I really hate that you go through 8 years of school, 5 years of residency, rack up hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt and meanwhile some "tik tok star" is making more money per post than you are in a year
N E H A A The fact that people who play sports professionally like football players are getting paid more than physicians/surgeons. Which they work 60 hours a week and barely get any sleep.
I wish the general population and especially a lot of foreign parents realized that not every doctor was making tons of money and living a glamorous life.
Adnan A hmm. I honestly think the general public’s idea of just how rich a doctor....any doctor Is perfectly accurate. In the thumbnail it’s a split screen between a “well off doctor” and a filthy rich doctor. I can almost guarantee u that despite the income varying wildly by specialty even a well off doctor is richer than the vast majority of the us population. Boo hoo, u only made 200K instead of the surgery average $300-$500k.
@@leilanidru7506 The doctor making 200k also went to medical school for years and forwent salary for those years, not to mention accumulated debt. The average medical school costs hundreds of thousands of dollars.
A V duh. Who in their right mind would undergo almost half a million dollars in debt for an average salary and payoff? Their income is their greatest weapon and it’s pays off in the long run. Of course they’ll be behind their peers in the beginning but obviously approx mid- late 30s their income shoots up and being a doctor actually pays off. Handsomely. Even if u account for the couple years it’ll take them to pay off that debt. They’ll be behind at first but will in the long run become part of the top 5% income earners in the US.
@@nater88dawg Hope those people are doing something they really really enjoy! Because 60 work hours plus the related time getting ready for work means a lot of time! It doesn't surprise me when a lot of older overworked doctors are fat and disgusting potatoes with tonnes of wrinkles and eye bags once I hear their schedules. They are always amazed that I keep up with and often know as much or more about whats new in their specialty since they don't have the time to keep up with research when they have those schedules and a family. When you are hitting over 60 hours a week, I really think its valuable to hire a part time assistant. Maybe that might just be for cooking or cleaning, but you can also hire an online research assistant to keep you up to date. Personally, I wouldn't have kids if I did 70 hour workweeks. Why produce children to farm them out to a babysitter? The point of having a family is to spend time with them. Kids need love more than they need an iPhone X or a brand new car for the 17th birthday. Let them get a used one.

Hey! I'm a Stanford Pre-Med and I just wanted to say, all your videos are very informative and entertaining. Appreciate the effort in serving the incoming medical community.
Lilliam Pumpernickle It definitely has to do with studying efficiently. While most people spend time reading and rereading, I created my own flashcards that didn’t necessarily involve memorizing, but tested my ability to think and explain a particular concept. Also, I’m really on top of my homework/tests so I absolutely don’t procrastinate. I find that scheduling helps you stay productive and allows you to enjoy leisure time without feeling guilt.

