I always thought that it would be cool to see Starflight with powers. Like Darkstalker said, it was a really frustrating missed opportunity that the three moons didn’t get to give him cool powers. It would have been AWESOME to see what would happen with the dragonets if he did, and would have added some extra intenseness to the story. Also, it would have been interesting to see if Darkstalker entered his mind at some point.
I do still really like the poor “you’re supposed to be god, right?” Thing and star flight being really freaked out about it. It’s a really unique concept that I’ve only seen in the wings of fire books. I’m sure the trope exists somewhere.
Same with sunny, since she is half night wing, and hybrids can get special power too, as we see with Darkstalker. I remember writing an au about sunny getting magical powers from the 3 moons because dune wasn’t quick enough to get her egg in the cave
I had an idea for a What If! What if the original and fake prophecy dragonets switched roles? The fake dragonets would be “real”, and the real dragonets would be “fake.” Just a thought. :)

Viper idk she died don't know anything about her so... she is just there for the prophecy.

Really good video, and as always, the art is great! I think something interesting is how often Sunny is overlooked within the conversation. She's part nightwing, too. We already know through Darkstalker that hybrids are just as capable as gaining powers as a pure-blooded dragon. After all, Dune *knows* that Sunny is a hybrid. He's *met* her father. If the Guardians knew/were told to place Starflight's egg beneath moonlight, why not Sunny? I feel like that'd have a major impact, too. The prophecy is already altered because they lost the skywing. Then they'd find out that the sandwing isn't even pure-blooded which, I'd imagine they'd see as important. Hell, what would Morrowseer and, by extension, Battlewinner, think about it? *Especially* if they found out exactly WHO Sunny is, the daughter of the Tribe's only animus. Or, who knows? Perhaps Dune wouldn't even say anything. Either way, it'd completely throw the power dynamics out of order if *two* dragonets had prophecy powers and mind-reading. Perhaps it'd even create an us-vs them conflict between Sunny, Starflight and the other dragonets. I mean, special treatment would surely be guaranteed. I can imagine a lot of really dark storylines playing out as a result.
If you haven't done this what if already, could you do a What if Peril and Sky had switched roles and fire powers? I really enjoyed this one, I liked the idea.

i like how his powers just like clay became more pronounced when he was in his element moonlight for Starflight and mud for Clay its genius and a cool idea.
This is a really good idea and What If! This just makes the guardians look even worse, if they had left Starflight to hatch under the moons, then he would have had powers.
I love this What If, and a have some ideas for the next one: What if? What if there was an Icewing dragonet instead of a Nightwing one? What if Luna and Cricket swapped roles AND tribes? (basically a total role swap) What if Sunny had a sister? What if Glory and Deathbringer had an animus dragonet? What if Jewel challenged Wasp and won? What if Starflight grew up on the Nightwing island? What if Sundew killed Wasp? What if the Leafwings won the Tree Wars? What if Sunny had all the powers Darkstalker has? Starlight with powers would definitely spice up the series A LOT! I like the transition from "Without powers" in the books, to "with powers" in the What If.
This is an awesome video as usual, and an amazing drawing! One small thing though is that you forgot to add Starflight's teardrops (if he's a mindreader, he would have teardrop scales by each eye)
I think it was important he didn't. Each dragnet had something supposedly wrong with them. Clay was not aggressive enough and knows nothing if his culture, Tsunami doesn't know aquatic, Glory isn't as placid as the rest if her tribe and her colours are duller, Starlight doesn't have the powers nightwings are supposed to have, and of course sunny is small with no barb and off colour scales and eyes. Of course, these all aren't actually character flaws and they all get explained, but I think they all have to be different than their tribe to be who they are
@kingninjame but that's an important reveal at the end of the fourth book, for atleast some of the dragonets we learn that what originally made them weird in the first book wasn't so bad. Glory, while not as bright and happy, NEEDED to grow up outside the tribe to see how messed up it was and take charge. Clay wasn't trying to kill his friends eggs because he's a protector, and so on. If starlight had his powers he would have been what we knew at the time to be a completely normal nightwing

i think being able to read minds would be helpful after he goes blind, as he could sense the thoughts of dragons coming in, and also see where he was in the room through their mind's eye, and also what scroll he was holding.
This would be highly convenient especially if the volcano happens in this AU, he could probably just follow the his friend’s thoughts or heck see it was gonna happen and avoid the blinding entirely!

