Most German War Thunder players care about heavier vehicles like the Tiger and Panther, but I'm more interested in their Cold War offerings like the DF105 light tank. It is good enough to pretty consistently get nukes.

Let this video be a reminder that france has yet to get the AMX 13 105. Literally take the AMX 13 90 hull and slap the DF105 turret on it and boom. But alas, no matter how easy something is. Gaijin doesn't want to do it, I guess.

IRL they are trained on it and don't drive like geriatric bosnian grandmas put in a tank with chinese labels on all switches.
IRL, novice tankers move up in ranks, and along with it their position. the lowest rank of a 19k officer would be positioned in Driver position first. Climbing his rank also meant that he switches his station - from driver, then to loader, then to gunner, then finaly to TC. TC would have the best mechanical experience comapred to their other crew members onboard the said tanks and this concept is pretty universal in any military vehicle trainings all over the world lol.
@@KorianHUN He is trained on it, he's able to physically drive the tank and knows where the controls are. But he's realistically bad at it. Some countries may start everyone as drives some might not, even if one does, it's been a long time since you did the job, you will be worse at it.
@@gattonero2915You're correct, but one small error. 19K is an enlisted MOS in the US Army. Enlisted service members progress the way you mentioned. AR(Armor) officers are always TCs, regardless how well or not they are trained on other stations.

The D stands for Duetsch, and the F for French, right? It was the German-French 105? France may as well get one, we know how much Gaijin likes copying vehicles anyway.
@@tetronaut88 Warthunder will say technically it's Austrian and Austria is closer to Germany so Germany gets it. That was the reason they were going to give Germany the SK105 but French mains complained so we got the SK105 and they got the JAPZka2(just a copy pasta)

Can we get another QN506 video? When they fixed the spikes tracking they also fixed the 506’s missiles. That along with the HEAT buff makes the missiles actually useable now
There's also the new meta with it's fire and forget missiles locking at drones and transferring the lock when it flies near an enemy.

i heard you hate british vehicles, vehicles that do no damage and vehicles that are basically CAS magnets, so i think you should play the ratel 90; a gigantic british light tank with no armor, that only gets 90mm HEAT with a 7 second aced reload and that somehow always gets strafed by planes before it's even allowed to leave spawn (day 72)
Seconded. Ratel 90 is honestly fun, I have more good games with it than I have bad somehow, despite it's massive CAS Magnet status.

@@mememachine6022 Yeah it is, I love pulling up to heavy tanks who think nothing of the almost completely empty tank that has 320 mm of pen. Can even face hit the Maus if you know how to aim and it's just so satisfying xD. The Ratel 20 is.. okay imo, but the Ratel 90 is a monster in the right areas.
The reason Germany stopped putting armour on their vehicles is because the thought was that with the advent of HEAT and APFSDS being able to go through an incredible amount of armour, armour was considered mostly obsolete and so they decided to focus more on mobility.
it wasn't just because of HEAT potentially making all steel armour obsolete, it was also just the fact that even useful armour becomes obsolete very quickly. its cheaper to keep a mobile tank relatively mobile than keeping an armoured tank relatively armoured, as mobility tech increases slower than the armour/firepower arms race.
its why the primary factor of the leopard 2 getting good armour was the fact it didn't sacrifice much tactical mobility for it (and even then until the cold war reduced budgets they also wanted a lightly armoured tank for strategic mobility)

Hey Spookston, I suggest you try the Type 10 / TKX, it's pretty cool to use the suspension to shoot over hills, and you have 615mm pen APFSDS with 4 seconds reload, plus it can reach 70 km/h reversing.

Day 84 You should play a tank with hydropneumatic suspension (recommend the MBT-70) But the catch is you have to drop the suspension as low as it can go for the whole match.

Attempt 39 Challenge: For high tier support a nations MBT with its respective APC/IFV counterpart (ie Abrams/Bradley, T90/BMP2M, etc.) Challenge is keeping the other player alive and supporting it without stealing kills (breaking barrels, tracking, repairing, etc) it being a random should help make it interesting.
2:17 the delay is real... but it happens to me sometimes too sometimes it says "Critical Hit" and 0.5s later "Target Destroyed"... it happens much more with apfsds because the dart travels so far inside the tank and destroys more modules on its way

welp my country still use amx and i kinda like it, but only half of the fleet (120+) operational and the remaining tanks were upgraded and retrofitted with new fire control system and 105mm rifled gun by local manufacture XD