I'll try out your method next year( Ill need it) for AP chem, AP bio, AP English Lang, and APUSH
bullshit. my doctor friends have boats, eat at the finest restaurants, take extravagant vacations and enjoy all manner of luxury.. there is plenty of time to enjoy it.
It's enough to be comfortable if you're single, maybe a wife and 1 child, and not living in a ridiculous place like NY or CA. You definitely won't be vacationing in the Hamptons or Martha's Vineyard, though. No gambling trips in Monaco, no breakfast on the French Riviera. Hell, I made $80K last year and it really didn't feel any different than earning $55K - $65K, because I'm just putting more into retirement. So while my coworkers drive newer cars and have nicer clothes, I drive an 18 yr old car and usually keep shoes for 10+ years, clothes twice as long. I still have t-shirts from the 80s and 90s. If you ever get your income to $70K, just resist the temptation to spend more. You should save more, because you can't work forever, and you'll want to have fun when you're retired and can do whatever you want all day, every day.
SuperN0va Well, you can die before retirement and all of that sacrifice will be in vain. Besides, wenn you are old you no longer want trips or fancy cars. You will just wish health.
@@luiza2021 you make a great point, however even if I die tomorrow, I have a wife and children to think of, and one child is still school age. So my savings would not be in vane. Also, the things I want to do won't change when I'm retirement age. I'm 44 and still want to fly model rockets, play video games, enjoy astronomy, read books, and I will always be a "car guy". But of course I will want to be healthy. If I didn't save and lived like there was no tomorrow, I'd be guaranteed to be in terrible financial shape if I live to retirement. Risk vs reward says I should save, so that is what I do.
Sorry but if I go into 200k-300k in debt I want to get paid at least 300k a year so that I can recover from said debt within like six years so yes compensation will be a secondary factor
Google Will Know Legit the reason when its time I will try to match into anesthesiology, it’s the least amount of work and it pays rather well. I also like the field, but that itself is a secondary factor.
I’m not smart enough to become a doctor but I do recognize the fact that if you want to be rich or whatever, medicine is not the way to go, unless you go for something like spinal neurosurgery. The years and years it takes to earn the large salaries and the debt is altogether not worth it.
@@richboiz8804 I can't say it's the least amount of work. If you're looking for bang for your buck, I think EM is the best paid specialty per hour worked. Also, in anesthesia, you most likely have to do a fellowship unless you want to babysit CRNAs all day
Bubbas Ernie no. Average is the mean. And median is the middle. Mean is sum divided by the number of people or units or whatever. And median is literally just the middle of the data and the line in which 50% of the data falls below and 50% fall above. For example, if you put 12 people in a room (let’s call it the red room) and calculated their average income. Let’s say 10 of them are McDonald’s workers, 1 is bill gates and the other is warren buffet. Add their net worth and divide by 12 and the average or mean will come to billions of dollars but the two outlier billionaires in the room skewed the data and misrepresented the true income of the group. So say I wanna become a red room member and see that the average income is 55 billion dollars, this is misrepresentative because the vast majority of people in the red room don’t make that much. But if you were to draw a line down the middle it would give you a way more accurate representation of what ur most likely to make if u join the red room. Because the median isn’t affected by outliers. You just arrange the numbers from lowest to highest and the middle income is the median. Which means half make higher than that and half make lower than that. ( this middle income will likely be a McDonalds worker and not a billionaire because they are on the far end of the data set) I hope this long winded example made sense.......
Bubbas Ernie therefore, median is a far better representation of averages (for the most part) than the actual calculated average/mean. Because the mean is heavily affected by outliers.
You forgot to mention that the ones that pay the most require the most schooling(extra residency), take on a lot of risk, and are the most likely to get sued....
The Secret Surn if a patient dies or something goes wrong, which is so sad that they get sued since all they did was help as much as they could, i guess some people don’t understand that and just want someone to blame lol
Hear me out, we lower the cost of healthcare per capita by reducing physician salaries, including the specialist, but in turn allocate federal money so that every physician who makes it through medical school, residency, and dedicated x amount of years to being a practicing physician will never have to pay a cent of that debt back. That way physicians will become medical professionals for the right reasons, not the money. And they can’t complain about the ridiculous debt anymore. America is approaching a physician shortage, I think it would work. Not saying we pay them scraps, but nothing above 250k. Obviously if you own your own practice it’s different and more like a business, making the sky the limit.