I got a sorta weird What if idea. What If Deathbringer trained Glory to be an assassin? We already know they love each other. And the timing could be interesting too. Maybe instead of staying with the other Dragonets of Destiney she goes off on her own for a while before she meets Deathbringer? Maybe Deathbringer is sent to kill Glory (since the guardians failed to do so) and becomes interested in her unique Rainwing skills and has Glory pretend to be dead but have her be in disguise as a Nightwing. Or maybe have it happen way before Deathbringer was even born and have his mom want to save Glorys egg from being smashed by the Guardians. So many ways you could make a story out of these ideas. Just thought I would bring up one that came to my mind.

Thank you for creating an actual story, Cyprus! Your work is amazing! I actually think moon might not affect Nightwing powers, and only gives it to them. Moon stayed away from the moon and her powers stayed the same. She may have only had that change for about 3 days to a week, though.
I think you should do “if Peril and Sky switched places?” I’ll do my own version of this but I think you should do yours. Also, this means that you may need to read Dragonslayer to get a grip on Sky’s story if you haven’t already. It really adds up with the whole arc 1.

(so scarlet found glory on her own as an egg in the sky kingdom, and kestrel brought her own egg, but it was still sky and peril?) -What if SUNNY had the powers of Nightwings since she's a hybrid(or maybe has animus magic?) -what if Qibli and one of his siblings switched places? -What if ClearSight and Darkstalker had Dragonets? -What if Darkstalker became king(weather through murder or good reasons can be up to you :] ) -What if Darkstalker used to take dragonets and fly off with them to a new Nightwing kingdom so that if his plan to attack the queen failed he could still lead? (meaning many dragonets went missing due to this, and potentially there was another Nightwing kingdom that had powers? and worshiped Darkstalker maybe? Back when I first started exploring with wof dragon art designs to find my own style, I started using Cyprus's head style for a while before starting to make it more and more of my own style. I've always looked at Cyprus's art and thought, Dang she's good!
I got one idea for a what if theory. What if orca won and became queen of the seawings? I think that would be an interesting plot and I’d love to see tsunami’s reaction towards the queen, her literal sister, causing the deaths in the drawing hatchery.
I’ve also got several more so I’ll just keep coming here with my ideas starting with… What if gill had an affair with coral and this ended up with another dragonet? I think this would lead to something interesting if you let it, and I’ve already created an oc about it, but I’d like to see your ideas 😊

I think a good idea would be What if Rainwings were like other dragons? I think this could be very interesting as with their venom and camouflage skills, that could easily be the most powerful dragons. It’s just their peace like nature that’s stopping them.
I love this idea. I think your take on Starflight having his powers weakened by lack of exposure to the moon is so creative and unique! Personally, I think Starflight would have stronger future sight powers. Not because it’s natural but because he would work on them. If he was born under three moons, then he would have the same abilities as Darkstalker. Darkstalker didn’t originally have the ability to see every future, but later developed those powers by training himself when he was stuck in a cave with nothing better to do. For Starflight, any future visions he would have would involve danger in some way because of what he and his friends are and what they are ‘destined’ to do. So naturally, being teh worry wort he is who fears practically everything and is super paranoid, he would look into those futures when he realised they were actually futures and nit just nightmares (when he learns that nightwings can see the future). And by doing this, he would develope his power and be like clear sight who has charts upon charts of every possible future and how one action can change it. But he can’t control how other dragons react, only know how them reacting a certain way will change the future. Se he is still super paranoid and trying to give his friends the best future possible but is terrified and doesn't have as much control over the situation as he wants.
I have a few ideas! -What if Six Claws hadn’t saved Blaze? -What if Stone hadn’t killed Oasis? -What if Burn had survived the Dragon Bite Viper? Something along those lines 😅
I never thought about the moon and the powers of the Nightwings. It's a great idea and makes them not so powerful. If you want and have time, this are some of my ideas: What if Tsunami or Sunny would have been an animus? What if Kestrel saved Sky? What if Foeslayer didn't put the earring down? What if Sixclaws never saved Blaze? What if Quickstricke would still be alive? What if Glory wouldn't be related to the former Queen? What if Wren would have let Sky with the dragonets of Destiny?
Ideas: What if Glory knew she had venom in the cave? What if they hadn't escaped before Glory was threatened? What if Tsunami wasn't taken? What if Gill never died? What if Queen Oasis survived? What if Clay had stayed with his sibs?

