For those who haven't played this build, he's not joking. It really is the most powerful build I have ever seen, and it has access to physical, magic, and fire damage, as well as scarlet rot and frostbite (if you use borealis' frozen breath). In this video he basically spams dragonmaw, but because of the wide variety of dragon Communion spells, it is highly tailorable to your playstyle. I ran the dragon breath spells, using fire/magic Scorpion charm, magic/fire shrouding cracked tears, Golden vow, ritual sword Talisman, faithful's (and later flock's) canvas, and jellyfish shield to almost one shot every SINGLE boss in the game. Also, my opinion is that dragonclaw is better than dragon maw because you can chain 2 of them back to back with hyper armor, so I think you end up getting more damage and stagger damage. It's dealer's choice though. ALSO, Big Rot breath deals mostly physical damage, for when you need a ranged physical option for those who are resistant to elemental damage.

dragonmaw is better than dragonclaw because dragonmaw has way more hyperarmor imo. i dont ever get knocked out of dragonmaw but ig et knocked out of dragonclaw a lot. Dragonclaw is better against overworld enemies that have enough HP to get one shotted by it so you dont waste FP on dragonmaw overkilling, enemies with shields cuz Dragonclaw kinda just hits over shields, and enemies that are harder to hit with dragonmaws hitbox

Hey peeps! Quick word on Talismans for this build. I did the whole playthrough, from Goldfrey onwards, using both the Radagon Icon and Godfrey Icon. I later realised that NEITHER work for Dragon Communion Incantations 🤦🏻‍♂️. So you’ll have two extra talisman slots available. I’d highly recommend the Ritual Shield Talisman for one, as I say in the vid. The other is up to you. Erdtree Favour, HP boost and FP boost all seem like good options. Hope you like the vid! Thanks for watching!
Edit: I’m an idiot and clearly misread. Radagons Icon DOES WORK. So use that and Ritual Shield!

This video I shall hold close to my heart, it way this build guide that helped me defeat fire giant, half way through I forgot the strat so I had to improvise by using dragonmaw while he summoned the fire bombs and whatever else that made him stationary for a long time. I will edit this comment if I beat the game and become Elden Lord, have some prawn while I do it 🦐🦐🦐
About 2 hours before I made this edit, I defeated radagon and elden beast, which by far have been the most frustrating bosses i have fought yet, this took me almost 4 days to beat normally, until i used the shabriri's woe mimic tear strat, in which case i beat them in the first 20 attempts (i know i suck) then i beat mohg using the same method, though i doubt i needed it, and now im currently fighting malenia, wish me luck❤
(Also I realized I gave y'all some raw prawn so have this instead, and sorry if i gave y'all salmonella 🍤🍤🍤)
As of making this edit, I have defeated malenia, somehow it was harder than it needed to be, but it was my first time fighting her. I'm currently thinking on what to do with her runes and contemplating how hard it'll be to fight placidusax after hearing him say placidusax should be the hardest boss for this build.
I refuse to give up because this build guide has brought me further than I ever thought I'd go in Elden ring and has showed me true power unlike anything I've ever believed, thank you thingfishy and all who might've seen this comment. The next edit I make will most likely be the last after I hopefully defeat the dragonlord, wish me luck.
(Also after Millicent passed away, I left her a miquella lily, I didn't know what else to give her so I decided to give her something named after her uncle at the very least)
    And as per usual, here's some prawn. (here's a bit extra❤) 🍤🍤🍤🍤🍤🍤🍤🍤🍤
Ngl, I got so excited when I beat placidusax that i forgot to edit this comment and update that I beat the game... I'm currently in ng+. Sorry.
So yeah, I became Elden Lord and I'm currently working on doing most of the side quests right now. I'm also working on altering the build to incorporate some dragon cult incantations and I have plans on using the bolt of grannsax as my main weapon. (As of making this, I'm around lvl 150 and using dual +10 dragon communion seals along with placidusax ruin because it's my favorite incantation)
I only realized I didn't update my progress because I saw someone liked my comment (whoever you are, who was the first person to like my comment, thanks m8. Have some prawn 🍤 🍤🍤🍤🍤🍤🍤🍤🍤🍤🍤🍤🍤)
Also Alexander wanted to say hi

Great video as always. I thought I'd point something out. For the ulcerated tree spirit before Millicent, there is a very easy method (almost makes it seem like it was meant to be done that way. When you come out of the drainage channel and go towards the ulerated tree spirit, there is a branch you need to jump off of to get to it (see 22:00 for the exact branch I'm talking about). Take note of the right side of that branch, you'll see another smaller branch. After you go to the rot pool and it spawns, run back to the branch, look towards the left side and notice the smaller branch from before (that smaller branch I referred to as being on your right side, now since it is behind you, it is on the left side). Jump on to it, follow it up, and hop back onto the main branch. Now you can keep some distance from the spirit and hit it with ranged attacks (some of its attacks can still hit you so maintain some distance and back up when it does said attacks). Using this method, there are many incantations and sorceries you can try (swarm of flies works very well).

as someone who's done this run, I recommend dragonclaw over maw, because it chains into a second one that you can cast when you see wether or not it staggered the enemy. Also more useful in pvp since it has an aoe and tends to knock down opponents giving you a free second hit. If you're going hard arcane with this build, I'd also recommend the ripple blade or the albinauric halberd for bosses resistant to statusses, both of which have S scaling with arcane and can be buffed with spells. Otherwise, go bleed or other status effects.