My son is a intervention radiologist. It was four years undergrad while playing on the football team. Very difficult maintained a 3.82 gpa. Than four years medical school. Three years residency and that was about 50,000 a year. He worked 80 hours per week for that. His total cost of for education was about 360,000. Eleven years before he was fully fledged and done with residency. The cost of the education was not truly the total cost. He still had to have a car and gas money etc, while attending school. As one other person mentioned to me he spent almost as much time in college, medical school and residency as most people would going to elementary, middle school and high school. It’s crazy. I don’t know how he did it. In the end it was worth it because he loves his work and helping others. The financial portion… It’s more than what was listed at the top of the chart in this example. There was a time during his residency, as a father, I felt horrible. All he did was work, work and work. I remember a few times Face timing him And he was dozing off as we spoke after getting home. It definitely was a huge… Commitment
wow.. thank you for posting this video... I always thought CALI had the top paying doctors lol... well as far as states a lot of people come to cali or oversees for plastic surgery .. i cant speak for the rest of the specialities.
Psychiatry may be nowhere to find among the stats, but I really want to pursue it still wholeheartedly! Hopefully, an opportunity knocks where I can practice it in the US. Thank you for this contents Dr. Jubbal. Great content as always!
I'm going to school to become a psychiatrist they make very good money maybe not have a million but more than enough money a year to be very comfortable and one of the biggest trade offs about being a psychiatrist is that you only work 40 hour weeks maybe a bit more but you can actually enjoy the money you make as compared to a surgeon (much respect to them) they make a good amount more money but they don't have much leisure time to enjoy it.
I was a medical recruiter for a few years, and one of the few things that's really bizzare is how many doctors live paycheck to paycheck. The old saying is true for most people their expenditures rise to the level of their salary. Like a doctor in primary care is expected by his peers and say very proud family etc. To live like a multi millionaire on a 200k income. That, and banks are predatory towards doctors a doctor with no credit is almost always going to get a loan because they have such a high guarantee of future income. I mean it’s astoundingly common for a doctor making 20k a month to have less than a thousand in savings.
@@Iamahumanehuman they absolutely positively do. Obviously not all of them but there’s no way for me to explain to you how common it is, they’ll just smoke their credit card and pick up a few extra shifts to pay it off. It’s far more common than you imagine it’s also common for them to call in with a sob story for an advance on their check. Again not all of them, but my god IT ABSOLUTELY happens
binging on Med School Insiders videos for days now and I am not the least bit discouraged with anything, even with the length of training/residency and fellowship....part of why I still want to pursue this dream is because I know I'd be constantly busy and the fulfilling feeling that it brings.
Neurosurgery resident here. I didn't plan on NSGY going into medical school but I ended up here because I found my passion. It'd be asinine to choose one of these specialities based on salary, its simply too much work to justify the pay in comparison to other residencies. If you're a high schooler or even an underclassman in college- don't worry about this stuff. Just go study to put yourself in a position where you can make the choices you want to.
Dr. Kevin Jubbal, I have to say your content is very informative. You will make me switch my major from engineering to medicine if I kept watching your videos!
Bad Otaku what I like about medicine is having acl reconstruction surgery and being thankful for my surgeon because without him I wouldn’t have been able to walk again... so I wanna help people the same way I was helped
@simply elizabeth Idk yet. I'm going to start nursing school in March. In comparison to the American nursing school, nursing students in Germany get paid, there are more practical phases and you have slightly higher chances to get to study medicine when you finished the nursing program.
i already know i want to be an anesthesiologist because i love watching surgeries and helping people through their anesthesia. like all of my life i was always the “mom” in my friend groups; i helped them through breakups, gave advice, promised everything would be okay. this could be shown in surgery but i just think it’s lots of pressure. everyone tells me “ew anesthesiologists get payed so much and they don’t do anything” and it’s not true. you have to put the many years of schooling after hs on the radar and the fact that you’re holding someone’s life in your hands.
I'm a truma surgeon fellow and I picked my specialty because of a 2 deployments to Afghanistan as a combat medic but the salary range for my specialty goes from 200k-400k literally based off of where I go for work. The supply and demand is very real for some specialists
I had full academic scholarships for both university and medical school. I was in the top 20 in my class and could’ve selected multiple high paying specialties but I selected pediatrics because that’s what I enjoyed most. I had a wonderful 20 year career in primary care general pediatrics, but when I left pediatrics to join FDA, my starting salary was more than I ever made practicing pediatrics in a metro area on the East Coast. And now I get to help thousands or more patients with my work rather than one patient at a time.
Truth!! Great video that’s concise & to the point, all while offering valuable content. Don’t just go for the money. Choose a specialty that will make you happy. You’ll be a better doctor as a result
Because everything is relative. If you’re comparing it to other specialties that’s not a ton. But if you’re comparing it to The average salary, That’s amazing
I agree with what Levi said. Also, you have to take into account that the average Dr graduates with $200k in debt, and that debt accrues exponentially during the 3-7 years when they are only making around 50k (residency).
Doctor salary has increased in recent years, but only numerically. When adjusted for inflation, doctors in the 80s and 90s were making about 33% more than their counterparts today, with much, much less student loan debt. There was also less hassle seeking billing from insurance companies, and fear of being sued for malpractice. People used to trust their doctors, but now they've become viewed as money-grubbing con artists. Patients file frivolous malpractice lawsuits because they believe their doctors are loaded, and want a piece of it. But even the highest payed doctors aren't uber-rich. Six figures (and even seven) is a very good income, but it's nowhere near the amount that professional football, basketball, and baseball players make. Most doctors couldn't afford a Ferrari, and the ones who could work so much they wouldn't be able to enjoy it. Doctors who live like professional athletes spend their paycheck as fast as they can get it, and don't have any savings