Darkstalker himself said that Starflight's abilities would've been something extremely powerful had he been properly exposed to the Brightest Night. I theorize that he could've had an extra ability outside of Mindreading and Prophecy, maybe even been able do something like Mindcontrol or Influencing timelines. Not sure though

I have a great idea. It might be a short theory but its a good one. The only reason Arc 1, 2, and 3 happened was because the humans interfered with the dragons. I wonder what would happen if the humans didn't metal with the dragons and let them be. That would be a very interesting theory I hope you'll make a video about.

This is a really good idea and What If! This just makes the guardians look even worse, if they had left Starflight to hatch under the moons, then he would have had powers.

What if the Leafwings won the Tree Wars?
What if Sunny had all the powers Darkstalker has?

Just pointing out that both mindreading and prophecy should be quite strong for Starflight, not hating on you or anything, I love this. And also the idea that they became very weak? AMAZING. I love your work, NEVER stop creating content 😍😍🙂🙂
Starlight with powers would definitely spice up the series A LOT! I like the transition from "Without powers" in the books, to "with powers" in the What If.
This is an awesome video as usual, and an amazing drawing!
One small thing though is that you forgot to add Starflight's teardrops (if he's a mindreader, he would have teardrop scales by each eye)
I was honestly mad they didnt give StarFlight his powers. Imagine how powerful he'd be for hatching on the brightest night. He was seriously robbed
I think it was important he didn't. Each dragnet had something supposedly wrong with them. Clay was not aggressive enough and knows nothing if his culture, Tsunami doesn't know aquatic, Glory isn't as placid as the rest if her tribe and her colours are duller, Starlight doesn't have the powers nightwings are supposed to have, and of course sunny is small with no barb and off colour scales and eyes. Of course, these all aren't actually character flaws and they all get explained, but I think they all have to be different than their tribe to be who they are

@kingninjame but that's an important reveal at the end of the fourth book, for atleast some of the dragonets we learn that what originally made them weird in the first book wasn't so bad. Glory, while not as bright and happy, NEEDED to grow up outside the tribe to see how messed up it was and take charge. Clay wasn't trying to kill his friends eggs because he's a protector, and so on. If starlight had his powers he would have been what we knew at the time to be a completely normal nightwing

I love this so much ❤❤❤. And the drawing is so cute!!! One thing I’ll say is, if Starflight has mind reading, he should have the silver teardrop scale at the corners of his eyes. But the drawing is still ADORABLE I SAY.

Wow! I really loved this interpretation! I agree with him having more mindreading than prophecy because then the plot would be harder to keep.
The idea of needing to be exposed to the moons light not only to have the powers but to sustain them is brilliant! I would really love more of this, though. Especially of them meeting Queen Correl.

What about a what if about Kestrel but instead of saving Peril, she saved the other dragonet? Idk weird idea :)! But this video was so well thought out and you never fail to make this series entertaining!!
i think being able to read minds would be helpful after he goes blind, as he could sense the thoughts of dragons coming in, and also see where he was in the room through their mind's eye, and also what scroll he was holding.
This would be highly convenient especially if the volcano happens in this AU, he could probably just follow the his friend’s thoughts or heck see it was gonna happen and avoid the blinding entirely!

Here’s a idea, how about you do ‘what is Sunny was born a animus and born in the moonlight’ since she really could’ve and Darkstalker would be truly proud of her
I got a sorta weird What if idea. What If Deathbringer trained Glory to be an assassin? We already know they love each other. And the timing could be interesting too. Maybe instead of staying with the other Dragonets of Destiney she goes off on her own for a while before she meets Deathbringer? Maybe Deathbringer is sent to kill Glory (since the guardians failed to do so) and becomes interested in her unique Rainwing skills and has Glory pretend to be dead but have her be in disguise as a Nightwing. Or maybe have it happen way before Deathbringer was even born and have his mom want to save Glorys egg from being smashed by the Guardians. So many ways you could make a story out of these ideas. Just thought I would bring up one that came to my mind.

I actually think moon might not affect Nightwing powers, and only gives it to them. Moon stayed away from the moon and her powers stayed the same. She may have only had that change for about 3 days to a week, though.
I think you should do “if Peril and Sky switched places?” I’ll do my own version of this but I think you should do yours. Also, this means that you may need to read Dragonslayer to get a grip on Sky’s story if you haven’t already. It really adds up with the whole arc 1.

