This is the way I ALWAYS shop! Hahhaha. I very rarely buy over $10.......and yes, I have a mountain of "rare" stuff that has resale value, but I'm in it for the hunt and dig. I miss the days of goodwill major hauls or garage sale stuff when CD's came out, and then I was lucky enough to be able to shop at Jerrys in PA throughout college and pull out so much for all under $10. The cheap heat is the best. Jerry very rarely if ever priced ANYTHING over $10. He didn't care because he had so much and needed to to move. He knew people would flip and come back to buy more if they were in it for the value. I still buy this way almost exclusively. People see my collection and think I have TONS of money into it, but its just years of digging and collecting to build it all up. Good on you Dylan to let stuff out the door for less then market value. Indeed a fast nickel is better then a slow dime.
Wow Dillon your shop is great, your sections of low mid and high priced bins are perfect. Thats how you run a record store that people can make good discoveries in
ALL of these albums I have (sans two) and love them. To my hears and mind, they are worth SO MUCH MORE!!!! The value of them them really should be trending higher, and I have a feeling they will in due time.
It’s hard to believe it’s been 50 years since Emerson Lake and Palmer headlined the August Jam at Charlotte Motor Speedway. Lots of great 70‘s rock staples you showed there.
I've gotten so many good titles out of bargain bins over the years, even found copies of MC5, Stooges, Blue Cheer, etc out of them back in the day. Usually after "New Arrivals" at any shop, I head straight for the bargain bin!!!
Another great video, Dillion! I appreciate the virtual tour of your shop because I will most likely never get to see it in person because I’m trapped in north Idaho (HUGE mistake!). It was nice to see that you also have a good supply of LP mailers/inserts; always great to be able to buy those when you’re doing eBay. 😊 looking forward to the next one! Walter
Thank you for recommending the Lighthouse album! Have just picked up a (US) copy here in the UK, and absolutely love it! Crazy there is such disparity in price between the US and UK versions!
Hey Dillon your store IS THE BEST in the world...PERIOD!!! Man what great selections!! from vintage joe walsh to spooky tooth and quicksilver..man you got it all...and for five bucks..whew!!!it doesn't get any better than that!! Gotta tell ya...for anybody just starting out with vinyl or even a seasoned vet like myself one needs to look no further than Noble Records!!! Your pricing is amazing and gives so many an opportunity to get familiar with the best of the best from the past....BTW the store looks great....you got it goin on for sure...continued success my friend!!
Spooky Tooth! Lighthouse! Keaggy! Mahogany rush! Badger! Stills! All super great titles. I think I had most of those you showed today except 10 or so 😊 Ha. Spooky tooth and ELP for $5 is just crying out for a young dude to buy and have their world blown away and changed for ever! In Australia they would all be $20 AUS easily 😢😢
That Paul Kantner - Blows Against The Empire and Robbie Robertson are fantastic. The inside artwork on the Paul Kantner record is very cool. I pass those 2 records out to people like gospel tracts 😎
If I lived anywhere near your store, I would come in every day. We have nothing good where I live. Everything here is overpriced, and the people behind the counter are - well, the less said the better. But it sounds like you're running your store the way a store ought to be run. I applaud that, and wish you continued success.
Some great albums there. Thanks for showing the Lighthouse album. As a Canadian, they're pretty important in our countries musical legacy. Check out the double live at Carnegie Hall. It's a beaut.
Love the $5 records and cheap heat concept. I always also pick up George Benson, Turrentine and Hubert Laws on CTI. As to cheap heat I would add Johnny Winter - always available for low price and great bang for the buck
You have an awesome shop man!!!! Your finds are just as awesome. I love vinyl dude, yesterday I bought a 45 rpm of the song Silent Morning by Noel (1987). I also subscribed to your channel man.
Love you business model Dillon. Get ‘em in, move ‘em out. It’s a record store, not a flippin’ museum. Got to meet the rent. You showed some quality records. I live on the west coast, but rest assured I will be digging for your cheap heat sometime in the future. Loved this video. I’m always down on the floor with my butt sticking out going through the cheapies. Cheers brother.
Super Randy Newman album! Not been record shop hunting in a long time, but seen some incredible bargains in the £5-10 bins here in the UK. I got my hands on some Police and Santana records, Rolling Stones comps and a copy of The Temptations 'Zoom' , a pretty rare record of theirs.
I'm gonna drop a free tip. I used to manage a book store, change the 5 bin to 6 each AND in BOLD put 5 for 20, they'll get 1 or 2 worth 5 or 6 but will get some junk or randoms to get the "deal" of 5/20. They'll fly out the door. You're welcome. ❤
My favorite $5 (or less) finds to date are, in no particular order: Dire Straits "Making Movies", Triumph "Allied Forces", and probably about 3 Eddie Money records - I feel like every time I see one of his records they're $5 but whenever I see the Red Columbia label in the middle I know it's going to sound good.
Dillon thanks for this video. I am finding out about a lot of groups I may have missed before. I have to laugh as I bought that Elton John - Rock of The Westies album from my local used record shope for $5! Lol.