My parents always tell me that I should study well and become a doctor because they don't want me to become a normal office worker (like them) because they say it's too toxic and I agree with that coz sometimes my mother gets gets home crying because of her boss, my father gets home really tired because of overwork yet having little pay (about $280 a month). They perceive doctors as rich and 'no bosses' to follow, and that was what I thought before too. I told them that what if I don't want to become a doctor, and they said that sometimes it is about practicality. I don't blame my parents tho. All the doctors around us in our little city have huge houses, lots of cars, etc.
just a reminder that a lot of physicians easily pay off their debt in about 5-6 years. This often isn't even the case for people who just went to a four year university.
This is like a really good video and at the same time a really good promotion for your site. I hope more people does it in a good way the way you guys do this.

I’ve always dreamt of being a cardiologist since my childhood. I lost many family members due to heart diseases and not being able to afford enough health car, made me realise if I were to become a cardiologist I could save many other people’s family members so that they can be alive and enjoy the moments my family members couldn’t.

These surveys are misleading to some degree. Ultimately high volume practices with large surgical/procedure volume pay the most. In my specialty of ophthalmology the pay is highly variable. I was a little discouraged because I wanted to do endocrinology and found out they were on the lower end of pay, around 253k a year in arizona on average, which is a lot but nothing compared to urologists or cardiologists, but then I realized 253k is a boat load of cash, enough to live a decently happy life with a family and still put a ton away for retirement once you become more stable income wise. It's not only about what you make it's what you keep. My dad was a non MD VP COO of a Hospital and when he died he was loaded. His best friend was a Neurosurgeon making twice the salary yet that doctor spent the money instead of investing.
I live in Bosnia and Herzegovina, on Balkans. In most of Ex-Yugoslavian countries doctors earn between 10-15000€ per year, which is about 16-17000$ per year. For most other countries this is a very bad salary but it's actually one of the most profitable jobs on Balkans, still. Our medical system is focused on solidarity, tolerance, altruism, which means that 95% of all procedures are completely free for everyone. Also, our doctors often get compensations from patients as an act of gratefulness, so the average year salary I sad can be a little bit higher considering these compensations. These are some differences between Southeastern Europe and Western and American medical systems that I wanted to share 🙂🙂
I would appreciate that if u make a video on Psychiatrist like; about the study methods, ups and downs ,salaries etc . And thanks for all ur videos it really helps us the students like me those who wants to aspire this profession
Averages don't paint an accurate picture, the median is what's important; the distribution of wealth for most physician specialties is typically skewed.... plz put more thought into the statistics and what they mean because otherwise thousands of people that watch your videos will have an inaccurate picture of the world of medicine itself.
I don't really care about the specialties as long as I become a doctor. But if I were to choose, it'd be one of these: 1. neurosurgery 2. cardiothoracic surgery 3. gastroenterology 4. hematology/oncology - a not-so-sure-if-i-will-proceed-to-med-school person
Psychiatrists are earning more not only because there is increased demand, but because the reimbursement from Medicaid just increased significantly. So their salary increase is owed to much more than what a simple supply/demand curve can explain.
People, choose the specialty that you like the most... For example I never thought about a surgery field, because I hate it (it’s too repetitive and boring for me). I prefer internal medicine and it’s branches because I really love physiology, pathophysiology and pharmacology.
