a target for the gunner if they spot before. Command said something along the lines of, "Designate, (Target- PC, Tank, Troops)" then following "(Target- PC, Tank, Troops) identified, range (range)" and the game quite literally matches that.
That gun sound was great. The only time i remember hearing something that came even close to that in War Thunder was when i used the T34.