Cool selections for $5ea. It's been far to long since I went to my favorite local record store sadly. I always had a budget of $50. I usually came out with 7 nice used copies & one new one. Great shop. Need to go back soon.
WOW - they are super cheap records. We wouldnt get those records over here in Australia for $5.00 - no way !! Your shop is incredibly well laid out. Would love to spend a few hours browsing -unfortunately too far away lol. Cya Doug
IMO Blows Against The Empire is one of the best albums ever. Between the talent, and concept it just grabbed me from the first listen many years ago and held on. Also the Bloomfield /Kooper album is worth having for the into alone lol
Ides Of March - Vehicle goes for big bucks by me because they’re local. Same with that Lake Shore Drive record. I couldn’t believe they reissued that Lowell George for RSD, I always see that one cheap. No Thank You is awesome, hope someone nabs that. Heavier than the album cover looks like. Definitely in that cheap indie world. I have that George Benson - White Rabbit but never seen that cover variation.
In the Uk, they’d all be £15+ records. Would love picking up those early James Gang and Quicksilver Messenger Service records… absolutely brilliant! That Lighthouse cover is a beauty and $5 😵💫Would love to take a trip to your store. My suitcase would be full!
@ 5 dollars is less than 4 pounds. There’s no way that you’re finding any of those records in a UK record shop for less than 4 quid. No matter where they’re pressed. If you know of one, give me their address 🙂
My dream is to come to the Carolinas with a quantity of cash and shop at your store. I have lots of bills to pay down first. I am interested in your merch I always see you wearing your product and I know it would look good on me and I can advertise for you here in Michigan. Your knowledge of music is remarkable and I know you are down to Earth and a cool dood.
Depends which side of the Atlantic you are on. American bands that sold plenty there but little here....try finding an Allman Bros album for under £15 ( about 18 bucks) for example....though am sure it works the same re British/European bands in reverse! Best 5 bucks buy...and am going back 20 yrs so it was £1.99 so about 3 dollars then...was July. I was convinced it was a repress but in nr mint so was having it regardless. Turned out to be first press!
In Australia all those would be $20+ records, even the Australian pressings in VG condition. Shops and Discogs sellers will sit on them forever rather than move their inventory, then complain that nobody is buying. At markets and fairs you can have better luck negotiating.
Years ago I put boxes of 50 LPs up on eBay. They were doubles or stuff I just didn't want anymore. A guy from Australia told me he wanted 21 boxes. I was getting nervous about the shipping but he said no worries. He had a friend in Kansas who was filling up a huge shipping container with vinyl for him. In the US, the postal service has a wonderful reduced cost service called media mail for records, books etc. Each box cost about $40 to ship from the East Coast to Kansas. So he paid me about $900 for shipping and handling plus a very nice price for the vinyl. Having worked in Australia a bunch of times I knew he'd make a handsome profit, and so did I. All good and fun to think that my records would make lots of people happy down under.
What's your square footage on your shop? I have a 2,400 sq foot shop planned for online, Saturdays, and for by appointment only. It's rural and will be an attached dedicated section out of a barn-home. It's yet to be built.
Maybe this is a good place to ask: does anyone know if every single first pressing of RATM - Battle of Los Angeles include the damaging slip mat INSIDE the jacket, or is it always on the outside?
I like how Noble is bringing "cheap heat" back to the $5-$10 range. I thought that term had lost all its meaning. I recently heard someone refer to the debut Flying Burrito Bros. as cheap heat. smh
Music & Video Exchange here in London UK *never* bother to clean *anything*.. drives me nuts, but OTOH TBF they do seem to reduce the price if it is dirty, so swings & roundabouts..
I put your 5$ vinyls out for 1$ at yard sales, not worth selling online, unless NM/NM type copies. If I had a store I might stick them in the 1-5$ bins. You strategy looks sensible, cheaper records get more people in, or diggers in.
Love Dillon from Noble Records coming at me with another video.
Love $5 bin… the best vinyl shop I’ve seen in multiple cities and states! Building back my old man vinyl collection!
Absolutely agree about CTI records. Amazing musicians and excellent recordings. I grab them whenever I see them, and they’re always super cheap.
When someone asks "What are the good jazz fusion records?" the answer is always "CTI stuff"
One of your best videos! Thanks for the tips! That Manassas is a treasure.
This is the way I ALWAYS shop! Hahhaha. I very rarely buy over $10.......and yes, I have a mountain of "rare" stuff that has resale value, but I'm in it for the hunt and dig. I’m a cheap bastard so this right up my alley. You can definitely acquire an amazing record collection on a budget. You just got to get out & look.
Thanks for taking care of us collectors on a budget.
Much respect.
Heavy Horses for $5? Perfect price for a solid little Tull record! I love their bucolic phase!
CTI is FIYA !!!! And that "Last Puff" is COOKING !!!!
Wow Dillon your shop is great, your sections of low mid and high priced bins are perfect. Thats how you run a record store that people can make good discoveries in

