I had been on the fence about which detector I was going to upgrade to. I had been using my (dating myself) Whites XLT (Which I still love and know very well) since it came out, but unfortunately due to it being worn out but still pulling King George 2 and 3's from North eastern United States, I knew I had to upgrade. My final choices were the XP2, Manticore or the 900. After much consideration I selected the Manticore with a really close second, the Deus2. I primarily relic hunt but I beach hunt as well. What swayed me was the multiple charging points of the deus vs single on the manticore, and 2 the Manticore with its 99 id segments seemed similar to the XLT's. I dig EVERYTHING above a 1 on id and learned early on simply said, no pain no gain. Hope I made the right choice and have installed the new update. BTW, Love your videos!

Are you going to test the Manticore with the M8 and 15" coils?

Greetings from Florida. Very good video, so much, so, that it encouraged me to order a Manticore today. Also, a friend of mine let me use his manticore for a short while the other day, and I was very impressed with all the features that you mentioned. Subscribed, and looking very much forward to future Manticore videos from you. 👍 If you have access to the ocean, I would like to see some manticore videos of it being used on the beach.

Hello Florida, I live about 1KM from the beach so I will make sure to do some beach content soon.
      Thanks

Thanks a lot for this introduction. Very nice and honest. I am used to the ctx and waiting for the Manticore. I wonder if there is a auto sensitivity or how to optimise this on the Manticore 🤔

Great video mate, have you tried it on a field that you've had issues with EMI. This is one of the mains reasons why I'm interested in the manticore. Any videos on this would be great. 👍

Hi, yes, I have a field that has a phone mast in it. The Equinox 800 was virtually unworkable in their (unless on single frequency) the Manticore and Equinox 900 are both very stable and not effected by it.
Both the new Equinox and Manticore are much more stable around EMI.

Hey, I think your not doing the noise cancelling in the recommended method. I dont have a manticore quite yet, but I have watched countless videos. The recommendation is to hold down the noice cancelling button until it stays on a certain number repeatedly. After that you get a munch more "focused" detector with the possibility of increasing sensitivity etc.

      @HiddenHistoryHuntersDetecting  Год назад

Yep you're spot on, you can either single press like the the Equinox or long press and let it keep cycling until it settles on a channel. I normally always long press

I wanted to upgrade and get a new metal detector so I did a lot of research on the newest high end metal detectors and it came down to the manticore and the 900 so really for an extra $500 what can the manticore find that the 900 can't ??? So I purchased the equinox 900 the best bang for your buck !!!

Hi, I don't know if you have the 3030, but i'm sure a hell of a lot of people would like to see comparisons actually on field between them. I've tried to find any on the tube and found none, just screen comparisons.
Also, will the nox pwr pack fit on the manticore stem?.

I will have a comparison video coming soon, where I will be depth testing it against all the leading machines and testing recovery & separation. Keep an eye out for the videos coming soon 👍

The Manticore is much too expensive for what it really is compared to the Equinox 900 or the Deus2, many first comparison tests here on RUclips confirm that, there is nothing nice to talk about if Minelab does not significantly reduce the price it will be one zero number like the CTX 3030, which almost nobody in Europe bought because it was not only far too expensive but also far too heavy.
Minelab hasn't really done its homework, why don't they finally come up with a cordless lightweight detector like the Deus and stick with the outdated corded tech?
They might be able to sell their detectors well in Australia, but here in Europe we need detectors designed for our search areas, not Australian ones!

@@christianh7863 That's true, but there is a special cable for the XP Deus2, so you can go underwater with it just like with the other detectors, but of course you go on land without a cable, so as you can see Minelab or other manufacturers could also use wireless ones Build detectors, why they don't I don't know!

The advanced Noise Cancel (long press), the hardware redesign for EMI mitigation, an increased Sensitive range and the Target Trace to help unmask and show multiple targest make it a superior detector than the 900, and justifies the price.
In addition the Manticore has outclassed the CTX3030 and the Gold Monster 1000 in most situations.
When the M8 coil becomes available for the Manticore the gap will be closed with these aforementioned detectors.
I expect more new Minelab detectors in the future, or watch these two detectors lines be dropped.
      I want a new CTX4040.
