That is so me. Even now in my "old age" the words in my head are all about FAIRNESS. It the topic isn't necessarily about me, but its always about what is fair, and what isn't.
One of my managers was critical parent and would change to rebellious child when they were challenged. This made life at work difficult where staff were set up against each other causing separation in groups where I felt anxious and stressed. There was a big blaming culture which was encouraged and the more sensitive and adapted staff would just go along with it to be on the right side. My colleague who is nurturing parent would be supportive and calming but would be
That explains why I felt so annoyed yesterday with one of my callers lol. I always find it fascinating how I always see myself in all ego states. Excellent as always Yaz xx
Thanks, for your time invested in these videos. Thanks for these woderful solutions to improve our personalities and relations. God bless you in many ways!!!
I'm watching all your video's and I'm so impressed! You offer such clarity and offer simple explanations. I'd appreciate other videos because I do like your style. Brilliant - well done and thank you. Big hug to you !
I am going through these videos for the first time and think they have been very helpful to identify the voices in my head that i had internalized and identified as myself. I am reading about T.A. for the first time, and hope I can give you a better feed back if I read them a second time.
rebellious child is the ego state most unknown to me 😂 any of the others i understand, but i was the most rule-abiding, diplomatic kid. i only started breaking rules as an adult
Hi Antonia, thanks for the feedback and I'm glad you are finding the videos useful. Please do share any experiences you may have had and/or if you would like me to cover anything specific you had in mind :)
Wow!! You are amazing. I'm a licensed psychologist in the USA. I'm gaining tools to use with my clientele as well as work on myself. I am learning SOOOOO much about myself and my professional and personal relationship patterns. I'm a hard core CBT therapist and I would love to combine TA skills with CBT techniques. Do you have any resources. I saw in the previous video where you touched on CBT briefly after identifying ego states. It was great. Any resources would be great.
can we get this as a print out or slides we can print? ...this video was so great and i want to study these notes ---theyre written so well---better than i could draw write type and i want to print it!! :D
Hi, thank you for covering this. I'd like to ask for your help & thank u. I feel i was a rebellious child. I'm a live in caregiver for an elderly woman now & i seem to get frustrated & angry by her very easily. I want to change my attitude & behavior towards her & improve our relationship. Any suggestions on where to start? Thanks again.
I have a 9 yr old... I hate to say this, but I find her to be extremely needy. I feel suffocated at times. I can’t seem to think clearly, I feel guilty and inadequate when dealing with her. She is my daughter, but I feel this way when I’m around needy people. I feel the need to do what they want instead of thinking of how I feel.
BUT WAIT! you forgot RC & RC interactions ?!!? I need help because I have a relationship with a man who is also RC, and I feel pushed into Free child /adaptive child which I dont mind lol but I cant stay there long and critical parent states alot and feel his critical parent a lot too I hate it --its the worst!!... How do I stop feeling pushed around or accidentally pushing his ego state around too, and both get into a stable adult state together??? --this video is so enlightening and helps me understand all of our issues lol and why it is amazing at times and hell on earth at others lol ---I don't think Ive ever had another romantic involvement with another RC before and maybe y its so hard to let go---reminds me of myself lol strengths and weaknesses....what are some examples of nurturing parent using an adult message??? I dont understand that sentance .... because I dont understand the difference between a nurturing parent state and nuturing parent message and nuturing parent message in adult state etc
Thanks again for your feedback Mari, and remember, rebellious children are the most misunderstood out of the bunch, so lots of acknowledgement, listening and safe space for the RC to vent! 😉
Transactional Analysis is faced with the Humpty Dumty dilemma . Once you assume human beings are broken into seperate parts, all the kings horses and all the kings men , will never put humaniy together again.TA stregthens fragmentation by reasssuring us that personality does indeed come in seperate parts . Also the Chicago Reader did an article on TA , that reads like a horror story ,''A most dangerous method ''. The comments from people who attended TA re- parenting are horrific , and tell of the abuse they suffered under this brainwashing cult .
'Message from adult state' by NP. I dint get it. Adult message will come when I am in adult state, how will I deliver adult message in NP state? They both are different states 🤔
It is so helpful thank you very much. Do you have any lesson related to love & intimate relationship. How those child play in love sitaution. Which child loves? Free child? Adaptive? I am currious to know, to manage and understand those situations.
These videos are great! My wife and I are having a good time analysing and thinking. One difficulty we were thinking about is how the rebellious child seems to be rebelling with no agenda. Once the child is aware of the agenda then does she/he become an adult? Because if say a teenager find herself/himself breaking rules and realises that the end point is actually attention, will the rebellious child teenager reason with herself/himself and try to get the attention any other way? Will that mean that a rebellious child is always not self aware and as soon as awareness comes in then they will move on to a different state? Is this a negative judgement of the rebellious child state? Thanks for the videos!
Well, actually, it completely seems that I am natural adaptive child, with a rebellious child ego also... and it didn't go down well for my ex partner ... she needed something from me, and I couldn't give it to her during these rebellious times, and I do believe she was adaptive and rebellious child massively also, which the two of us completely obliterated the relationship. I so wish she'd come back though. Five year relationship. We were the best of friends, and the hardest of enemies, hurting each other soooooooo much and being miserable with it. We both needed nurturing parent, and we weren't
I come back to these videos over & over again amazing vids most helpful in explaining TA
God bless you Yaz, you are just the best ❤
I’m not sure if you are still making videos but I wanted to let you know I found it amazing thank you for the work
I clearly am a rebellious child! This explains my whole life!
ditto lol my exact reaction too lol
This is all so much better than labelling people as Narcissist, Codependent etc. ... it is practical, real
That is so me. Even now in my "old age" the words in my head are all about FAIRNESS. It the topic isn't necessarily about me, but its always about what is fair, and what isn't.

These videos are brilliant. Was struggling with TA Today and my girlfriend sent this link. These videos have helped so much. Thank you. Now onto N5 x
I'm loving this series I could definitely relate to rebellious child ego state and get how a nurturing parent could soothe a rebellious child's mind.

Overwhelming at times even dough I knew she meant well.

Oh my life all makes sense now. Rebellious child. I do get annoyed with easy going people...
Thanks again for your feedback Mari, and remember, rebellious children are the most misunderstood out of the bunch, so lots of acknowledgement, listening and safe space for the RC to vent! 😉
Also a big hello from the other side of the pond.I am in the USA
Hi Kelly from the USA, lovely to have you on board and thank you so much for your feedback!
We both kept switching between rebellious child and adaptive child ... and she was also critical parent ... and that hit my triggers sooooo much
What about little professor?

An interesting perspective as the 10yrs I have used TA, with myself and others has achieved nothing but highly positive impactful results.
would you ellaborate on this if you'd like?

What happened to the Little Professor? You have not identified this at all :-(