Med School Insiders, Oh! I’m sorry if I gave you the wrong idea. But I have seen in a lot of videos on RUclips that a lot of people (of course not everybody) give too much importance to money and prestige in order to select their path (and I don’t know why this video gave me that sensation). For example how much money some specialties make vs the others. And to be clear I know that you tell in the video that money is not something you should consider as an important reason to study medicine. So in my first comment I am not saying that the video is telling us that idea. And please do not misunderstand me, but I am tired of videos that sell the idea of “the top specialties, top salaries, top scores etc”... and of course I am going to change my first comment in order to not give the wrong idea.
I saw ophtho at 350k on your chart but (and I dont know if other specialties are like this) I've seen ophthalmologists making around 350k and others making over 3M easily (Lasik, refractive lensectomy) and I would say the majority around in thr range of 400k to 750k.
@@jaehongsong4904 Well my comments are not in reference to "median" rather range. It's impossible to calculate a true median unless all the high earners participate in the stats and generally they do not. I'll just tell you at my particular place of employment the lowest paid ophtho is around 500k. The highest is around 1.5M. The median is around 700k. Ophtho reimbursement is not "plummeting" because there's literally almost no way for it to go lower. However because of premium IOLs and other services, the income has held steady
@@jaehongsong4904 Here's an easy way to figure out the 350k figure is BS. Look at job openings and advertised salaries... they are minimum 300k some upwards of 500k. That is starting salary without productivity bonus.

I love your videos Doctor Jubbal but I think it would be more beneficial if you didn’t use medical abbreviations like PM&R since the majority of people are not going to know what these terms are that’s why they are watching your videos, to learn. Keep up the good work!
Agreed, though I do concede that such details probably only matter to people trying to go into the medical profession and they'll probably know or look it up.
The thing is, the people this information is most applicable to are the ones who know what PM&R is. It's actually the way other medical professionals call the specialty. Also, it isn't more than a google search away. Consider that actively seeking the information out may help you retain it better (active vs passive learning).
@@faithlesshound5621 although this can be backed up by research this opinion is also based on personal experience. I have two younger sisters and both have only pushed me to reach me goal more. I have shadowed and volunteered to make sure this is a profession I really want to pursue. :)
Actually a good one, think about it this way people are gonna get mental issues anyway at least now they are looking for treatment instead of denying it.
Great video! But I noticed that you didn’t go into specialities within specialities. For example: A heart surgeon could specialize in pediatrics, or they specialize in transplant. This would greatly affect the salary as pediatric surgeons generally earn substantially higher amounts than their adult counterparts, I know, I was told so by a congenital heart surgeon.
53 y.o doc here. For financial success, here are the rules. Rule 1, be careful who you marry. Rule 2, be careful who you marry. Rule 3, after residency, spend as much effort researching the stock market as you did studying medicine. I suggest a few thousand a month into index ETFs (ie S&P 500, NASDAQ) and a few other stocks. Create a performa based on the funds' 10 year annual average. Rule 4, avoid the baller spending until you can cover ALL your monthly living expenses (including mortgage) with your passive investment income. Rule 5, keep at least 3-6 months of living expenses in the bank in case of emergency, including a quick exit out of a bad workplace. Rule 6, see rules 1 and 2.
By the time Doctors are in their 40's they'll be making much more and will be well settled and stress free than any other professions. Tiktok stars/youtubers or even IT Professionals will be really struggling to even stay alive once they're phased out. Even now its not that bad.
Imagine going through 10+ years of school and residency with loans and at the end of it still not living a lavish life lmaoooo

