I believe that this is one of the Best Examples of Transactional Analysis Therapy. After watching your video I get the feeling of Karen Horney's theory also being including in your session. I want to thank you both for taking time out of your day to post such an excellent video. FR

I wonder whether Ed regular cutting off Tori has a positive or negative influence on their relationship and the process. Could someone share their thoughts about that?

In trying to assist those with concerns as to their interaction feelings with others, especially in a therapy session the "therapist has to be the Leader." If the person needing assistance had all the answers to their problems they would not need to be counseled. Keep in mind that this is not going to be the only session that Tori will need, but Ed is setting up a new foundation for Tori understanding of her family's behavior. I have reviewed this video a number of times and although I understand your concern as to the + and - in their conversation, I have concluded that Ed's session is mainly exploration and educational. Pillepup, great question, FR

Good demonstration of the ego states (but not in-depth enough to show future impact) and drama triangle. I use T.A. In organizations with individuals and teams to improve the relationships among and between supervisors, managers and direct reports; as well as with customer service reps handling customer complaints that have been escalated to a senior leadership level.

I absolutely hate how he keeps talking over her. Asking a question and then cutting her off. It's just so continuous throughout this session.

I think hee cutting her off because she’s talking more than he wanted her to in this mock session

looks like training rather than therapy. Very simple and making a lot of assumptions without hearing much of what is being said by the client.

I get seasick from the continuous camera movements. Also the sound quality is poor. The text is hard to understand. Please put the camera on a tripod, and use microphones for the actors.

    On Children
And a woman who held a babe against her bosom said, Speak to us of Children.
    And he said:
Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you yet they belong not to you.
You may give them your love but not your thoughts,
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow, which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them, but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.
You are the bows from which your children as living arrows are sent forth.
The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite, and He bends you with His might that His arrows may go swift and far.
    Let your bending in the archer’s hand be for gladness;
For even as He loves the arrow that flies, so He loves also the bow that is stable.

    Kahlil Gibran - 1883-1931