Lots of great 70‘s rock staples you showed there.
Yes! The backbones of a real collection. Blows against was when we finally lifted off into space
That is a great video my friend ! We need good Music for few bucks ! Your shop looks so nice .
great 5 $ bin ! wish you were closer by ! great music on the cheap ..cant go wrong .
Solid finds at great prices. I would be thrilled. Wish I lived closer, or that more shops operated by your “a quick nickel” philosophy!
So funny that I watch this while spinning Lighthouse “One Fine Morning”. Great album and awesome recommendation.
I've gotten so many good titles out of bargain bins over the years, even found copies of MC5, Stooges, Blue Cheer, etc out of them back in the day. Usually after "New Arrivals" at any shop, I head straight for the bargain bin!!!
Mandrill, Larry Coryell, great finds!
Watt by Ten Years After is Epic!!!!!!

Best way to find new music without breaking the bank, the $1-5 bin ❤

Wow thanks for the high praise! Just trying to get good music back on people’s turntables! Thanks for watching! 🙏
Spooky Tooth! Lighthouse! Keaggy! Mahogany rush! Badger! Stills! All super great titles. I think I had most of those you showed today except 10 or so 😊
Ha. Spooky tooth and ELP for $5 is just crying out for a young dude to buy and have their world blown away and changed for ever!
In Australia they would all be $20 AUS easily 😢😢
Good picks. I'd add Joe Jackson, Martin Denny (50s era), Stomu Yamashta's Go, Be Bop Deluxe and Virgin era Tangerine Dream.
That Paul Kantner - Blows Against The Empire and Robbie Robertson are fantastic. The inside artwork on the Paul Kantner record is very cool. I pass those 2 records out to people like gospel tracts 😎

Yeah, they were kinda the Canadian answer to Chicago or Blood Sweat & Tears? I like their stuff a lot.
Love the $5 records and cheap heat concept. I always also pick up George Benson, Turrentine and Hubert Laws on CTI. As to cheap heat I would add Johnny Winter - always available for low price and great bang for the buck

Got that West, Bruce, and Laing for $6 and that Mahogany Rush for $4 the other day. Two killer albums!
Ehh.. Cream and Mountain were both fantastic bands; WB&L not so much (apart from Jack's couple of tunes)
Super Randy Newman album!