At some point in the video you have 59 arcane and barely any hp... Dragon communion seal soft caps at 45 arcane...
Level you hp folks, especially if you'll be doing any co-op and PVP.
You will get decent returns for leveling faith to 45 too, though stopping at whatever the max faith requirement is for your spells is works fine as the seal primarily scales from arcane.
You need to get to at least 20 mind for 2 full charges of the upgraded breaths, generally you don't need more. The one downside to this build is that it consumes tons of mana, but going beyond 20 still results in your entire bar being consumed by a full breath attack.
This build doesn't seem to have dedicated hybrid faith arcane weapon options but the ripple blade and halberd work wonders, especially if you'll keep pumping arcane like you did in this video. Both barely require any extra stats and can inflict multiple status effects, most critically sleep and poison, with greases that scale off your arcane. Otherwise it just doubles up as a bleed build, occult affinity on any weapon with natural bleed will do good.
Imo this is still the strongest build in the game despite the nerfs to the breath attacks.

    • @Wyvernil
      @Wyvernil Год назад +1

The Flame Art affinity can make a good substitute for Occult early on, since you'll be pumping up your Faith before your Arcane. A dip into Redmane Castle for the whetstone early in the game can be helpful for this build. By the time your Arcane starts to surpass your Faith, you should have access to Nokron and the relevant whetstone.

    • @MeldinX2
      @MeldinX2 2 месяца назад

You can also combine it with a bleed build with the Reduvia dagger for some quick hits that do massive bleed-buildups. Espacially if you pump Arcane and level past 150. I'm level 210 now and i can afford both 80 Arcane and 45+ Faith aswell as having 60 Vigor.

    PS
For other players trying the same run grab dragon claw. It has much less hyper armour than dragon maw but takes less FP, starts up much faster and has substantially better tracking. To kill the Rotten Ulcerated Tree Sentinel in the Millicent Rot arena, you can just jump back on the branch you came down on and attack it with the normal Fire breath (more range) and be completely safe.
You don't have to kill Millicent at her arena to get the Millicent's Prosthesis talisman. You can kill her right after you fight the Godskin Apostle in the Windmill Village. Then just kill Gowry for the Flock Incantation Talisman.

This build is my favorite way to play the game I think. Consumables focused / only is also fun, which is where I learned to appreciate a lot of items that don't get that much appreciation!
Being an arcane build that does huge AOE damage, farming is extremely easy. I would recommend using Ironjar Aromatic paired with boiled prawn/crab on this build, and you can use it to easily tank through any attacks and stance break pretty much any boss with your choice of Maw/Claw. After that, you can either keep going, or apply a breath and/or heal and do it again. This item combo gives you openings pretty much wherever you want.
If it's a boss you think you could one-shot before getting hit with enough damage stacks, you could also use bloodboil aromatic instead of FGMS (extra 10%)
Another buff you could easily apply is an extra 20% from Kindred of Rot Exultation talisman by using two fetid pot before or during a boss battle! This will poison you, and in turn give you the buff. IMO this is a great slot-in in place of faithful canvas (could also just swap when you boss, but tbh you'll likely not need that 4% damage against normal mobs anyways)
This builds pros are: it's extremely versatile, and it does a lot of damage.
The cons are: long windups, and mana-hungry.
Using the above items with a hidden tear in your flask nullifies any of these downsides for any boss that doesn't do lightning damage to you (which isn't many, and those that do are easy with this build without those items anyways)
    Don't sleep on items!

just btw, you dont have to feel guilty about killing growry, he is actually just one of those centipede enemys u fight the whole game, the better talisman is an omage to the worse one wich is in the cave where those centipede enemys are praying, they pray for the godess of rot(wich is melenia) but if ur interested u should watch a lore vid :).
PS: if u kill him before ending milicents quest he just drops dead as a centipede and gets exchanged for another one taking his place.

I started this a lot differently and without dragon cult incantations. Start as thief with stonesword key, go get the Reduvia knife, use Reduvia and the buckler shield to kill the knight and get the dragon communion seal, then go kill greyoll with Reduvia for the free runes, and put it all into faith and arcane. Then go to cathedral of dragon communion with your dragon hearts and get rotten breath and dragonice. Rotten breath and dragonice are super strong but they need time to use, for fighting dragons I recommend baiting out a melee attack to get the time to use your attacks. Super op build and rot is obviously amazing at killing bosses

Imagine my surprise when I realized there was an answer for every single boss in this game within this little subsection of spells. And yes, usually it was Dragonmaw but there were a lot of other super useful ones like the status breaths and a breath for every element except holy, which is the worst element in the game anyway

I did mine a bit differently. I almost never used Dragonmaw, but I did use a fair bit of dragon CLAW, for the same poise reasons as here. Most often though, I started every fight with a rot breath, then alternated regular ice and fire breaths. On most bosses, the regular frost procs will take large chunks of HP all throughout the fight.
I'll admit, these strategies look more calculated, but I enjoyed the breath-based gameplay. The only boss I didn't defeat exclusively with dragon incants was Rykard, because he would slowly crawl towards me as I charged up and continuously knock me out of a *flying in the air charge* with his _ground-based lava_ like the big, thick knob he is.

I am doing a Dragon Communion build now. I am about halfway through. Generally relying on Opaline Bubble Tear and high Poise for survival (still at 10 Vigor), and using breath weapon attacks for bosses, but I will have to experiment with Dragonmaw. I have a lot more invested in Mind. I went with FP recovery items and Frenzied Burst/Lightning Spear for clearing mobs, then switch to damage talismans and buffs for bosses. Silver Tear Mask and Godrick's Rune gives some useful stats, and I'm not running out of Rune Arcs. I'm hoping to get a second Dragon Communion seal in NG+.