Heres an interesting question: Are you 'wealthy' if you work 60 hour weeks, are stressed and exhausted, but come home to a huge house?
60hr weeks are the average workweek for docs in the US. That's 5 12hr days a week....hardly overachieving.
All I want is to provide my family with the highest quality of life and means to succeed possible. So yeah.

While I’m here, thinking 70k+ every year is a lot.
That's nothing
bro 50k every year is way more than enough if you are single

Averages don't always show the full story. Should've talked more about the median pay of doctors.
Ken Kernen tru💯 outliers and skewness of the data can paint a slightly deceiving picture.
Ken Kernen its surprising how many people will fall for averages as if there aren't typically extremes
Isn’t average and median the same thing. Lol.
@TRP What? I know several doctors and all have been sued 5-10 times. It's pretty common, but yes that's why they have malpractice insurance

That’s so amazing to hear!

I mean it’s astoundingly common for a doctor making 20k a month to have less than a thousand in savings.
lifestyle inflation is a bitch
Boohoo
No way they’d have less than 1000 in their savings lmao
@@Iamahumanehuman they absolutely positively do. Obviously not all of them but there’s no way for me to explain to you how common it is, they’ll just smoke their credit card and pick up a few extra shifts to pay it off. It’s far more common than you imagine it’s also common for them to call in with a sob story for an advance on their check. Again not all of them, but my god IT ABSOLUTELY happens
this is why when I become a doctor I’m gonna have a side hustle
binging on Med School Insiders videos for days now and I am not the least bit discouraged with anything, even with the length of training/residency and fellowship....part of why I still want to pursue this dream is because I know I'd be constantly busy and the fulfilling feeling that it brings.

@@samuelsquires4585 Haha. Well here in Texas med school costs are almost close to European and Canadian schools.
Six figures (and even seven) is a very good income, but it's nowhere near the amount that professional football, basketball, and baseball players make. and what a surprise dermatologists make lots of money too. a win win solution huh.
A lot of people don’t realize that during those years in uni/college or med school or whatever you can still have a life and a family.
It will be difficult but if you really want a family bf/gf or just anything but study and school,
Go at it!
Private practice is where it is at. I like the business side. I like hiring the staff I want. I love not having an admistrator tell me what emr to use or what equipment to buy. I take less vacation than my employed counterparts. However, I need less vacations because I'm not as stressed. I enjoy going to work and still feel that way after 25 years.
These surveys are misleading to some degree. Ultimately high volume practices with large surgical/procedure volume pay the most. In my specialty of ophthalmology the pay is highly variable. If you are mostly medical and low volume the pay is low 200’s. High volume refractive cataract surgeons can easily make 1 million plus.
An old friend is an ophthalmologist with a large surgical practice. He grosses between 3 and 5 million.

I Wana go to med school but the costs, oh my dear God!!! My spirit just sinks when I think about it.
there are some schools in europe that offer free education to even international students... its something to consider. Even If you just have to pay living expenses it still way cheaper.
@@suras8984 That is incredible. Thanks so much for sharing this advice. I didnt know about it. Will do some research. Thanks a lot.
German universities are super cheap
Studying in georgia is not too costy
France too is an option best medical school in france according to my Dr is in Marseille
Good luck !