All great choices. Def good cheap heat!! Can’t go wrong with Mandrill
Dillon always good videos , Welcome to the Cateen best version of Dear Mr. Fantasy ever, that is definitely worth the $5.00 price . Than you
I wish I lived near this store. Sounds like reasonable pricing across the board. Most of the stores around me would charge more for these titles.
Just picked this up 'Detective it takes one to know' - After watching this and streaming it - Its not bad kind grows on you - Saluti from London
All of this stuff is so damn good and so affordable!
Só pode ser o paraíso. !
Excelente loja !
O único problema é que moro em Itajaí, Brasil.
Se eu morasse aí perto, não sairia da loja.
Jethro Tull for $5 😧. Crazy prices.
cheap heat, the series...bangers on a budget...thanks for the tips!
Dillon thanks for this video. I am finding out about a lot of groups I may have missed before. I have to laugh as I bought that Elton John - Rock of The Westies album from my local used record shope for $5! Lol.
Boy i wish you were a tad closer to the mason dixon line. Enjoyed the video.
World class $5 section 😎🌎👌
George Benson White Rabbit is an amazing record! I picked my copy up for $3....a steal.
Robbie Robertson, produced by Daniel Lanois: $5 ??? Man, I wish I lived in your area for such deals.
Cool selections for $5ea. It's been far to long since I went to my favorite local record store sadly. I always had a budget of $50. I usually came out with 7 nice used copies & one new one. Great shop. Need to go back soon.
Great Video!! Gotta make a road trip from PA!
WOW - they are super cheap records. We wouldnt get those records over here in Australia for $5.00 - no way !! Your shop is incredibly well laid out. Would love to spend a few hours browsing -unfortunately too far away lol. Cya Doug
I love the modern mystery stuff.
I would add "Where We All Belong" by The Marshall Tucker Band to this list.
IMO Blows Against The Empire is one of the best albums ever. Between the talent, and concept it just grabbed me from the first listen many years ago and held on. Also the Bloomfield /Kooper album is worth having for the into alone lol
That No Thank You is actually pretty awesome and yea I’d never heard of it!
Sometimes today's weird-indie-record-nobody-ever-heard-of is tomorrow's rare-holy-grail.
Nice video
I'd grab that Lowell George in a second.
Ides Of March - Vehicle goes for big bucks by me because they’re local. Same with that Lake Shore Drive record. @@TheVinylVoyage-ud3uf X-wires methinks :) I meant the UK-pressed LPs are much *more* expensive!
Rock Of The Westies is my favorite Elton John. 1:18
I was waiting for a phone call to interrupt the video 😆
TREE
Checked out that No Thank You record. Woah, some good underground indie/punk with a female lead. Nice!
My dream is to come to the Carolinas with a quantity of cash and shop at your store. I have lots of bills to pay down first. Agreed. 👍🏻 from Adelaide

So many great albums for $5 and out have several of them.
This is my comment of support.
I love the cheap heat.

Awesome !
Vapors- New Clear Days or Magnets
I see those for 5 bucks and I'm confused...they both rock to an absurd degree
Maybe this is a good place to ask: does anyone know if every single first pressing of RATM - Battle of Los Angeles include the damaging slip mat INSIDE the jacket, or is it always on the outside?
In retail, we called it “turn rate”.
For 5 dollars I'm thinking of taking a trip from the uk😀
wow man! i would drop a hunday in minutes.
Why would that ELP album not sell. It's great.
Lotta folks brainwashed by a few decades of anti-prog sentiment in the music press.
I like how Noble is bringing "cheap heat" back to the $5-$10 range. I thought that term had lost all its meaning. I recently heard someone refer to the debut Flying Burrito Bros. as cheap heat. smh
If I see a George Benson or Grover Washington Jr. that I don’t have for $5 or less, I’m buying it.
Fun fact, Jerry Garcia had his middle finger chopped off by an axe when he was a kid.
Do you take the time to clean all of your records before putting them out for sale? Very time consuming but I hate putting dirty records up for sale.
Music & Video Exchange here in London UK *never* bother to clean *anything*.. drives me nuts, but OTOH TBF they do seem to reduce the price if it is dirty, so swings & roundabouts..
great prices for $7.00 Canadian, steals.I'm paying double or triple the price instead your $5.00 US
In Canada I pay way less than what people in the States say they pay for common albuns
On Discogs it seems US has cheapest vinyls agree seems half or three times less for same albums im buying in the UK
It goes from $1 thrashed country/orchestra to $10 beat cover rock. Not much in between. Your stuff would go over well here.
Just p/u 3 NM @$5 lps, Marshall Crenshaw Mary Jean and 9 0thers, Debbie Harry, KooKoo, ABC, Smoke lp.
I'M WATCHING THIS ON MY LUNCH BREAK OUTLOUD AND I HEAR MY CO~WORKER SAYS
" A LIST OF WHO CARES FOR $5 BUCK$ "
ME: SHUT UP JONNY I'LL MAKE THAT CHOICE
Buck Owens. LOL

Do you have a $5 section on your website???
All Y'All are welcome but you have to act right?
Yep
