Although I'm not a big cult fan I still enjoyed this video, very interesting and informative, great work as always, keep up the good work my friend, cheers, Dave
I only have Dreamtime and Love. Love absolutely their masterpiece! I thought in 1985 The Cult are new wavers but when I saw the cover of Electric I was a bit disappointed. I bought Electric but resold it. But good to show us which albums are very good and which ones are not so good. If I can get a good price of a Cult album I will buy it. Around 2005 Ian toured with the surviving members of The Doors as Riders On The Storm. I saw a little concert poster in Antwerp( Belgium ) where I lived 5 years, and I thought they were a little coverband, but afterwards I learned it was Ian Asrbury and The Doors! greetz Jason
Hi Gav! The She Sells Sanctuary 12” was the first one for me. Still have it. When you described that latest /22 album I was in agreement. I was that tour in Boston that summer. I caught a drumstick! Black Rebel Motorcycle Club were the opener. Awesome show! I was disappointed with Ceremony . I still have my CD copy, but at the time of its release I was not impressed and it never gained ground with me since. It just doesn’t work for me. I saw the Sonic Temple tour in /89 in Ottawa. It was the coldest December night. Jason Bonham’s band were the opener. Very enjoyable video on one of my favorite bands! ✌️
Thanks Mike - looks like we have a similar view on the mighty Cult - I’m also a big BRMC fan so that was some double bill ! Thanks for commenting and watching- glad you enjoyed 👍🇬🇧🫡
1. Sonic Temple 2. Love 3. Electric (loses a point for the awful cover of born to be wild) Zap city is actually one of their best songs 4. Beyond Good .. 5. Dreamtime 6. Ceremony 7. Hidden City The rest i can have in any order but the one i dislike the most is The Cult (1994).
While i wouldnt put Beyond Good and Evil last, mostly because of Rise which is a classic and one of their greatest songs imo, it’s just good to see the underrated Born Into This not ranked at the bottom for once. I’d probably put either Hidden City or The Cult last
Can't believe this band didn't conquer U.S in total . Such a great , big songs like Indian , Nico , Nirvana , Be Free , Saints are Down , Star , Go West , etc.
I followed the Cult all the way up to the 1994 self titled album. It was quite disappointing because they seemed to have strayed from the rock style they had so successfully developed. I didn't bother with them after that. My number 1 would be Electric, followed by Love at number 2 and then Ceremony and Sonic Temple at 3 and 4.
Yep that 1994 album was a big departure! Glad they came back in the late 2000’s with some great records - thanks for commenting John and welcome to the channel 👍🫡🇬🇧🤘
Alright Boss , Ranking videos can be fun but some take them far too serious. I saw The Cult at the Brum Odeon 1985 and it was one of the wildest gigs i have ever been to. Off subject The New Cure Album is a grower, quite dark in tone just like they should be. Take Care Matey
@@PSN489 wow ! I too saw the cult in brum in 85 ! I really miss the Bham Odeon still along with Reddingtons rare records ! I’m loving that new Cure album - thanks again - and take care Alfie 👍🫡🇬🇧
@ yep much missed - apparently the stage and stuff is still there behind the cinema screens - they have a Facebook group for fans of the old concerts there
I used to hate "Electric". It was a real disappointment after "Love", and I considered they had gone 'heavy metal' - although I have to say I did like the singles, apart from "Born to be Wild". But then many years later I heard what I thought was a track off the album and I checked it out again, and it opened my ears and my eyes. I couldn't believe that I had disregarded such a great album and it had lain, unused, in my cupboard for years. What a fool I was. And yes, I do now consider it to be better than "Love".
@@boxyfella thanks boxy - great comments - I saw the Electric 30th tour and enjoyed it more than the Love tour ! But that Love album is so good and pretty perfect so it’s stayed my No 1 but Electric runs it close 👍🫡🇬🇧

The Cult and The Cure are nothing like each other.
Both great bands though!
Gothic
@jasonblake924 Gothic look but they sound completely different ones a rock band the others pop music.
@@stephen-truthseeker Gothic rock, no pop band.
@stephen-truthseeker yep gothy for a bit but diversified later which helped them in the long run 👍