Haven't met one that speaks decent English in my 40 yr career! Doesn't affect their skill but a pain for team communication, patient following directions during procedures.
this was really interesting!
please make a video on hospital administrators - their challenges, salary and everything. Thank you!
I am from India( low income country ) and we work with Psychiatrists making more than 15 million dollars a year and they barely work for 8 hours a week .Money can be earned through your talent .
Do you understand difference between dollar and rupee?? 15 million dollar is 120 crore rupees.... Lol lmao

My mom makes 12k a year, my dad 40k, and we honestly live fairly comfortably all be it we make lots of smaller sacrifices like vacations and larger presents. So making at most 10 times that salary would be incredible
Same! I have the same perspective, to a lot of people with privileged backgrounds they may complain but coming from a poor family these privileged kids don’t realize
2:35 tells you about our society
Hello beautiful
It's not only about what you make it's what you keep. My dad was a non MD VP COO of a Hospital and when he died he was loaded. His best friend was a Neurosurgeon making twice the salary yet that doctor spent the money instead of investing.
So much truth in this comment.
Physicians/surgeons are usually terrible investors.
If you want to be the richest man in the graveyard, run the hospital, don't treat the patients.
I live in australia and they let you pay your student money for college when you start working so after you become a doctor you can pay it off
Really? I'm Aussie aswell good to know.
I'm 23 and I've always wanted to be a doctor. Ugggh I may have to go out on that limb
Never too late. People go to med school when they’re 40.
Averages don't paint an accurate picture, the median is what's important; the distribution of wealth for most physician specialties is typically skewed.... plz put more thought into the statistics and what they mean because otherwise thousands of people that watch your videos will have an inaccurate picture of the world of medicine itself.
What's the difference between average and median then?
@BabylonianDynamics A troll on the web. You may be smart but not wise. Look up and live what wisdom is, takes a life time...
@BabylonianDynamics Well taken. Just looked it up, thanks.
I don't really care about the specialties as long as I become a doctor. But if I were to choose, it'd be one of these:
1. neurosurgery
2. cardiothoracic surgery
3. gastroenterology
4. hematology/oncology
- a not-so-sure-if-i-will-proceed-to-med-school person
I saw ophtho at 350k on your chart but (and I dont know if other specialties are like this) I've seen ophthalmologists making around 350k and others making over 3M easily (Lasik, refractive lensectomy) and I would say the majority around in thr range of 400k to 750k.
nope. Median for ophtho is around 350k, nowhere near 750k. Ophtho reimbursement plummeted and it is getting more difficult to make like that
@@jaehongsong4904 Well my comments are not in reference to "median" rather range.
I always wanted to be a neurosurgeon. Now I can be and get paid for the job I love!!
Me too. I wanted to be a neurosurgeon even before I knew about the salary and when I realized neurosurgeons get paid a lot, I was happy because I get paid a lot to do what I love. I was inspired by Ben Carson.
Wait for the video on salary of hospital administrators!!
You are very creative! My respect!
In my 45 year Medical Career, I met one Neurosurgeon who married one woman and stayed married to her all his life. They earn every penny...

Can anyone tell me whether being dermatologist is as time consuming as others like cardiology, etc. I want to become a dermatology but at the same time find time for myself as well as y family

This broke all my dreams😭

For some young women, that overwhelming desire to work with children goes away once they have children of their own.

Is the increase in demand for psychologists a good or bad thing?
Definetly a bad one
Actually a good one, think about it this way people are gonna get mental issues anyway at least now they are looking for treatment instead of denying it.
Depends, are you a psychiatrist?
Depends on whether you are the practitioner or the patient.
@TRP Yeah but if you can solve problems by talking with a psychologist, psychiatrists dont get the pharma money off your prescription.
Don't be a doctor just because of the pay.

The name for that is fellowship
Who you marry as in? Could you Be specific ?
By the time Doctors are in their 40's they'll be making much more and will be well settled and stress free than any other professions. Tiktok stars/youtubers or even IT Professionals will be really struggling to even stay alive once they're phased out.
Even now its not that bad. Even in a third world country a doctor is far well off than an average person. Competency is the key, money is the byproduct for us doctors.
