Interesting details. Lots of special things to look for on vinyl pressings! The Fleetwood Mac original pressing of “Future Games” was a yellow cover. But for a number of years I had the green cover. I finally found a yellow cover out in the wild!
Back when In through the outdoor by Led Zeppelin was released, I went to buy the cassette tape at Rock a Rolla records in Saginaw. I brought it home to listen to and it was NOT Led Zeppelin. The first song should have been In the Evening but it was a hard rocking tune that I really liked very well. I took it back to the record store and the worker listened to it and said that it was ACDC Highway to Hell that was also released that year in 1979. So I exchanged it for In through the outdoor and all was well. About a week or two later when I save up enough money- I purchased the Highway to Hell cassette because I liked it so much....and that was how i first got into ACDC! My only reasoning for the mix up was that both records were on the Atlantic record label so it must have been a mix up at the factory.
I have a first press of the Canadian Velvet Underground. They use the back cover as the front cover. No banana. I guess it would have been too entertaining and inventive for the Canadian psyche.
Great show, sir. Thanks.
Fun show guys! I’ve never seen you guys together and your personalities complement each other! Of course, unmatched expertise is a big part of it!