OH MY GOD! I seriously wish Starflight got these powers. The series would have turned out slightly more different, but it was still be awesome. This was a really good idea, and I just love your art style, as well as your speaking voice and how you can shift the stories into an even better experience. I mean, the books are still great. lol.

some suggestions for more What ifs:
(Spoilers for arc 1 and 2 (and some of the legends)
-What if sunny was pure-blooded
-what if one of the DoD was an animus
-what would have happened if the Nightwing tribe never left the old Nightwing kingdom(or the one Clearsight/Darkstalker grew up in)
-What if Tsunami and Anemone switched places?
-What if kestrel "killed" peril instead of sky, and then escaped with him?
-what if clay drowned while escaping
-What if kestrel killed glory
-What if glory and peril where swapped? (so scarlet found glory on her own as an egg in the sky kingdom, and kestrel brought her own egg, but it was still sky and peril?)
-What if SUNNY had the powers of Nightwings since she's a hybrid(or maybe has animus magic?)
-what if Qibli and one of his siblings switched places?
-What if ClearSight and Darkstalker had Dragonets?
-What if Darkstalker became king(weather through murder or good reasons can be up to you :] )
-What if Darkstalker used to take dragonets and fly off with them to a new Nightwing kingdom so that if his plan to attack the queen failed he could still lead? (meaning many dragonets went missing due to this, and potentially there was another Nightwing kingdom that had powers? and worshiped Darkstalker maybe? (this one was inspired by a M.A.P I saw a long time ago although I don't remember the name or who it was posted by)
Those ideas sound awsome. Especially ' what if Darkstalker became king. That sounds like a good What if. 😊

I got one idea for a what if theory. What if orca won and became queen of the seawings? I think that would be an interesting plot and I’d love to see tsunami’s reaction towards the queen, her literal sister, causing the deaths in the drawing hatchery.

What if gill had an affair with coral and this ended up with another dragonet? I think this would lead to something interesting if you let it, and I’ve already created an oc about it, but I’d like to see your ideas 😊

I think a good idea would be What if Rainwings were like other dragons? I think this could be very interesting as with their venom and camouflage skills, that could easily be the most powerful dragons. It’s just their peace like nature that’s stopping them.

I love this idea. I think your take on Starflight having his powers weakened by lack of exposure to the moon is so creative and unique! Personally, I think Starflight would have stronger future sight powers. Not because it’s natural but because he would work on them. If he was born under three moons, then he would have the same abilities as Darkstalker. Darkstalker didn’t originally have the ability to see every future, but later developed those powers by training himself when he was stuck in a cave with nothing better to do. For Starflight, any future visions he would have would involve danger in some way because of what he and his friends are and what they are ‘destined’ to do. So naturally, being teh worry wort he is who fears practically everything and is super paranoid, he would look into those futures when he realised they were actually futures and nit just nightmares (when he learns that nightwings can see the future). And by doing this, he would develope his power and be like clear sight who has charts upon charts of every possible future and how one action can change it. But he can’t control how other dragons react, only know how them reacting a certain way will change the future. Se he is still super paranoid and trying to give his friends the best future possible but is terrified and doesn't have as much control over the situation as he wants.
FINALLY :D ANOTHER WHAT IF! Pls keep posting, I LOVE UR CONTENT SO MUCH

I never thought about the moon and the powers of the Nightwings. It's a great idea and makes them not so powerful. If you want and have time, this are some of my ideas:

What if Foeslayer didn't put the earring down?
What if Sixclaws never saved Blaze?
What if Quickstricke would still be alive?

Darkstalker himself said that Starflight's abilities would've been something extremely powerful had he been properly exposed to the Brightest Night. I theorize that he could've had an extra ability outside of Mindreading and Prophecy, maybe even been able do something like Mindcontrol or Influencing timelines. Not sure though

I have a great idea. It might be a short theory but its a good one. The only reason Arc 1, 2, and 3 happened was because the humans interfered with the dragons. I wonder what would happen if the humans didn't metal with the dragons and let them be. That would be a very interesting theory I hope you'll make a video about.

Another awesom What if that I can't believe I didn't leave a comment on. I think it would be awesome for him to have had powers and I think he would have had powers as strong as Darkstalker. And he could have helped them a lot.
With that I think he probably would have known that Peril had a crush on Clay and what have found a better way of convincing her to help them. The idea of his power's weakening being under the mountain though is interesting.
I would LOVE to hear more of this though-out the book! Maybe we could hear more another time. I'm very interested if you can make a little podcast of what if's like on Spotify or something like that I don't know how to do it but I'm sure someone can help. I'm unsure though.
