How incredibly beautiful this is. I'm in heaven. Todd has such a special romantic quality in his voice when he's in ballad mode. The quirkiness is so special. I love him.
This is just gorgeous. I think it was written by Kaz Sulton, but Todd really brings it to life here. The Oblivion album version is beautiful as well (sung by Kaz).
I have Utopia's version from the "Oblivion" album. Simply a fantastic version. I love the piano intro on the "Oblivion" album. Both versions are awesome. Great job, Todd. Your musical contributions are immeasurable.
First time I ever heard this. I missed a lot of Utopia recordings, which I assume explains why this is new to me. Nice tune, with musical and thematic echoes of "Change Myself," some "Bag Lady" chords and the general Todd solo pop piano stuff.
If Todd had written it in the 1970s, Maybe I Could Change would have probably wound up on a solo album (Utopia songs were generally band collaborations). After the solo intended Love is the Answer was recorded by Utopia (Oops! Wrong Planet), it seems Todd borrowed more from his "off hours" writing.
@@cmealha Is it possible to get this in MP3 format? And if so, where? Thanks so much for answering my last question. I've looked everywhere! Thanks again ahead of time!
@@aeropilot4419 I didn’t know that Kasim wrote it. The album says All Songs Written by Utopia and the theme of it was so much like Todd’s other individual works. Good for Kasim if he wrote it. 👏🏽👏🏽. Do you know who wrote “I Will Wait”?
This is a superb example of why Todd Rundgren is one of the greatest singers and songwriters ever. ❤️✌🏾
Yes, except Kasim wrote this song 🙂
@@aeropilot4419 Officially, the song was written by Utopia. Interested in your source that says Kasim wrote it.
I agree wholeheartedly!!!
surely.

The quirkiness you mention is what is so special. Almost like a naive innocence, he projects with his singing. A very endearing quality for sure.
I have never heard this version. I LOVE Kasim's vocals, but Todd is the man. This is one of my favorite songs ever...
Ooooooooh YEAH THAT'S WHY THIS SONG SOUND SO FAMILIAR !!!!

Perfection. Could be one of the greatest songs ever written. I’ve always loved the Utopia version with Kasim on vocals, but this is simply amazing.
Kasim wrote this, give him his due 🙂✨

I've been listening to Todd for decades and just now discovered this song. This is him at his best. Sweet and and yet sad. Loving and yet longing.
Go to a Todd concert now. He NEVER disappoints his fans. Just go.
This is one of the most exquisite performances i have ever heard. What an incredible song and to top it off, Todd's vocals are beyond magnificent!

Such a lovely stripped-down performance. If I knew how to cry, my face would be all wet. 🖤💙
